Chapter 2(C)

Notice has been displayed in the college notice board regarding the NEW YEAR event tomorrow night.

The programms and about the party at night in the college. Students who are interested to participate and volunteer can contact the regarding person and the details are given there.

Taani and Sharon were near the notice board trying to see why the crowd was here.

Rey on the other hand was on the other side of the crowd trying to get a glimpse of the notice.

Sharon went aside to pick up swayam's call. Taani pushing the crowd went forward and banged into somebody.

She looked up only to find rey already staring at her and just smiled at him to bring him back.

Rey-Hi taani, he said beaming with a wide smile seeing her.

Taani-Hey,she said returning the gesture and turned to have a look at the notice. Rey also did the same.

Taani-Yaar why the party has to be in basketball court? Seriously, that means no BB till new year Ahhh!!! she exclaimed loudly making rey look at her.

Rey-Wow! I thought im the only one who is going to miss BB but I got someone else too,he said making her smile at his statement.

Taani-Yeah! Anyway wanna join to volunteer for the party? She said as they stood there as crowd started going away.

Rey-If you are then yes im in too,he said making her blush.He was elated when he found her blushing.

Taani pushed her hair behind her ear trying to control the blush forming.

Taani-Okay lets go! She said looking everywhere but him. Rey followed her quietly as they enrolled as volunteers.

Rey-So now what? he said as taani came asking what should be done from the event head.

Taani-first we have go to storeroom for taking required things to decorate the BB court. We have to take fix up the colourful bulbs. We need a ladder for that. All those are in storeroom so let's go.

Rey nodded and both of them left for the storeroom to collect things.Rey was talking with taani

about the disco night on the new years night and all when they met Vicky on the way.

Vicky smirked as he saw them together talking and approached them.

Rey-Dude! Where were you? He said giving him a brotherly hug. Taani too smiled at Vicky unlike last times.Vicky gave a teasing smile to rey when she smiled at him.Rey told about volunteering and all while taani stood their browsing on her phone.

Rey and taani went towards storeroom as Vicky pretended to leave.Rey was searching for the ladder as taani looked for bulbs.Vicky slowly tiptoed to the storeroom and locked it from outside making sure nobody has seen it. They both dint notice this as they were arranging things what they need.

The bulb which seem to glow in the storeroom started flickering and suddenly blacked out.

Taani screamed loud enough but only rey could hear it.

Rey-Taani,what happened? He asked as he searched for her in the dark.

Taani-Reyyy!!!! She cried as she heard his voice.

Rey switched on his torch in the mobile only to find her cuddled in a corner.He went near her and kept his hand on her shoulder. He kept the phone on the table nearby to provide light. Taani had her eyes closed, he made her stand on feet.

Rey cupped her face and tucked the hair strands stuck on her face due to the sweating in dark.Taani clutched his shirt tight in her fist.

Rey-Taani open your eyes, he pleaded as he saw her scared face.Taani nodded in denial.He rubbed the worry lines formed on her forehead softly.

Rey-Taani Taani look at me! Im right here see open your eyes. Please Don't be scared im right here.

Taani slowly opened her eyes and saw him right infront of her.Rey gave a assuring smile as her grip tightened on him.Taani's eyes moistened as tears threatened to come out.

Taani-Rey! Im scared of dark,please do something,she pleaded in a broken voice.

Rey-lets go out ok? Don't be scared nothing will happen to you im just here,he said comforting her as he wiped off her tears.

Taani clinged onto him as rey made his way to the door with the help of his phone.

Taani clutched his shirt with one hand whereas other hand was interwined with his hand.Rey encircled her in his arms keeping a hand around her shoulder almost like side hugging her.

They reached till the door only to find it locked.Rey looked at taani who looked scared and worried.

He turned her towards him as tears spilled out of her beautiful eyes.He blew soft air on her face cupping her face.He came closer to her and wiped out her tears.Taani looked at him locking her eyes with him.

Suddenly something fell down in the storeroom making loud noise.Taani hugged rey as tightly as she could making him stumble.She wrapped her arms around his torso and buried her face in his shoulder.

Rey brought her close to him wrapping his arms around her.He held her waist as he caressed her hair assuring that he is with her.They stayed like that for long time in silence before taani broke the hug.

She nervously looked up to his eyes only to find love and care for her.Rey broke the trance to avoid making her uncomfortable.He tried banging the door with the other hand holding her hand in his hand as there are no signals to call for help. After sometime they came out as somebody passing by opened the door.Taani sighed in relief whereas rey smiled at her.They took the things to get back to work.

Rey-Taani you okay? He asked her as they walked towards the court.

Taani-Yeah better now,thanks rey,she said as she gave a soft smile to him.Her feelings towards rose up high seeing his care towards her,how he dint take advantage of her state and try to come close to her.

Rey stood there for a moment lost in her smile. He blushed as he ruffled his hair and followed her.

Vicky and his friends grinned as they saw them coming inside the court.They were working there too.

Taani and Rey started their work,rey was on the ladder fixing up the bulbs whereas taani was guiding him to do so.

Finishing the work rey was getting down the ladder when he missed a step and ladder stumbled.

Taani - Rey careful! She said as and held his hand as she helped him down.

They were lost in each other's eyes whereas his friends were sure now that taani has fallen for rey now.But for rey,it was different.He wished the time stopped as he looked into her eyes.She is not what she potrays herself.Slowly he has seen her what she is.Taani on the other hand cant ignore her feelings for him.She has already shared her feelings with Sharon.TaaRey went back inside the college and it was time to say bye for today.

Rey-So? he said rubbing his hands together.

Taani-What so?

Rey-That's all for today. What about tomorrow?

Taani-Tomorrow? Umm..as of now I don't know whats tomorrows work.I will let you know, she said glad that he is helping her.

Rey-Arey!Not about that.Okay hmmm...can we meet in canteen tomorrow?, he said as he wanted to tell her his feelings.

Taani-Okay!but why?,she said confused

Rey-I want to tell you about us...I mean something, he said indicating her what he is gonna talk.

Taani nodded as her cheeks were pink with slight blush.Both of them left saying bye.

At night,rey was thinking about all the time he spent with her and smiled widely when he thought about the hug that sent shivers down his spine.No girl made him feel like that.He slept thinking finally he is gonna tell her tomorrow everything before she comes to know it from others.

Taani slept thinking about him,their moments and his care.She thought of telling him how she feels about him tomorrow.

They dint what is waiting for them tomorrow.How they are gonna welcome their new year?
