Till My Last Breath
Life can be such a bitch. Once it gives you everything, and then snatches it away. When you feel that everything is perfect, life give you a shock and your world comes crushing down. Life has always a way of crushing you, and breaking you into pieces. There she was stting on the window, thinking about him. Why he did that. What went wrong? They were made for each other, but yet not meant to be? They were inseparable. They loved each other, she knew that she meant the world to him, and then what suddenly went wrong? Why did he break up with her, and broke her into pieces? She was thinking, about him, when she heard her best friend rey's voice.
Rey: hey shar…
She coming out of the trance, looked at him, and gave out a small but fake smile. And said,
Sh: hi rey…
Rey went and sat in front of her. And
Rey: you okay?
Sh: hm…
Rey: sharon you need to get out of the house, you know chalo ice-cream khaane chalte hai?
Sh: nahi rey, tum jao mera mann nahi hai…
Rey was about to say something, but then thought to give her some more time. So stood up and started to go, when he heard sharon's voice,
Sh: hey rey, um… chalo chalte hai….
Rey beamed with joy, and excitedly he holded sharon's hand, was started to make the way out of the room. Just then sharon stopped, and,
Rey: kya hua shar, tum ruk kyu gayi ?
Sh: rey, thank you, for always being there, and being soo supportive…
Rey smiled, and took her in a tight hug, and
Rey: hey come on shar, tumhare best friend hun, aur best friends ko thank you nahi bolte…hm…
Sh: hm…
Rey: chalo…
And with this they went, and sat inside rey's car. As rey started driving, sharon got lost in thoughts...

Sharon and swayam were walking, on the road. They were friends, or more than that. They loved each other, but yet not confessed. They had to do some paperwork, as they were the CS and ACS respectively, so after their work, swayam insisted to drop sharon home, but sharon preferred to walk. So here they were, walking beside each other, in utter silence. Glancing at each other every now and then, and when the other one was caught glancing, they would just smile at each other. Swayam always wanted to propose her, but never did he got the perfect. He loved her with all his heart. And sharon always waited, that today he will propose her, but to her bad luck, he did not yet. They were walking, and suddenly it started raining. Swayam caught her hand, and dragged her under a nearby tree. They reached there, but both were fully drenched in the rain. Sharon was just trying to get at least, some water off her hands, and swayam was just starring at her, rather ogling at her… just then there was a lightening, and sharon being scared of lightening, just rushed into swayam's arms. First swayam was shocked, but when her heard her words,
Sh: mujhe bahot dar lagta hai, lightening se…
She was shaking, and swayam hugged her back, and she felt as if she was in the safest place in the world. After sometime she broke the hug, and
Sh: I m sorry, wo mujhe dar- - -
Sw: please-please, the pleasure is all mine, I loved that…
Hearing this she smiled, and turned to the other side, not facing him, he smiled at her antics. Just then she heard him say…
Sw: sharon…
She turned, finding him kneeled on the ground, she gasped and smiled,
Sw: sharon, you are the one I wanna, hold. You are the one I want in my life. You are the one that makes me smile. I do work, just to get your appreciation. You are the diamond in the, bucket full of stones. You are the one I wanna hug from behind. You are the one I wanna share my happiness sorrows with. You are the one whose lips I wanna feel upon mine. You are my life sharon, I cannot live without you. And I don't wanna live without you. One day you don't come to college, I feel restless. Sharon Raiprakash, I Swayam Shekhawat from the bottom of my heart, I say, I love You, I really really Love YOU…..
Sharon hearing this, all the while had tears in her eyes. She just made swayam stand up, and hugged him tight… and said,
Sh: I love you swayam. I really really so… mujhe nahi pata kitna, but itna ki tumhare bina jee nahi sakti… I love you, I love you a lot.. Swayam…

As the car came to a halt, sharon came out of her thoughts, and rey,
Rey: chalo….
She came out of the car, and was shocked,
It was the same ice-cream parlor, she and swayam used to come. All the memories came rushing back to her. Just then rey said,
Rey: sharon, strawberry right…
Sh: yeah…
Rey was about to go, when he heard her say, and he turned
Sh: rey, chocolate, not strawberry ,
Rey: but tumhe toh chocolate nahi pasand tha na…
Sh: hm, but just wanted to try it once…
Rey: okay…
Rey turned to go, and thought: chocolate swayam ka fav hai, isiliye tumhe, god why did you do this with swayam…
Rey went, and within minutes her brought the ice-creams. He handed one to sharon, and he started eating, as soon as sharon licked it, she went back to her memory lane…

Sharon and swayam were driving back to sharon's house from the college. Just when sharon started screaming,
Sh: stop the car, stop the car…
Swayam got scared as to why was she asking him to stop the car, so in a jiffy he stopped the car…
Sw: kya hua jaan?
Sh: wo, mujhe ice-cream khani ni hai,
Pointing towards the ice-cream parlor, with a cute face…
Swayam pecked her lips, and said
Sw: god , my baby tumne mujhe dara dia tha…
Sharon made a puppy dog face.
Swayam pared the car outside the ice-cream parlor, and both of them got out. Sharon sat on the bonnet of the car, while swayam went to get ice-creams for both of them.
In a few minutes, swayam came back and handed sharon her ice-cream,
Sw: ye lo, tumhare fav strawberry,
Sharon took it and smiled wide, and looked at swayam who was eating his fav chocolate, and she made a face,
Sh: yuk, chocolate…
Sw: come on sharon, its awesome…strawberry is boring…
Sh: what ever
Swayam had finished eating his ice-cream, but sharon was still eating, more like feeding her clothes and face, than feeding herself. when she was finished with her eating, she looked at swayam, and he saw a bit of ice-cream on her face, on her chin, under the lips. He leaned forward. Sharon was scared, so she leaned back away from him, they were on the road for god's sake. But swayam being swayam, leaned forward, and sharon in anticipation closed her eyes. Swayam leaned, in and licked all the ice-cream from her chin, and took his face back. Sharon confused, opened her eyes, and found a smirking swayam looking at her. And he said,
Sw: strawberry is not so bad either…
And half smiled and hit started hitting him on his arms…..

As she came back to her senses form the memories, her ice-cream was finished, and so was her relationship with swayam.
Rey: chale sharon?
Sh: hm…
Both of them sat in the car, and rey started driving…
Rey: shar, hum mere ghar jaa rahe hai, our gang is waiting for us there….
Sh: but rey…
Rey: no buts sharon, tum aa rahi ho….
Sh: fine…
Sh: um, kya---
Rey: nahi wo waha nahi hoga… he lost contact with us also, over the last month….
Sh: hm….
And with this, rey resumes driving. In 15-20mins they were at rey's house. Rey and sharon entered the house, and saw the gang there, everyone was there. Having FUN. She was a bit nervous, as she was meeting them after a long time. After her break up with swayam she had isolated herself from everyone. As they entered the living room, rey said,
Rey: dekho guys who is here…
As soon as they saw sharon, everyone of them beamed with joy, and simmi and rinni took her into a rib crushing hug.
Simmi: how are u babe, ?
Rini: hume toh tum bhul hi gayi…
Sh: its nothing like that girls, I m fine…
She met all the gang, and now they were sitting in the living room, but neha was pacing from right to left. And then again left to right. She seems worried. So, rey asked,
Rey: kya hua neha? Tum itni pareshani kyu ho?
Ne: wo, babu abhi tak nahi aaya, and he is not picking up his phone also…
Nil: don't worry,
Ne: agar babu ko kuch----
She was about to say something, just then Vicky entered, neha just went and hugged him tight, Vicky was shocked at why was she behaving like this… he broke the hug and asked…
Vi: kya hua kagu? Tum is tarah aise…
Ne: babu, tumhe aate itni der kyu lag gayi? Pata hai kitna pareshani ho gayi thi main? Aur mere phone kyu nahi utha rahe the tum?
Vi: are, wo aaj mian der se utha, aur phir jaldi yaha aane mein apna phone bhi ghar pe bhul gaya hun, plus traffic isliye mujhe der ho gayi… kagu kyu itna tension leti ho tum…
Ne: what happening to kagu, agar babu ko kuch ho toh…
Vicky smiled at her innocence, and
Vi: I love you kagu…
Ne: I love you too babu…
And the whole gang including sharon witnessed this scene. And they all went like 'Awww' they all after this started having fun, but sharon was lost in her thoughts..

Everyone was present at shaorn's house. They were going to have a party. But sharon was waiting for swayam. And was pacing from left to right.
Rey: are aa jayega wo, tension mat lo…
Sh: but re, I have a feeling, something is wrong, wo mere call bhi nahi utha raha hai…
Just then swayam entered, a bandage on his forehead, and on his hands. Sharon and everyone was shocked to see him like this…
Sharon rushed towards him, and had tears in her eyes..she carsessed his wounds and
Sh: ye- ye- ye- kaise hua? Swayam tum thik ho na… ye- ye---
She was not able to complete her sentences also, she was hell scared seeing swayam like this… so swayam just took her in a hug. And
Sw: I m fine, bas chota sa accident ho gaya ha mere…
Rey: chota sa..?
Sharon broke the hug and,
Sh: kaise hua accident?
Sw: wo main yahi par aa raha tha, but achanak se koi gaadi same aa gayi n could not control isliye ye…
Sharon ws bout to say something, when
Sw: guys-guys- chalo lets party…
Everyone hooted, and started the party. Everyone was dancing, and eating and having fun, even swayam with all his wounds, but sharon was there to take care of him, in the party. Soon the party got over, and everyone left. But swayam was still there. Sharon and swayam were sitting on the swing on the terrace. Sharon was siting on swayam's lap, her head on his chest. They were really happy. Just then sharon said,
Sh: agar tumhe kuch ho jata na, to main…
Sw: kuch hua to nahi na…
Sh: hm… but jis din tumhe kuch ho gaya, main bhi usi din apni jaan de dungi…
Swayam admired her, and then kissed her forehead….

She came out of her thoughts, when simmi called her…
Simmi: sharon chalo, hum pub jaa rahe hai…
Sh: nahi guys, tum log jao, mujhe ghar jaana hai…
Rey: but- - -
Sh: please rey…
Rey: okay… drive safe…
Sh: hm….
Rey: par tum jaogi kaise, we came in the same car..
Sh: nahi, re hum jab yaha aa rahe the, toh maine driver ko txt kar diya tha ki wo yaha car chod jaye, aur unhone chabi tumhare watchman ko di hia…
Rey: hm… ok yaa…
Sharon, went towards her car, and sat inside it. She started driving. All she could think of was swayam. The moments with him. Soon her car came to halt when she reached the beach. Beach always calmed her down. Whenever she was feeling low, she used to come here.
She sat there on the cold sand. Her feet inside deep in the sand. Her hands on her knees, hugging herself. She closed her eyes, and a long tear escaped from her eyes, as she thought of the day when her world came crushing down…

Sharon was pacing in anger from one end of the room, to the other. Yes, they had fought, for the nth time now, but minds it, this was a girls v/s boys fight. The girls and boys had fought over who were the better dancers, and then it had all started. But a while back, she had got a call from all the girls that they had sorted out everything with their respective guys, and that the guys had come to apologize to their girls. But still swayam had NOT. Boy, she was angry… how could swayam not come to manaofy her… she was hell angry… just then her door bell rang. She thought it must be swayam, came here to apologize. She thought of teasing him a little. She opened the door, and swayam barged inside her house. She was about to say something to tease him, but swayam said something before her..
Sw: its over sharon!
Sh: what is over?
Sw: our relationship, its over…
Sh: but itni si baat ke liye you are breaking up with me?
Sw: oh, please main isliye tumse break up nahi kar rah, not because of some stupid boys v/s girls fight. I just don't want you in my life… tumhe kya laga, main tumse koi saccha pyaar karta hun… oh please… gimme a break.. plus tum mere type ki nahi ho… I thought you are good but, yaar no I was wrong. I mean mujhe jo chahiye wo tumne mujhe diya hi nashi, salla kiss ke aagey toh tum mujhe badh na hi nahi deti,… I mean come on… and phir pure din, kaha ho? Kya kar rahe ho? Kyu kar rahe ho? Bas sharon,I have had enough…
So once and for all its DONE! OVER! Bye, forever…
Swayam went out of her house, banging the door, and there sharon sat on the ground, lifeless. She was just crying… her world had come crushing down….

She came out of her thoughts, when the ice cold water touched her feet. She stood up, and went towards her car. Her eyes filled with tears. She sat inside and started crying, her head on the steering wheel. After a lot of crying, her eyes were swollen, she was about to start the car, when she saw an old couple. Almost the age of her grand mom and grand dad. The old man, tried to hold the old lady's hand, but the old lady shooed off his hand, as she was shy… shaorn smiled between her tears seeing them… the old man caught sharon looking towards them… he smiled at her, to which she returned the smile… the old guy said something in the old lady's ear, to which the old lady blushed profusely… sharon smiled. Just then the old man kissed the old lady's cheeks, and she blushed and hid herself in his arms. Sharon smiled, and remembers how even she used to do the same… the old man smiled at sharon, and showed her a thumbs up sign. Sharon smiled and also showed him thumbs up sign, and started to drive.

She was driving, on the empty road. Was crying, at why god did this to her. Why swayam did this to her…

She reached her house. And went straight away to her room. She closed her room's door, and sat there only, back facing the door, crying her heart out….

Sharon got up, and looked herself in the mirror…
Sh: kya haal kar diya hai tumne mera swayam… I love you.,.. god please swayam ko bolo na ki wo mere paas aa jaye…. Main mar jaungio uske bina…. Please god….

She was very frustrated, that she threw the perfume bottle on the mirror, in no time the mirror was in pieces, just like her, her life was…

Sharon started throwing everything in her room here and there…. She even broke the glass table into pieces, with a bottle of perfume… all the glass was scattered on the floor, and she walked on the broken pieces of glass, hurting herself…
Sh: mujhe laga, Shayad, is kaach ke lagne se, tumne do dard diya hai, wo suppress ho jayega… but I was wrong, kaach nahi chubh ta swayam… tumhare words chubh te hai, mere dil mein….
She took out a piece of glass, from her leg. But that did not hurt her. While doing so, she cut her hand. Her hand was bleeding.. and all she was doing was looking at her bleeding hand…

She started crying, crying loudly. Her hands in her head, face dug in her legs. And all she could do was to cry…

She took swayam's picture that was lying on the floor in front of her, in her hands, and hugged it and cried… badly….

She was just looking at the picture, with swollen eyes, when she heard her phone ring. She thought to ignore it, but then she thought is it was rey or anyone of her friends, but deep inside her heart she wished it was swayam… so she took her phone that was lying in the bed, under the messed bed sheet, and saw that it was n unknown number. She picked up her call,
Person: um, sharon raiprakash?
Sh: y-e-s..
Person: I m dr. Mehta from city hospital, can you please come here, its about Mr. swayam shekhawat.
Sh: but-wht—
Dr. Mehta: please come here, then we will talk….
Sharon was scared, she was confused what to do, whom to call…. She just rushed out of her house, sat in her car, and started to go to the hospital. On the way, she just called rey, and told him everything, and told him to come to the hospital and bring the gang too…
She reached the hospital. Her feet were not moving. She was scared. She did not know what was going to happen now… slowly she went to the, reception. There she met Dr. Mehta, who was waiting for her…
Dr.: sharon?
Sh: yeah …
Dr. took her to a ward. They were standing outside the ward, but through the window of the ward, she could see swayam lying on the bed. She thought he might be sleeping, so she asked..
Sh: use kya hua hai? Why is he sleeping?
Dr: he is not sleeping dear, swayam is dead…
Sh: what?
Dr: he was diagnosed with lung cancer, a month back. And it was the last stage, so we could not save him. He was pretty sure that he was going to die, so he left this letter to you. Saying this dr. handed this letter to sharon.
Sharon was not shocked, she was numb. She did not know what to do. She was not even crying, she was just numb, just then she realized about the letter, so she opened the letter,
Dear Jaan,
Kaise ho tum? I know stupid question, yeh jab tumhe pata chalega to thik kaise hogi. Toh firstly, I m sorry. I am really sorry, for the things I said to you, I did not mean a word of it. Main tumse bahot pyaar karta hun jaan… sach mein, is liye tumhe dukhi nahi dekh sakta, janta tha ki agar maine tumhe bataya, meri beemari ke baare mein, toh tum pakka dukhi ho jaogi.. isiliye nahi bata ya… main tum par boj nahi ban na chata tha…. Sharon mere jaane ke baad, hamesha kush rehna…. Phir se wohi haapy sharon ban jaana… main hamesha tumhare saath rahunga… tumhari yaadon mein, tumhare khwabon mein… tumhari aakhon mein, tumhari ruh mein, aur tumhare DIL mein… please mere liye, move on, okay…aur ho sake to is nachiz ko bhul mat jaana.. hehe :P its funny, …
Hm… maybe its not… but hamesha kush rehan, jab bhi meri yaad aaye to bas aakhein band kar lena aur tum mujhe waha paogi… thik hai….. and lastly humare saare friends ko , meri taraf se sorry bol dena, I had lost contact with tem also…..

She sat there, motionless after reading the letter, she was numb. Just then the gang entered, they saw shaorn sitting on a bench outside a ward, they went near her, and peeked inside the ward, and saw swayam lying there…
Rey: kya hua hai swayam ko shaorn….
Sh: he is dead rey….
Hearing this, the ganf was shocked. The girls were crying, and the guys were numb to ever say a thing… sharon just showed the letter to rey…. Rey read the letter, and a pain of tears escaped her eyes… he passed the letter to everyone and after reading the letter everyone was shocked… numb… sad… everyone had tears in their eyes… just then sharon got up, and
Sh: main ghar ja rahi hun, taiyari karne, swayam, ko ghar leke aao tumsab please,okay…
Simmi: main bhi tumhare saath chalti hun sharon…
Sh: no simmi, main yeh aleke hi karna chati hun…. Please tum sab swayam ko ghar leke aao….
Simmi was about to argue, but rey stopped…sharon left the hospital… sat in her car and left for home….

After an hour or so, the gang came to sharon's house…
Rey: guys, please stay strong… okay… shaorn need us…
Vi: hm… aur dr. ne kaha hai ki swayam ki body, thodi der mein yaha par via ambulance bhej dengey….
Rey: hmm….
Saying this rey rang the door bell…. But no answer came, nor someone came to open the door. Her rang the doorbell again and again, and even banged the door, but still sharon did not open the door.; after a lot of wait, rey and the guys, broke open the door, and rushed inside… but her whole house was dark. All the lights were off… only her room's light was on… all of them rushed towards her room…. They went inside, and found her sitting on a wooden chair, he back facing them… rey rushed inside and
Rey: tum darwaza kyu nahi khol rahi thi…? Hum kitna dar gaye the ke kahi kuch… humne apna ek dost toh kho diya, ab dusara khone ki himmat nahi hai….
But she did not reply…. Just then rey's eyes went to her hand. Sharon had cut her hand. It was bleeding… everyone got scared, and rey with a lot of strength, checked her pulse, but he could not find one… yes she was dead,… she had committed suicide….rey had tears in her eyes, when he noticed a paper on her lap, he took it, and read it…
Dear Rey & guys,
I know tum log mujhe aise dekh kar bahot sad hogey… I know…. But kya karu… maine swayam aur apne aap se promise kiya tha ki jis din swayam ko kuch hoga, us din main bhi apni jaan de dungi… isliye maine yeh kiya…. And please guys rona mat okay… and meri ek wish hai, puri karogey tumlog, mera aur swayam ka antim sanskar saath mein karna… please… main uske saath hi upar jaa na chati hun… please… aur yeh wish main sirf tum logon se hi kar sakti hun, kyu ki, tum log toh jaante ho, mera aur swayam ka, is duniya mein koi nahi hai….hum aaj jo bhi hai, yeh paisa , ghar sab dance ki wajah se hi toh hai… and haa DANCE, guys dance kabhi mat chodna… okay… I want to see you as the best dancers/choreographers , of the world….
Lastly, hume kabhi bhul mat jaanaa…

As rey read the letter, he broke down in to tears, and he passed the letter to everyone, after the gang read the letter, everyone was crying…numb…shocked…. At the intensity of their love….

Later on in their life, they became great dancers, and achieved great heights, but never did they forget their two friends, who taught them the meaning of love… the friends who will always remain in their hearts… with them…..
