Wish that hair style was given when he was in takshila it would look OK but not on a samrat

It's not known exactly which samrat has wht look. Hair isn't the prob. Infact it made him look younger. Only a shave is reqd thts it.

The question is not of which samrat had which kind of hair. In most cases, we have only the coins to go by. In general, maharajas had long hair, as can be seen even from Raja Ravi Varma's 19th century paintings. But that is not the point.

The point, for me at least, is that Rajat had beautiful flowing locks, which made him look exactly llike a Greek statue. They framed his face and made the elegant planes of his facial bones stand out. Now, this looks like a modern haircut, and it has ruined the beauty of his hair, and diminished his overall looks.

If he was not so strikingly handsome per se, he would look ordinary because of this haircut. There was a shot of the old Chandra during the flashback to Durdhara's death scene, and the contrast was stark.

You young people can accept and admire this new thatch if you like. I do NOT like it, nor could I see any reason for it. Do they think the TRPs are gong to shoot up because of this? It only shows that the director had no idea what to do, so they thrashed about and came up with this.

On the other hand, I liked Chandra's new costume, like that of a Roman consul, without that 9 yard bedsheet.😉 If only they could have left the hair intact, it would have looked wonderful.

Anyhow, as I have dropped out of watching the show, it does not matter to me. Let them muddle along any way they like, and push my poor boy into more weird new looks!

See, you did it again. How do you always manage to put across the exact case, with the most accurate selection of words 👏 The statements in bold flawlessly echo my POV, thrice more fluidly than I ever would have been able to!

And yes:

"There was a shot of the old Chandra during the flashback to Durdhara's death scene, and the contrast was stark."

These:

Vs, these:

The answer is evident. And I think even his mukut has changed, it seems too big for his head! Now since Tokas is an integrally good looking man, the difference is probably a 70-30 instead of a 90-10. However, short hair also looks good on him, only perhaps in a different get up.

One last point, in the initial runs of Jodha Akbar, Rajat still had comparatively shorter hair, much like the Chandra now, but it somehow suited him better then - probably because of the size of the head gear vis-a-vis his hair and face. These things matter a lot in presentation.

I also like the styles of old chandra...the greek statue. But I am not sure whether this new outfit matches with that old hair style.
