Firstly congratulations to the Creative team, for the first time we got a D3 mega-episode that wasn't a total dampener. 👏
I'll not go into the camping date thingy because a) however romantic I felt it was a pedestrian attempt to appease fans and b) it will anyway receive a great deal of attention.
After tonight's episode, Rey has lost all sympathy, and indeed, nothing can possibly justify his behaviour or the SLAP in the end. But it will be terribly unfair to ignore all the factors that contributed to this violent outburst of pent up frustration on Rey's part. It will be utter blasphemy to blame Rey and yet sympathise with Sharon. Why can she not let go of the control freak in her? More so, why does she not get a clue when things get out of her 'control'? She finds Rey's shoulder to cry on when things are bad between her and Swayam, fair enough. But why aggravate the already volatile situation? Why could she not find the time to tell her best friend that everything is fine between her and Swayam, after calling him up in the middle of the night and crying? And worse, she unwittingly, revealed private conversations between her and Swayam, of which she had herself accused Swayam.
Even earlier, Sharon's impulsive behaviour has invited turbulence in her and Swayam's lives along with the Louisans (Shivam-the great). Even earlier she has hidden things from Swayam and regretted it majorly (the whole pink valley article fiasco during their trial relationship). And every time she goes into this rant about how she's not a good girlfriend and how she doesn't deserve Swayam-the ever-forgiving loverboy. One wonders if she hears her own words. Today she promised Swayam that they'll communicate more, share stuff, and that she'll try to understand him, instead of yelling all the time, which was a very positive step in their relationship. But the very next moment she retreats to her true self and blatantly lies to Swayam, thinking she'll 'handle' the situation later. And as always the situation is not in her hands to 'handle'.
How long, just how long does it take to learn that manipulation is not a solution, it's a temporary escape? How long does it take for her to know that Swayam will be with her no matter what if she tells him the truth? How long does Swayam have to bear the consequences of her hasty actions?
For the first time, I don't want Swayam to forgive her, not so soon. Sharon Raiprakash needs a reality check.
