Do u think that my choice is that bad😉
Is this the guy you were drooling on😆
Her name is Sally Jackson and she's the best person in the world, which just proves my theory that the best people have the rottenest luck. Her own parents died in a plane crash when she was five, and she was raised by an uncle who didn't care much about her. She wanted to be a novelist, so she spent high school working to save enough money for a college with a good creative-writing program. Then her uncle got cancer, and she had to quit school her senior year to take care of him. After he died, she was left with no money, no family, and no diploma.
We have read in books, watched movies and heard references made made by people we know that only good people face more difficulties in life. Do you believe that only good people face ill-luck all the time?
I guess u can answer this question without reading the book... 😊
There isn't anything like rottenest luck or ill-luck, we sketch the path of our life ourselves. Whatever we face in life, is an outcome of the decisions we took. And there is no changing it, at any point of time, we would make the same decision provided the same conditions. So all our decisions are always conscious decisions. and not just some random decisions. They will never change, so we should happily accept them and lead a happy life.
It was Sally's decision to quit her education and take care of her uncle, and she should feel happy abt it that she was not selfish enough to just keep the money for herself and not take care of her uncle. Moreover, She can always be a good writer if she has the talent. Agreed a good education and training is required, but if u r exceptionally talented, life makes exceptions for u too!

Tough question.
I do tend to believe in this theory at times, good people face problems more than the other people. I think it's god's way of testing his people. God tests good people all the time by giving them bad times, he gives bad times so we could value the good times more:) The people who don't have bad times don't value good times at all since they don't know life could be bad too.

I agree, but there's also the notion that bad people deserve bad (luck) things so no one cares when bad stuff happens to them; and good folks deserve good so everyone cries foul when something bad happens to them. People tend to forget that life doesn't work that way, if it did, this would be heaven yeah? 😊
I have had rotten luck so far..So I guess that proves your theory😛

I think it all depends on situations. How many of us are exceptionally talented at one thing or the other, though? 😕 There are many people who may be just mediocre in things that they do, and may not have any exceptional qualities. Just giving a hypothesis. Just because someone has an interest in something, doesn't mean they'll be actually good at it. How can one know what is meant for us?I do think that all things, good or bad, happen for a reason. Sometimes, the situation is such that things really are not in our hands. It reminds me of a line from our previous book, that if you fill a tub with water, and take out the plug and ask the water to go anywhere it wants; it's not really giving the water much choice but to go down the only opening it has, right.

Well, I won't ask for details. 😳😳I think we all do have things in our lives that does make everything worthwhile. I have had situations in my life, which at that particular moment, did make me feel that what rotten luck I have. Then I realized that I do have so many more things in my life, which I believe, I am lucky to have.I think most of us are quite privileged, but we tend to dwell on the smallest of things. I remember when we were in high school and if I would get even one question a bit wrong, and someone would ask me how my exam went, I'd tell them it wasn't great. When we'd get our results, obviously so many people who scored much lower would all look at me in disgust saying, THIS is what you get when you didn't do great. 😳 Point is, for some people scoring a 90% is still rotten luck, because they believe they could've gotten a 100, and for others, getting a 70% is still lucky, because they think that it is the best they could get. It all depends on one's perspective, doesn't it. 😃
Arre you guys I was just joking🤡
Bad things happen to everyone ..You just don't have to let them get to you.
Time works wonders☯️
Apart from Nitzy has anyone else started the book🤓

😆😆😆 Awww, I know. Still, it's good for general discussions. 😉😃😃I'm supposed to get delivery today. 😕 I might start my reading with the online version; though I do prefer the actual books. Hopefully, it'll be here early afternoon sometime. 😃😃
@bold
I believe in the concept of luck...just look at Jeb Bush/George Bush.
They may have worked for what they are but the fact is ,it was 1000 times easier for them because they come from a family of politicians and investment bankers.
There path was considerably smoother because they were surrounded by people who knew how to get things done.
I would compare luck to exposure and opportunity.

Actually, I am a firm believer in luck. Hard work is important, that much is completely true, because at the end of the day, we don't really know our luck factor. However, some people do really have all the luck. It's a mixed bag, I think and we all do get our share of 'good luck' as well as 'bad luck'. 😃😃
I finished the series a while back😉
Am going through the Nicholas Flamel series right now.
But I will read it again with yu guys👍🏼
And Nitzy don't add a ji for me either.
It is a habit I got from Blot ji.
You can call me Smita😊
You mean you will keep on talking till they accept😆
Btw Aladin ji I saw ur summary for the first CC..👍🏼
We did discuss the book the first time didn't we.
The 2nd cc wouldn't have much to summarize

Yes, I figured we'd do that, before the mods start to threaten closing down our CC. I don't think we are allowed to have too many unfinished CC's, and judging by how nobody seems to want to go back to the previous ones, I don't see how we'll finish them off. 😉 Of course, Mohit ji can use his 'administrative aversion' tactic to make us finish them. 😉😆😆LMAO, well, buzurgon ne kaha ke ke jab seedhi tarha se baat na bane, ahem, ahem, ahemmmm. 😆
Ji has become very contagious here 😊 ..... As u say Smita (ji) 😛
