Mash - Your latest crush IS indeed drool-worthy. I like him ... ;-)

Anyone home? Sorry for disappearing in the afternoon, lekin my boss should up randomly as usual to discuss shtuff ... ahem. How does one deal with someone who is supposed to transition work to you, but is having a hard time letting go? How do you politely say, thanks, but no thanks? Yaar, I wish I had some of that aggressive/assertive attitude that's needed for the job these days. I fear too much about hurting people's feelings. But then I am so tired of playing a second fiddle to my colleague. She expects me to do all the donkey work and "report" the progress to her so that she can report it back to the higher ups. *rolls eyes*

However, now I think as long as JKR weaves a completely new story with the new gang and doesn't give too much footage to the original characters, it will be easy to remember the first series as one individual entity and this one as a spin off of sorts. Harry, Ron and Hermione can make cameo appearances when the kids go home for the summer, but that should be about it. I don't want the new series to focus on the same old stuff about Voldemort and his followers. It should have new villains, new professors and new adventures - with the basic setting/theme retained. That's my personal take on it ... lekin dekhte hain how it turns out, if the rumors are even true.

Hmmmm....I'm a die hard HP fan....like REALLY die hard....this series is very close to my heart and a part of my childhood memories in a way....I've grown up along with it....even if it was a 'young adult' series, I freakin stood in line on the day the books used to come out to buy them....the last one toh I actually drove around at midnight trying to find a walmart which had it😆😆

Anyways, my point is that some things should not be dragged out after a point....you should let the ending be and not try to extrapolate and go on random tangents beyond that point cuz sometimes there is a sanctity in the ending that should not be disturbed.....ppl want to exercise their imaginations....that's what FFs are for....but when a story reaches a logical conclusion, I see no reason to randomly start the same story all over again with the next generation of those characters....this is not a soap or a TV drama that such things need to be done.....do we see Lord of the Rings 4 being made?? The adventures of Frodo's kids?? Nope....then why exactly do we need to see a story about Harry's kids??😕.....HP7 was the end....and I'm happy with that end.....I'd rather re-read the entire series for life than have to watch a quite possibly cringe-inducing attempt to milk more of a 'story' out of these characters.

P.S. Love your Damon-Elena sig.....nice text!

Work place issues are blah ... I've been told that its more of a cultural edge that the Americans have at being direct, which I do not possess. Sounds familiar? LOL ...

So R.com is still looking to wow it's viewers? I thought that it was a done deal that it's going to be closed. I had heard rave reviews from people who watched the show. They truly liked it. I never got around to seeing it due to timing issues. Maybe when the second season airs ...

Edit: Chalo me off to bed. Chat with you tomorrow...sweet dreams :-)

LOL I dunno about cultural edge....I've seen some pretty tez Indian ppl at work too...lol

R.com's season renewal is still unlikely....the new article just says that Sony MIGHT consider if they get enough viewer feedback asking for a renewal....so it's all vague at this point still....I'm not holding out on much hope though.....LOL so it might be pointless for you to wait for a second season to watch it, LadyM....that is IF you still want to watch it :P haha

*Edit: G'nite! See ya later!

OMG you too? Same here! I'm a very, very ardent HP fan. One of the reasons it's close to my heart is because just like you, I kinda grew up with it. I've got so many fond memories attached to the series. And lol, I too used to buy the books right on the day they came out. It was such a wonderful phase, haina? Waiting patiently for the next book to come out, keeping an eye out for any news regarding the release dates, re-reading the last book to 'prepare' for the new one (or at least I did that ... lol) and finally rushing out to buy it. The excitement of holding the newly purchased HP book in your hands was something else, man! *sigh*

You know what, you have a good point there. And suddenly I'm not feeling that excited about the sequels ... since I also subscribe to the theory of leaving a series untainted by avoiding any sequels after a logical end, reading your post reminded me of that.

But oh well, I guess if JKR has to come up with the new series, I'll surely read it. Hopefully it won't ruin the image of the original HP series.

About the Damon/Elena sig, thanks ... but I didn't make it. Found it in the Vampire Diaries book club section of IF. :-)

@ bold: While I can relate to that feeling, I'll say this - you can't let people push you around all the time ... at first they'll pretend to appreciate your kindness and then use it for their own benefit while sweet talking you into thinking they love how you you are oh so generous towards them.

@ blue: WTF? That's one of the worst things to deal with at work. Talk to her about it ... or if possible, seek out someone who has some kind of authority over her and discuss the matter with him/her. It's easier said than done, I know ... but you shouldn't sit back and let her dump everything on your shoulders and worse, take the credit herself!

Guys tell me one thing, is Fox giving another mid-season break for Bones, AGAIN? How come there was no new Bones episode last week i.e. after the High School Reunion one? :S

Coming to the HS episode- I was kind of surprised to see absolutely no awkwardness between BnB whatsoever. Being aware of the undercurrent strong feelings for each other is one thing and then coming out in the open about them is another which is why I sort of expected some awkwardness between them this time, especially from Brennan since she had been in denial all the while and the 100th episode changed it with Booth finally being upfront about his feelings and Brennan also acknowledging her feelings although she wasn't willing to give it a shot like Booth. Anyways, LOVED LOVED LOVED the dance scene between BnB, especially when Booth closed the gap between them in the slow dance 😍 although he was bent on dancing with a sufficient amount of distance between them initially LOL

No Kavya....there isn't any more break b/w Bones epis till the season finale in May now.....an epi did air last week....it was called "The Predator in the Pool".....maybe it wasn't uploaded on the site you checked....but it did air.....we all discussed it last week too. There will be a new epi airing this week....the rock and roll fantasy camp epi.

As for the HS reunion epi and the issue of awkwardness.....hmmm....lemme dig out my old comments on this....can't type it all out again....lol

*SPOILERS*

@Tasha: Booth was deffo holding himself back in the beginning and at many other points in the epi too.....see Booth has basically changed overall since the beginning of season 5....there has been a relative sombreness to him ever since he realized he loves Brennan....and he's felt confused and helpless most of the season....it's shown on his face and in his body language....but post the 100th epi, the sadness has deepened in a way and he generally does hold himself back even more now....even though there were lighter moments in the epi as well....like when he started laughing when he saw Brennan's HS pic....but I think those were more like spontaneous moments where Booth's basic happy go lucky nature does slip out...and I think somewhere he tries to keep things not so awkward for her sake as well in general....yet the awkwardness could definitely be felt in many moments in the epi.

Regarding Sweets....I think both him and Booth both know that Sweets knows he's in love with Brennan....I don't think Booth's told him about confessing to Brennan but he's just showing in general that he's trying to move on....that's what I got from the scene....I think if he had told Sweets, there would have been a proper scene about it, nahin??

The dance scene....*sigh* It was just so so soooooo beautiful...I've rewatched it so many times now...the song keeps playing in my head....and I so concur with what you said about Booth and his white knight syndrome...the moment he sees her in any kind of pain or any hurt, he'll come to her rescue, no matter how much it may pain him in the bargain *sigh*....it was such a wonderful moment....just two seconds before that when she wanted to hold him close, he pulled back cuz it would have been too much for him to bear in a way...but the moment he saw tears in her eyes, he instantly moved forward to hold her....and DB is SUCH a brilliant actor, man....that moment of transition in Booth's expressions that he did there was SO amazing! And I loved the transitions on Brennan's face as she holds him close and dances too....*sigh*....

LOL I think God broke the mold once he made Booth....whether it's fiction or reality....there really isn't anyone else like him....*sigh*😍

@Tasha: Yeah it was painful on a level too....if the 100th epi hadn't happened right before this, this HS reunion could have been more fun with all these awkward moments not feeling painful in a way for Booth either.....but still I think they did a good job of balancing many things out.....that's a good point you've made about Brennan kind of showing off Booth and living her inner heart's desire out in a way through this undercover husband-wife thing in a safe way....So Brennan was happy in a way....but yes, for Booth it was much, much more painful....like you said, he's always trying to help his Bones in any way he can....but then I think....how could one hold out against her anyways....that moment when she gets so wistful about missing her prom after the stars come down....she's like a lost lonely child in many ways.....there is a very lonely and vulnerable Temperance inside that heart.....and that's what Booth can't help but respond to....no matter how much he attempts to move on even for the sake of practicality.....he may be a white knight....but this white knight seems to PARTICULARLY respond the most to Lady Temperance only ;-) lol

You know Mels....I do feel terrible for Booth....but I dunno if it's the genius of the way ED enacts Brennan's vulnerability or just the way Hart writes her scenes sometimes, my heart breaks for her too....especially in moments like her expressions after the stars come down....and I think how can Booth have a chance in hell of holding out against that expression, that vulnerability...and to top it off he's so hopelessly in love with her! It must be a million times more difficult for him to hold out even if he tried....he always loses that battle....lol.....Brennan has lived a very lonely and isolated existence yaar....just look at how her high school was....and this was all after the time her parents had abandoned her....her brother had left....later on in life, she had Zack and he too left her in a way....now she mainly only has Angela and Booth....

Things like these make me understand better why she said, 'I don't KNOW how'....she feels she's been damaged beyond repair....and nothing can make her change from the way she is....she fears opening up her heart in that manner cuz she feels way too much and past experience makes her think she will be hurt sooner or later again....

But she will yaar....I think end of this season she'll realize that she needs to give back to Booth too....and I think next season will be about her being there for Booth....remember what Pops told her?? We still have to wait for the scene when Brennan's going to be there to hold Booth when he cries....all of this is yet to come....they'll build towards it in some way I'm sure.

But yes, for now, I also DEFFO want to see a jealous Brennan when this Catherine shows up....I hope they show an angsty scene....any time Brennan has that expression with tears shining in her eyes....it just guts us in a way, haina?? ED is so brilliant in those scenes.

*Edit: Forgot to add....totally agree with your last line....I would want Booth's misery to end too....but that angst, that pain somehow pulls me in even more....his love for her against all odds is what makes Bones so amazing.

Basically if you want to read all the discussion around that time, check out the last CC around pg. 130 or something I guess😆
