Sonu, is right about it being the pig one. Okay, so Penelope's great grandfather fell in love with a maid and brought up the idea to marry her to his blue-blood family. Well, they all laugh at him so he thinks it is a lost proposition. Finding out the maid goes off to a hill and kills herself. The mother of a maid puts a curse on the family and says the next female in the family will be cursed. Well, for generations males were only born until Penelope. She was born with a pig nose. Her mother horrified tries to hide her daughter from the press and does successfully. They try to lure blue bloods to be interviewed by her and forces them to sign a non-disclosure agreement and they always run away upon seeing her nose. Now, Penelope played by Christina Ricci is fed up with the nonsense, and after two people suffer due to the mother's overzealousness to protect her daughter in terms of their repuations and careers, they decide to get revenge. They do this by hiring James McAvoy, who they assume is this one blue-blood with gambling debt and how has lost it all to be bugged and trick her that he has fallen in love with her. But he sees her than more than what she seems. Of course, unbeknownst to Penelope all is not what it seems.
