@Mash: I totally agree...there is such a NATURAL flow of chemistry b/w Mohan-Nanhi...that kid is a very good actor...especially loved the solemnity with which she said, 'nahi maanegi'...she's not a typical "cutesy" little kid...you can see that the tragedy in her life makes her mature and solemn beyond her years in some ways and it tugs at your heart...plus I love the way Mohan gets her so well and the way he treats her...not patronizing but as an equal...and the way she sort of pulled that story out of him...the characterization is so good...Nanhi's curiosity as a child...the DIRECT way in which she will ask Mohan anything...and Mohan while otherwise brusque and always complaining about how kids are such a pain...has somehow developed this CONNECT with Nanhi that's not cheesy or anything...but so natural...it's very sweet to watch.

I've realized that I like to see realistic portrayals of friendship on screen - especially between guys.. Warna toh either they make a caricature of any friendship between guys by doing a "dostana" type parody or they just try to show them off as "macho dudes hanging out" nonsense... You know..? Jaise realistic portrayals bauhat mushkil sey dikhte hain. DuJi were one of them and Mohan-Guru are another. And of course, wahan toh Dutta k aik dialogue ne Baji ko "biwi" kar k mashoor kar diya tha.. But you're right k here Guru ACTUALLY acts like one! 😆

Oh thinking of this, Rohan-Huzeifa fall under this category for me too..

I love the way Mohan shared his childhood story with her. The character of Nanhi is quite mature for her age due to her circumstances and yet there's a small kid inside her...Mohan understands that...and so treats her like an equal, giving her grown up gayaans in a different way than one usually does. These two have good chemistry too...and the kid is a good actress...it's not very easy to play a role like that so convincingly.

I loved the Guru Mohan scenes too...I think there's no one who knows Mohan better than Guru...😆

Patronizing.. That's the word I have been looking for! Thank you Anu!! Lol, I was going through a complete brain freeze.. 😆 But yeah, I love how Mohan treats her - he recognizes her maturity and he realizes k she's still a kid. And how he's managed to reconcile the two and treat her accordingly is something commendable - especially for the CVs for being able to SHOW this portrayal on screen. The girl playing Nanhi though is arguably one of the best child artists I've seen in a long long time..

Are you joining the Guru fan club too?! 😃😆

Anu...I love how the interactions are written so naturally. Warna dekha jai toh in such a short while they have sort of come to care for each other and yet it doesn't seem forced. I also like how spontaneous Nanhi is around him...like that bit in Fivr's avi...the way she repeated his gesture...sweet!

Also, I loved how Nanhi went and hugged Megha before actually manoing her. That was such a natural touch again. Reminded me of times when I had to manao my mother. 😆 Hum toh Ami ko chodte hi nahin jab tak maanti nahin hain...😆

Yes, I also like realistic portrayals of friendship on-screen...and Mohan-Guru definitely fall under that unusual sweet bond definition...

DuJi toh were in a league of their own and a bit more larger than life ofcourse cuz of Baaji's fierce loyalty especially...but MG have this real life feel to them...not a typical back-slapping buddies type of friendship and yet there is a deep affection there obviously.

I love Nanhi's spontaneity too...like yesterday's scene as I mentioned yesterday too and I even love the moment from their first scene when she puts out her hand for him to shake and he kinda jumps back...lol...and the way she gestures at him to take her hand...very sweet bit...yes they've only known each other for a couple of days but the chemistry feels natural...probably cuz Mohan is not behaving with her like 'oye what a sweeet baccha'...but just enough to show that he's got a soft corner for her now.

Aur waise bhi, like Guru mentioned...it seems that Mohan can't stop himself from helping out crying females...lol...like the way he was saying, 'nahin Mohan bhatnagar, nahin' on the lift and trying to stop himself from turning towards Nanhi...lol

On a different note, I've been sitting in this lecture for the past two hours and there are still two more hours to go.. Who in their right mind schedules a 4 hours recurring lecture for each week of this semester? 🤢

She is STILL talking. There are 203 slides in this powerpoint. We are on slide 108.

By the way, I run out like the wind after I get done with a long lecture.. I hate getting cornered into answering questions when all I want to do is go home and eat/sleep. I totally understand the long commute back.. 🤢 At least for me, I spend a good hour of it on the bus toh I can sleep there..
