@Amy Yes, Akanksha is truly impressive. I think she did mention in one of her earliest interviews that the role is a little unconventional for her because she is very young but being a theatre artiste, the potential which Megha's character had, must have excited her to take it up.

I mean she's merely 21 and could have taken up any of those so called "youth shows" but she took this show where she is playing the role of a widow and most of all a mother of two kids...and one of them is a 8 year old daughter. She is so convincing in this role, isn't she? She might not "look" her character's age as much but her demeanor fits her character's age perfectly...the character that is mature and dignified while at the same time naive and spunky like a kid in some moments.

That's cuz she's a theater artist and not a fluffball bimbo like most actresses doing cosmetic roles on TV.

Have you guys seen these pics of her from her theatre plays?

@Amy Here's my opinion on what you said earlier,I am pasting it from my comment in the article -

I am for weekly shows over daily shows. Actors' concerns apart, it is better for the quality of the television also. With the pressure of needing an episode 5 days a week and with the cut throat competition, the quality is thoroughly compromised most of the times, even if the creative team is good. After a point, no show sticks to the theme, it all turns into a TRP game and that really kills the viewers' interest. Having seasonal or weekly shows will save the viewer from getting addicted to the soaps, the painful dragging that happens is such a turn off when the viewer gets addicted to a show. In the good old DD days, most of the shows had QUALITY because they aired once a week, that gave the creative units ample of time to better the script. Since the season concept also works in a similar fashion, that is not a bad idea either. However, seasonal or weekly or daily shows, ANY show should end at a certain point without trying to stretch it because the viewers loved it.

WORD. you've said exactly what I would have said. It's not that desi writers can't come up with innovative scripts and such, they very well can but the pressure of the dailies, from the channels and the trps tends to work AGAINST them and I know that it would. In case of a seasonal and weekly schedule, the creative team gets more time to work on the scripts, develop the characters and even use time for workshops for the cast involved before shooting the actual stuff.
Even Kunal stated this issue in his comment as compared to the usual actors' concerns comment.

@Anu-- yeah I saw those pics. She looks really good.

The ppl in the PSH forum are shipping Sugni and the guy who turned out to be her half-brother😕😆...

Seriously I just don't get these mindsets...just cuz it's some pseudo hunk-looking guy, the women blindly want them to be paired up.

Am I the only one who found Varun FAR more interesting? And yes this despite the fact that he's kinda balding in the back of his head and is hardly hunk material...but I think the man has such solid CHARISMA...

Since you mentioned it, Mash...I'm wondering if MR would have been right for this role...it seems to require a middle-aged looking guy...but yeah if MR had played this role, all the chicks would magically start drooling over him and pairing him up with Sugni😆

Terence's thoughts on the final stretch of DID season 3...it's a good read :-)
Another season of DID comes to an end..Alas will miss the energy of the rehearsals and shooting in Famous...loved the entire team of people working this time...each one did their job well and efficiently...it almost flew this time...was the most exciting and challenging season of it all when it came to contestants...feel blessed and happy that Raghav and Pradeep made the cut!

Reached the Finale Stage set last night and packed up at 8 in da morning. It was beautiful to dance and practice on da huge set as the Sun dawned on us and kissed us good morning, reminding us to go home.. Pradeep cd not contain his tears when he saw the stage and Raghav was by his side throughout! Raghav too was talking non stop as to how incredible it will be to dance in front of 25.0000 people live...he rambled..."Sir Khatarnak hoga" atleast 25000 times...and was jumping around the stage, cracking us all up! What can i say abt Raghav..,Unique and exceptionally gifted, unpretentious, unabashed, intelligent and a quick wit to match, yet, a wonderful kid at heart. Loving and genuine... one helluva of a smart kid...I've not seen someone who is so sharp when it comes to choreography and has an ability to create dance with just an idea...just a bit of prodding and directing his energies and in a few hours, he has a piece ready to be performed...no spoon feeding...

then I have Pradeep...an epitome of hard work, grit and passion...puts me to shame with his dedication, focus and love for dance...Ull only see him taking breaks, to grab a bite or sip of water, or to catch a few hrs of rest...insanely hardworking, works quietly and delivers a sixer every time...he just told me he used to milk 50 cows daily from three to six and sell it in da market for the owner! Then travel for hours to learn and teach dance to make an extra buck...that's why he was just crying with joy at seeing the set and stage and realising how far he had come and after so many years of rejection and hardships!

I salute DID and Zee for making this happen..a grand salute to its creators and sponsors for seeing potential both in the dancers in da country and in da marketability. A show that stands as a benchmark for talent and has given Dignity to dance! Watch the finale live on 21st on ZeeTV.

And yes I truly feel blessed that I have a team of people and friends who are genuine and committed to Dance. Behind Raghavs and Pradeeps success lies one man...Bertwin...my chief Asst..This man is the mastermind behind all da acts...for being the force de jour and relentlessly making the acts come to a certain par of excellence and creativity...and he is backed by a team of assistants from the multitasking high spirited Mihir, to My multitalented dancers Salim Ravi Anuradha Anooja...take a bow...we worked hard but Smart and efficiently...gonna miss the strategising, planning, identifying issues and fixing them, mentally preparing the contestants to take criticism and not let politics affect them...all my admirers and fans, thank u for u r
Love and support...I genuinely respect it and feel blessed...however it was pertinent to give due to people behind my success...Bertwin Thank u..u r Gods special child...my team in DID and my Core team in da company...respect and thanks to u for standing by the most difficult times we faced this season internally...ur faith in me and us as a company and belief that we have followed the right path, taken the right decisions, gave us all courage to face the stormy weather! I'm overwhelmed with ur love and grit and I know that we will succeed strength to strength and the indomitable spirit that governs us will guide us thru to take us to our highest potential both as humans and as professionals! To faith...to that spirit...to my wonderful team both at DID and the company...to my creator who never left me...Amen
What? What? He's her BROTHER! What is it about bigre hue characters that get girls hyperventilating? Stupid! Varun has too much personality for IF girls to like. Me, I'm happy with him.

Kavz/Amy...I'll ditto your thoughts about weekly shows and bound scripts. Our TV has been churning out shit these days as well but it's far better in quality than Indian TV at the moment...and there's a wideee range of genre and topics that they get to make shows on because of weekly shows and bound scripts. Every serial here has 15-20 episodes that air weekly and then after three four months a new serial takes its place. They just don't write...they even shoot and edit the COMPLETE serials in advance and then air it. Anddd you two should watch Malaal, a recent Pakistani serial that I'm in love with...I think you'll love it. I haven't find a person who don't.

Kavz...you should give PSH a try as well...thoda hard to digest hai...but you'll love the lead girl. If you aren't cheering for her by the end of the second episode only...mera naam badal dena.
