If this is the best Ekta could do, she should retire. I thought she was trying to cater this show to the mature audience...as there's no young, teen-ish couple involved here...she changed the age of her characters not the content of her show. Everything was so typically Ekta...There was a time when I would have tolerated such stuff...but ab toh it just seemed sooo stupid to me.

Characters were the biggest disappointment to me...sooo typically Ekta-ish. The smart, blunt business tycoon with a heart of gold...*rolls eyes* and Priya toh is even MORE blah...your average seedhi saadhi Ekta heroin. You know...sab ko khush rakhne ka jis ne theka liya hua hota hai. Ok, to be fair I understand that these two have a vulnerable side which, I guess, is because they are neglected by their respective mothers (though I think that woman is def Ram's step-mother)...the reason why these two are so eager to please their family and probably the reason why Ram has some 'insecurities' and Priya hasn't found a person she could love/marriage even though she's one hell of a love advocate...which brings me to the LAME LAMEEE scenes and situations...

This chick is taking a TOEFL class, teaching KEATS in HINDI and lecturing them on LOVE and MARRIAGE...W*FFF!! Kia Ekta ki team main koi bhi parha likha nahin...can't they even research? Aur the crorepati Mr. Ram kapoor ki toh kiya baat hai...2 crores necklace going waste...no problem...need a private jet...piece of cake...BUY the owner's third class company...ummm...kyun Ram Kapoor Ji aap ke paas apna private jet nahin...tch tch tch...itna sa bhi business sense nahin is admi ke paas, pese ki qadar nahin...how in the God's name has he become such a high fi business tycoon?!! STUPIDDD!!!

I didn't even have high expectations...I know this is a formulaic K-soap basically so that's not going to change...but still I found myself annoyed with many things and not a single genuine moment I could REALLY connect with...well slightly with when Ram says which girl would want him but I found that to be a bit just thoosoed in randomly to show the "vulnerable" side of his character...epi was rushed...and don't even get me started on Priya's LOVE GYAAN *headdesk*...WHY can't they let a character be more SHOW than TELL?! WHY does every Kekta heroine have to baanto love gyaan like this?? GAWWWD...

Kal raat ko I was watching one epi of vintage LTL before going to sleep...I tell you Mash, ZAMEEN aasmaan ka farak hai...and that's when you realize that Kekta NEVER wants to go beyond surface level in her soaps and show NUANCES to the characters...just the way that epi in LTL was shot...EVERY character, every dialogue, every camera angle actually INTELLIGENTLY incorporated...pulling you into the story so completely...making you CARE for the story, CARE for the characters...and uske baad to watch such a half-assed job the way they did with this first epi of BALH...what a waste...such great actors they have, such a great song to use...but instead they use wohi purana SADA HUA background score from every K-soap and show such TYPICAL cliched K-soap situations in such a STALE manner...*sigh*

Maybe things will pick up as they usually do later on with K-soaps but the QUALITY...writing-wise/production values wise...VERY poor...only the main actors were good obviously...baaki toh...hmmm

And oh I have to mention...GYAAN is Ram's best friend?? ahahahhahaha😆...I do like this actor though😆...still Gyaan was his best role ever...pata nahin is show mein aage jaake kya karega😆

LOL Gyaan is the guy playing Ram's best friend in BALH...his name used to be Gyaan in Bhaskar Bharti, a show that aired sometime back on Sony...I just always remember him by that name only now...LOL...he was HILARIOUS in that show! haha

LOL dunno but I guess that was one show that was worth watching...pretty different and amusing with all the quirky characters...lol...Ragini was fantastic as Bharti and so was Vivek Mushran as Amarjeet who's a CLASSIC in my opinion now...and then there was Gyaan and Vineeta...lol
