@Kiran - thanks for the PM, just replying to you...

I did not know that the leads were married, with family, etc etc. - not that it matters, but it shows what good writing and a good cast can do to a show... The leads of Humsafar are really well-suited to the character they are playing. This is where I have a problem with Navya - I think Soumya does not emote well. If she is playing the title character then she has to carry the show on her shoulders and IMO, she is not up to scratch. I am not saying she's always bad, but I can safely say I can count out all the scenes where she out-acted her co-stars...

IPKKND - I think both Barun and Sanaya emote really well - sometimes there are no dialogues between them and they are just conveying their emotions through their eyes and they do a splendid job...the show has its silly moments too, but I watch it for the lead pair scenes...

Regarding Humsafar, these were my thoughts that I posted to Tanu in a PM:

1. Nice feel to the show (obviously all shot in a 5-star hotel) - the clothes, the chic ladies (lovely salwar suits, also like some of the stuff Sara wears...), uff - watching that serial made me realise how stylish and fashionable can go hand in hand with good taste...😍...

2. Good looking lead cast 😳... I like both of them - how cute are they 😃...pleasant to watch...by the way is it just me or does Sara look like our very own Rakshanda Khan?

3. OK, coming to the story - quite a simple story, but I am not feeling bored - it's reasonably well-made, somewhat slow, but I don't mind...DK was definitely better, but this one is way better than some of the trash we have on air in India at the moment - oh, the bane of TRPs! 😭

4. I was reading somewhere that there are going to be only 21 episodes...I guess in the next few episodes we'll see misunderstandings creep up between Asher and Khirad, thanks to Sara.

5. That scene between Asher's parents was downright shocking - his dad basically emotionally blackmailed the son and bullied/threatened his wife to get his way 😲...I don't know what to make of the mother's character - she seems smart, into social work etc etc - I was surprised that she never said anything else to defend herself/the son?! I could sympathise with Sara (to a point) - she must've got the shock of her life - and her point about Asher not even being in love with Khirad makes sense, doesn't it? Of course all the OTT drama of wrist-slashing was, sort of ok - we've seen such things numerous times on TV shows and films (remember Sonia in Navya?)...

6. Like the title song - "woh humsafar..." - nice...

On a separate note, could I request anyone who has a knowledge of urdu to tell me the meaning of the title song - what do the lyrics mean? Thanks...

Finally I finished with catching up with all Humasafar episodes and am upto date:) and feel like I can comment some now...

@Usha..you beat me to it..you said everything I wanted to say-including the salwar suits-LOL

Never mind, I figured I'll rave and rant again...

For starters, let me confess that this the first Pakistani serial I am watching and am I surprised or what!... I expected them to be very similar to our serials...and am very happy Humsafar proved me wrong:)

- I loved Khirad (Mahira) in the 1st episode itself..there's something abt her...and her eyes, they speak volumes..guess that's why she doesn't need to say much..is the silent types:))

-Asher...now he is something else...I have to confess he grew on me, don't get me wrong, I thought he was definitely droolsome😳 , but something abt him troubled me initially...I can't say what! but since I warmed up to him, I can't get enough of him-LOL! I think I am loving it that he is totally lattoo over Khirad...and the way he unabashedly keeps staring at her..awww that's the cutest...he expresses so much through those stares😳

-Coming to Sarah...like Usha said, I completely sympathized with her, till she started acting like a psycho! and cutting her writsts and all...definitely OTT for me! You gals were saying that in the novel, she leaves after Asher-Khirad's marriage..I would have really liked if the director and script writers had stuck to the novel here.

-Farida...a very difficult person to get a read on...I think the most complex characters of all...I was completely on her side when she was trying to put some sense into Basirat regarding the wedding...what if Khirad turned out to be Rama types-Yikes!!!

-Basirat-let me not say anything here..I can't tolerate emotional blackmailers/ing..so I might not have nice things to say here:)

-Clothes, make up, fashion...I can't rave enough abt this aspect! it is sooo refreshing to not see women laden with jewellery and in heavy gaudy clothes:) again, with Usha abt what a good fashion sense and make up can do to the characters on TV!

And I love the suits Khirad wears! am in love:)) they suit her sooo well and bring out her beauty soo well!

My fav scenes so far(not in any order)v-: I know am making it my very long post-LOL
- chataranj scene(definitely):)
-Asher staring at Khirad in the black suit...:)the way he stares at her,am surprised he wonders why she blushes-LOL
-Asher and Khirad chat after she mails her friend...the way they sat next to each other, they really didn't have to have a conversation(which btw was very nice)...their comfort, their attraction for each other was sooo evident...
-Sarah's party, when Asher understands Khirad's feelings after Sarah the psycho insults her!

I agree with Usha again, the show seems slow at times, but I am liking it:)

I think all the actors are playing their characters very well...I really liked Sarah's acting in the initial scenes, her pain, her love, her desperation at Asher's wedding..I thought she did a brilliant job of portraying those emotions!

Okay I shall stop by bak bak here...btw am not maha thrilled abt this new dude entering their life, but I somehow feel the makers will do justice to the story line:)

Kiran, I am so sorry dear :( I did not know we could not share this news! I am awfully sorry yaar :( I thought you wanted me to share this story with our adda friends, I know the people you mentioned Isha, Nidhi are in India right now and prolly don't check IF that often... I didn't post it on the main adda, but I thought it would be good here, 'coz it is semi-private... It was just our extended gang... I am awfully sorry, looks like I misunderstood you completely. My sincere apologies 😭

Agree with everything you two have said. I was raving earlier about Khirad's designer clothes. Sarah, is dressed in the latest fashion, and she could put any smartly dressed New Yorker to shame, and of course Asher looks dapper in his suits and casuals as well.

Yep, it looks likes they have spared no expense in shooting this show. Asher's house is gorgeous even Sarah's home is nice.

Yep, a pretty yuppie serial for sure. All those stylish restaurants they go to, Asher's Benz and all, kahaan humara Anant ek khatara chalata hai...😆

Usha and Soumya, agree with everything about you two wrote..

Ahh I cannot rave enough about the production value of this show..From the clothes, to the sets- everything is so beautiful!! Asher's and Sarah's house are nothing short of palaces..And everythig is decorated so tastefully..
And the clothes, they do use designer clothes for the leads..I am lattoo over Khirad's dresses..Long kameezes, the kind Khirad wears, are not the "in" thing in this side of the border but I am sure we will see dresses of this kind all over the place..They really bring out the best in her..And everything from her makeup to her dresses is simple, subtle, light colours - just according to her personality in the show..Where as Sarah's clothes are stylish, bold, modern, mostly darker hues- just like her character in the show..And Asher, woh kuch bhi pehenle mujhe toh hamesha handsome hee lagta hai..☺️

Hello adda gang! Looks like no onez here as usual...bhatakti aatma...yep candle in hand and yep Tanu...aayega aayega...! 😆

Haah! Finally watched the episode and what an episode! And I just cant remember anything else besides Asher's eyes and smiles in it! ☺️ The dood is hawt or what! 😍 Everytime he looks at her, there is so much authority towards her in his gaze, his body language and his words! Aaah love it! Haq se ki hui har cheez hamesha romantic lagti hain by god! 😆 Hmmm...so I was saying...the episode...umm Asher...his smirks...umm his eyes...erm his voice, boy he has a silky voice, I keep sliding all over the place watching and listening to him as well now...someone help me! 😛 😆 The scene where she is writing an email to her friend...that entire scene...woah woah woooah! Loved it!

Koi meko yeh bataao...where was that line when he confronts Sarah the next day in office in a foul mood, she says shes outspoken and he says..theres a thin line between outspoken and battameezi! Wasn't it there in the precap? That dialog was gaayab! 😔 And has he already come back from that 10 day trip or is he yet to go? Kuch samajh nahin aaya 😕 Wheres that scene when he looks like he is back from a trip and shes sleeping on the bed and he jumps on it just to wake her up? Or is that for some other scene? I thought it was going to come when he comes back from his trip. Aaanywaysz...bottomline is Asher is droolicious! 😛

Im not yet aware of the entire script, but looks like Maamu jaan is going to exit the story and then it would be just Momaani (Maami/Mummyji) and she will then do what she has always wanted to do...spllit them up I guess. 😒 Just saw the couple of promos you girls have posted and they were heart wrenching to say the least ...esp the one where Khirad has some blood near her mouth and seems to be leaving the house for good...god thats going to be difficult to watch 😒

Just look at my post! Smilies in the earlier paragraphs and all sad faces for the coming episodes. I think the next epi is the going to be the last romantic one between the two...cus it all looks downhill after that.

As Tanu said, the production value of this show is unreal! they have left no loopholes ...no space for complaints! Its just an extremely well coordinated show...kudos to the team! 👏 In todays mentally screwed up telly shows...Humsafar comes like a breeze in the spring, so well done team! 👍🏼

Hi Tanu and thanks so much...🤗...I have fallen in love with this serial...I have watched all the episodes at one go 😆...and now I am feeling bad that I will have to wait till Saturday...Don't we have spoilers ?Khirad,Asher...both are so apt for the role...but Sarah...yuks,she reminds me of Koel Puri ..
I loved each and every thing,and did not afford to miss a single word because then I would have regretted the decision.😆and would have gone back to see what they spoke...
The best thing about the serial is the language...I belong to the old school of thoughts,so always prefer to talk properly.I hate the SMS language...and love Amitabh Bachhan's shuddh bhaasha...Khirad's zubaan or bhaasha is so unadulterated...lovely😳

@Kiran... What is the name of the book?And which language is it in?I guess...if it is Urdu then I won't be able to read a single syllable..and I will miss the experience of reading a good book,because the fact is books are always better than onscreen adaptations...
What and How will the story proceed then?

I have not been able to watch Humsafar and reading all the post out here i feel i am missing somethign big..but lately i am not getting chance to even watch Navya regularly so me getting started with some other show looks difficult..but i want to do it just to be active on this thread and be with all my adda gang😳..lets hope i can get it done soon..

Waise I guessed i can still come here and be with you guys ..is that ok with you..or will you throw me away because i dont watch humsafar😕

Hi guys...i owe Tanu & Kiran big time for opening up the Pak tv shows to me...

I hav just started watching the show...& Oh. My. God!

Got full 5 days to watch rest of the epis...but i guess i am like Kiran too...so will have to know abt the novel as often i read the endings before much before they are supposed to be read!!😆

@Urmi...mebe u dont have time to catch up on the show now...but u see the first part of the first epi...& u will be hooked onto it.

if it was for getting hooked, i am sure as soon as i see the first epi i will get hooked..because we all share similar taste to an extent and if most of the addamaets are in love with this show, how can i be an odd man out..but the problem is with last 3 weeks left for the term to end..i am a lot busy os dont know when i will be able to ctch up with the show
