Avantika - This is a fantastic start. I love how you have chosen to do a Sanskrit work as a story.

I am enjoying reading it. These are the important stories or plays we should learn along wth CGM story ( Fiction or Non-fiction).

CK's visionary thought is praise worthy. He does not want Amartya to be killed or going into enemy camp. He wants his services for Magadh. Truly a statesman !!!

Totally learning a good dimension of CK. Keep it up !!! Looking forward to next one.

My request please pick up 2-4 good Sanskrit lines and explain the sloka in your style.

Give some etymology references for nice Sanskrit words, if you can.

This will help readers like to appreciate the original work as well.

Thank you Amina. When I was in India I used to be an Assistant Professor at an Engineering College. So I have this habit of explaining things even when I no longer teach here in US.

Sangrava "Acharya... I think this man is a cheat. He is not looking like a spy to me..he speaks nonsense.

Spy stood up from his place and "it would be good sense ,nothing but good sense if I get intelligent ear to hear,my dear Boy.

Saying so, he handed over pictorial chart of Yama to Sangrava."bow to this God,for he is who carries souls of other devotees trembling at agony.
Sangrava was stupified and before he could say something ,Chanakya said"This Nipunaka ,my Putra. He is my trusted spy,who always carries chart of Yama with him. Appointed by me,to know the minds of men .
(Aloud)
Very well done Nipunaka. Take your seat. My Putra .Nipunaka took his seat near Chanakya.

Nipunaka " As noble one commands."

Chanakya in a very serious tone "Nipunaka.. Come to the point .From your words I come to understand that people are very much happy with Chandrasekar as their King.Am I right"

Nipunaka "Certainly they do. Acharya.Subjects ardently love his majesty Chandragupt of auspicious name.there are however 3 persons associated with Rakshasas ,who don't like Chandragupt. They are planning to create trouble to Maharaj.

Chanakya with rising anger" I should rather say they are intolerant of their own ease of life.(Aloud) Do you know their names My dear Nipunaka.

Nipunaka with all reverence" How should have I reported them to the revered one,If I dont know their names ?

Chanakya "In that case I should know their names Nipunaka.
Nipunaka "First One to side withAmatya is a Kshapanaka.(A monk).
Chanakya" A kshapanaka ,who could it be...
Nipunaka " Jeevasiddhi,by name who is directed against King Parvartaka,by sending him poison maidemployed by Rakshashas.
Chanakaya thinks "Oh,Its Jeevasiddhi,My secret agent.Seeing him lost in thought Nipunaka
"Acharya.. Do you know him?

Chanakya" No my Boy,you say me who is number two.
Nipunaka A penman,Sakthadasa dear friend of Rakshashas.

Again Chanakya went into deep thinking" OH yes,Its I have set siddhartaka to befriend Rakshashas.for its not proper to neglect an enemy however insignificant or powerful he is..

NIpunaka "Third one isMoney Lender living in the flower square named Chandanadasa.he is an alter ego of Rakshashas.

Sangrava" Alter ego.. How?

nipunaka " because he takes care of Rakshashas wife and Children. So he is very close friend of him.
Chanakya with doubts "How,My dear boy, are you sure that it his wife andd children.

Nipunaka looked at Acharaya and Sangrava. Took a signet from his pocket.and hands over to Chanakya. "Acharya.. Look at this ,it has name Rakshashas engraved in it".
Chanakya examined it "Yes Indeed.How did you get it.. Nipunaka. Can you tell me in detail.?

Nipunaka narrated his encounter
"Listen Revered Acharaya. I was commissioned by you to examine mentality of various citizens. In order to accomplish it,I disguised myself as a devotee of yama, and went singing songs of piety. Then By chance I happened to land myself before the house of Chandanadasa. At that time a five year old boy,with very inquisitive eyes came and enjoyed my singing. HE WAS laughing and clapping his hands.
At this arosed confusion inside the compartments. Some women cried "Not again this boy ran way out." Suddenly, a lovely woman came from inside the house and chided the boy and whisked him inside. As she was in hurry,the signet ring which she was wearing slipped .Alas she did not notice. I took and saw the name. Immediately,I came to understand who were they and hurried myself to hand over this to you.
Chanakya patted on his back."My dear good fellow. Here take this as reward. This is very small before your loyalty and reverence towards me.Now you may go.
Spy prostrated before chanakya and quickly disappeared into the thin air.
Sangrava could not understand how did Nipunaka went so fast without trace.
Sangrava " Acharya.. He is super fast in his strides.
Chanakay " Thats how a spy has to be.Hanuman is the foremost spy. Spy should be diligent and loyal to his master my Boy.

Chanakaya turned to Sangarava and instructed to bring inkstand and parchment.
"My dear ,Putra.. this is my testimony of victory over Rakshashas.
Just then someone rang the door bell
"Sangrava, An auspicious omen. Victory is ours.
After some time. Sangrava led Chandragupt
he came to meet his Acharya along with Durdhara.
They both fell at his feet

First of all I have no words to thank you enough for your effort of introducing me with this priceless piece of literature of our ancient India! i just cannot express how much happy I am to get the chance of reading a translation of original Mudrarakkhas, which always had been a fascination for me. It will not only help to write my ff, but also will help me to gather a good knowledge about that era, the real Chandragupta and Chanakya! Thank you so much again for coming up with this! A big sorry for being late. 😔 Will be eagerly waiting for the next update. 😳
