Anu, I'm not looking at the point of a view of a character, as a character it is ACCEPTABLE. I have family members that are overweight, and I have seen their health problems... hence I brought up the point as a general discussion on health. I NEVER meant it as a problem with his character! In fact I used to watch this show on Star Plus with an overweight lead character years back for that matter... where the lead female was overweight. It was a cute show.

Ok, I guess we have been running on parallel tracks with this...I think you didn't see it the way I meant it and I didn't know what context you meant it.

I thought we all already agreed about the general health problems issue and yes, Ram should lose weight no doubt for his health...

My issue was with the general statement that his toand is disturbing to look at...anyways, let's drop it now...I guess we both understand what way we meant it in now😊

*Edit: GG, I never tried to indicate that you are being shallow...you've misunderstood me😕...I didn't mean to hurt your feelings on this. I'm sorry if you feel that way😕

I saw BALH ... it was a cute episode ... for some reason I could neither stand Karthik nor the psycho Natasha in today's episode. Natasha toh gets on my nerves. But ..I mean... why would any man fall in love with a lady who is loco? 😕 She cuts her wrists for him and constantly sneers and makes him feel like he's on the edge. And yet he's madly and irrevocably in love with her? Ram and Priya had a cute phone convo today. Pretty much like the promo :-) LOL at the way both Ram's friend and Priya's mother was trying to get them ready to be "civil" with each other. Let's see what happens tomorrow.

Oh and don't call him obese baar baar...mujhey acha nahin lagta...I really like his overstuffed teddy bear personality...😆

Mash - yes I saw when Priya taunted Ram on his weight ... it was a damn funny conversation 😆How Priya was trying to steer clear of the weight issue and telling Ram that he has a massive ego above everything else, but Ram being Ram takes it personally by saying that he knew she meant he was massive... and when he insists too much..Priya eventually agrees, thus proving Ram's point. 😆

ROFL ... you like his overstuffed teddy bear personality? Interesting ... let's me try to side step the weight issue here. I do mind seeing a bloated, obese person on screen as a lead protagonist. To be brutally honest, it is certainly not pleasing to the eyes. But Ram's acting, persona and charm make up for his obesity. He's a natural actor and you have to give it to him... while other obese actors, often get conscious of their weights and get side tracked into doing stereotypical comic roles, Ram has remained true to himself and maintained his dignity. For that I give him extra brownie points and for that I'll watch him. As long as a person is comfortable with his skin, his confidence shows and it is that confidence that attracts attention - regardless of whether the person is short, tall, dark, fair, thin, obese etc ... it is how you carry yourself that makes the difference.

Edit: WORD Mash - It makes me cringe. It is not even a classic love-hate relationship. Dang .. Ram and Priya have a much better dynamics that these two namoonas ... 🥱

How is this side-stepping the issue?😆...and yours was the original statement I pointed out too...but GG seems to have taken it personally and gotten upset over it too😕

I already mentioned from the very beginning that Ram CARRIED himself well and has natural effortless charm...but you never listened when I told you earlier also...now I guess you are noticing it more😆

Oh ouch, Lady M! I personally do not mind a bloated, obese person (grrr)as a lead. Why does a lead always have to be perfect. I toh am no fan of perfection, to be honest. You know I'm not even slight bit bothered by it. Chalo koi baat nahin...everyone has their own way of thinking.

@blue...elaborate! What's interesting...that I like Ram with his balloon-ess or is it interesting because it's difficult to understand why anyone would actually like his teddy-bear image?

Edit

I have something interesting to share with this 'weight' discussion but I'm tired and sleepy...perhaps in the morning...good bye, ppl!

Ditto...not that you asked me...but these are my thoughts on the subject too...I do not at all mind seeing a larger size person as a lead...and to me, Ram is still not obese...he's overweight but to me, obese is an extreme word for a more extreme condition.

My sister and my dad had the same comments on this issue as LadyM, GG and I said the same to them...ofcourse everyone has their own way of thinking but personally I can't comprehend how it becomes difficult to even LOOK at a person who is supposedly "obese"...to use the word DISTURBED is on the extreme side I feel but that's just my viewpoint.

I feel that if the flaws or drawbacks to a person are shown in a very natural manner, it makes the character more identifiable...which is the case with Ram here...his weight issue is one of those flaws along with a host of others...

If Ram did not look the way he did, this character would not develop the way it's developing...so it's a choice...either you BEAR an "obese" looking person if you want to see the full scope of the story developing or you move on to more aesthetically pleasing eye candy...simple😆

There are different types of actors and characters...for this show and the kind of character this is, this works out...and who knows...in the process, Ram just may lose a few pounds and actually surprise everyone😆...but yeah one can't expect a TONED Ram anymore...that's not happening😆

*Edit: Ok bye...see ya later.

Hey Anu,

No don't be sorry yaar... 🤗I realized I took it way too seriously earlier.. I have been overly emotional these past 2 days, and after reading your message I was upset for absolutely no reason at all! Believe me, if it had been any other day I would have been perfectly fine

If I had given it a second thought, especially this morning when I first read your message I should have realized you were talking from the point of a view of a character, which is very well justified.

I guess me, you, and LadyM all of us look at it much differently, and we are all entitled and justified from our stand point, but yeah lets drop this discussion :-)
