Aquaintance with Persian Guy and Knowing abt Foreign Invasion
Once Chanakya was busy writing something and then a badly clad but very bright complexioned young person approached him, escorted by an old student.
Upon enquiry the old student said:
"Acharya! He is Mehir, a refugee from Persia. He is willing to take private lessons from your honored self in statecraft."
Acharya asked "why private lessons? Why can't he be admitted in the university?"
"First, because he doesn't know our language and secondly, he has no money with him as he had to leave his land Persia in a hurry to save himself from the invaders."
As the information was new, Chanakya asked "Who are the invaders?"
"It's not very clear but he says some new power has arisen in the northwest and the whole of Persia is threatened."
Chanakya approached a senior student from Malav and spoke "Sinharan! We are passing through very grin times. The integrity of our country is threatened from within and without ' petty selfishness inside and mighty ambition outside'. (Then thinking for a while)'.
All right I would teach this young man privately. Make arrangements for his stay. But I won't be able to teach him for a long while for by the end of this session I shall be taking long leave to visit Magadh."
While he was preparing for his long and arduous journey, he heard the news of repeated attacks on the border by a variety of tribe, which were confirmed by the refugee from Persia, Mehir.

Discussions between Chanakya, Mehir and Sinharan
After some visits the Persian boy was able to converse in the local vernacular.
Chanakya asked Mehir "Why did u come to Takshila? Did you find this place safe?"
Mehir replied "I came here because of two reasons, Acharya. First, I knew you people are considerate enough to provide shelter to a foreigner and also, your country is quite rich in resources.
Secondly, the invaders were thrusting us down towards the east. Since the high mountain range in the north and the sea in the south made escape difficult. I sought refuge in your country.
Moreover, I always cherished the desire to see this wonderland where people are so rich, yet so considerate and peace loving!"
Chanakya was convinced with the statement of Mehir that he was speaking the truth.
Chanakya explained and asked "We are peace loving and considerate no doubt. But by no means cowards. We gibe shelter to the distressed but have the capacity to repulse any attacker. But are these invaders with an organized army or just large groups of dacoits and hooligans?"
Mehir replied "All these are basically looters, without any morals. I had hears in Persia that a great storm was developing in the far North West, in Macedon, whose new ruler is very ambitious. It is said that he wishes to conquer the world."
Chanakya admitted that he knows that as he had also heard about the ambitious ruler from his greek students who were about a dozen educated in Takshila.
Infact he had known a lot about greek thinking and philosophy, which he found to be resembling the Aryan thinking.
Their concept of philosophers, warriors and traders had their echo in the Brahmins, Kshatriyas and Vaishyas divisions of the Aryan society.
He said Mehir "I also know that this ambitious storm won't stop in your country. We have also to prepare ourselves for taking on it."
Turning towards his other student, Sinharan "as I would be going to meet Kulapati, you both learn your lessons and let me know your difficulties when I return".

A Journey towards Pataliputra
On getting the clearance from Kulapati, Chanakya was bubbling with excitement on one hand. And on the other hand foreign invaders started moving towards the country with an expectation of easily smothering the country.
These thoughts gave Chanakya sleepless nights.
So he decided on the historical day, thus saying,
"Now the time has come to leave the university. The scrupulous rulers of the country must be uprooted and there is a need to strengthen the country politically and economically.
My first and foremost duty is to save the country of the foreign invaders and salvage this dangerous proposition."
With these thoughts in mind, he left Taxila University for Patliputra which paved the way for watershed changes in the politics of India and Patliputra.
He had learnt from sage Dandayan's hermitage that a group of hermits was going to Kashi and he had arranged for his passage along with them.
