Life as a Student Teacher and Home Sickness
Though life became easy and settled, Chanakya felt a great longing to go back. But he couldn't for the information he received was a disturbing situation there.
He wasn't sure of whether Katyayan ji was still the minister in the D's court. And heard about senapati that he flee away from Magadh from the mendicants or travelers coming from Magadh.
He couldn't get any news from Kusumapur either and at times felt terribly homesick.
He was surprised at the reputation abt Magadh. Many questioned Chanakya quite seriously whether Nanda was actually a Man or a Demon. Chanakya used to reply "A Demon, of course, How else do u expect a man to bring to disrepute such a powerful state so quickly."
Chanakya was not happy at the mental attitude of the people as well as his fellow students indulging in petty issues to belittle other states.
He would say them "Don't forget that we bear a common heritage and our country is just one Aryavartha. We must not think in diverse ways but in a uniting manner."
He remembered Kayayan's words as he grew older and mature. He found a change taking place in his thinking. He realized that his vision was growing wider and the dream of seeing the whole of Arayavarta as one nation began to take root.
He owed his change to Acharya Pundarikaksha, who taught him Rajniti.
Acharya often say: "Faith is one's personal attribute; it can't be forced upon another. But still 2 diverse faith adherents can live harmoniously."
Chanakya was greatly influenced by the Acharya's teachings.
He thought "Rigidity of faith deadens its vitality. If water is bound it soon starts stagnating and gets polluted. But if it flows freely of course bound sideways, it turns into the river Ganga, ever pure, pious and nourishing."
