Chandra was seated in secret Chamber where he discuss all political affairs .He only allows Chanakya Helena ,few top notch ministers and his most trusted spies and ministers in that room.He keeps it only for very important discussions related to safety and security of Kingdom.

CHANAKYA : I have something more important piece of information to share Chandra

Chandra : (in hush tone) : what is it ?...Is it related to Malayaketu (looks into Helena).

Chanakya : Operation Shikhandi...Padmanand is going to attack you from behind during Vasanth utsav celeberation

All of them dispersed. Chandra personally went to Avantika,released her and asked her pardon.Avantika felt happy. Chandra at apt time spilled his beans. Avantika was shocked. She was pursued by Helena to her room and she in turn twisted all about Nandini and made her believe Nandini rejected Chandra's Advancement. Durdhara and Nandini was deliberately sent to royal temple while these things were taking shape. Dasi's also gossiped about Nandini which made Avantika feel terribly shocked.
She went to Nandini's room

Yes, I believe there is a fort in Chanakya daughter's name. She was believed to have been in love with Chandragupta. It's not clear whether he was also in love with her. It's also not clear whether she committed suicide. Chapter 8 ,Part 2

It was late night ,when Chandra reached Nandini's room. He saw Nandini awake ,but did not come to receive him. He was anticipating it.He sat beside her closely in bed. Took her hand,But Nandini shrugged it off in anger. He tried to speak to her,but she did not speak to him. He tried kissing her as last resort,but Nandini broke it apart.
This made him quiet enraged "Nandini, listen to me "( in authoritative tone).Nandini did not budge in to his tricks. Chandra"Nandini,you dont know me. See these small tactics which a five year old kid can do but not you.. Definitely not my wife.
Nandini casted him a look,which was indicative that she is making fun of his words. Like Am I really your wife?

Chandra "Nandini, You don't know me.. I repeat... Now be a good girl. I just want you to look at me and smile"

Nandini turned her head in other direction."Nandini, smile ... I want you to look at me and smile".
Nandini ignored his words and looked out in balcony.

"Very well,Nandini. If you have this much ego,then as king how much will I have. In just another 20 minutes i will make you come to my chamber".

Nandini was sitting as though she was not afraid of his tantrums.

"Very well"..When he was about to say,

"Damad Ji ...Oh I am sorry.. I have disturbed you" saying Avantika entered the room. She was not aware of Chandragupt's presence.

I cannot lead a normal life...I have to deal with so many situations and yield to so much pressures. I am tired mentally. I want someone who would be available to me when I seek . My heart says that you will be there for me always. Won't you Nandini?

Nandini : I am always ready for you. but you always try to..demand some closeness. Why do you do that

Chandra : yes ,because I do worship beauty.

Nandini : How should I love you...

Chandra forced his lips to hers, turning a silent moment into a cool passionate one. He wrapped his arms around hers, pulling closer to his warm body. said "I can't believe I've waited full day to do this." And as quickly as he could, he brought his soft lips back to hers, to her neck, was kissing all over until he let go once again. She realized there were tears in his eyes as he whispered "I love you." Chandra did not lie . He spoke the truth of his heart.Nandini for first time saw his tears. She embraced him and both slept together till dawn.

Chandragupt is manipulating Nandini a lot. She is allowing him to do it too. But does she have a hidden agenda in all this. Which side will she choose, her father or Chandragupt during Vasanth Utsav? Good part.

That is the twist...

Chapter 9

Nandini finished her daily worship and sat to take meals. It was two days since she met Chandra. By that time he made announcement that Durdhara is JanapadaKalyani and Nandini is mukya Rani. They have to leave for Pataligram next day for Ksheer pooja.

Avantika and host of others were very happy because Chandra chose Nandini as Mukyarani. Nandini though in beginning was happy,but she suddenly developed suspicion that Chandra is using her to some hidden purpose. He suddenly treats her as an unwanted person in palace. These two days he was seen with Durdhara . Even Nandini saw them in each others arms in Royal Garden.She was not jealous of Durdhara,but she was sensing that Chandra is avoiding her. Nandini even went to see him but he did not permit her inside his room. Nandini was upset.

"Is Chandra playing tricks or he really loves me" Nandini's mind echoed these questions since morning. She could not share her feelings with her mother. Avantika will accuse her that she is not taken him seriously. Avantika literally wants Nandini to offer herself whenever She can. Nandini thought " Being physically close and mentally close is different".Slowly evening and Night arrived She tossed in her bed and at last came to conclusion. She decided to see if Chandra really likes her or is he acting for hidden vendetta. She summoned dasi and asked her "Dasi, Where is Maharaj now"

"maharani ,Maharaj is getting ready to go to JanapadaKalyani Durdhara's chamber in an hour. "
"Fine... you may go" When Dasi disappeared ,Nandini took a quick bath and dressed herself carefully. She was extra consious to appear asl good looking but not as seductress.She spalashed some lavender perfume which was mild . Long strands of Jasmine flower,few glass bangles on both hands, yellow dress and kohled eyes. Just simple makeup. She was dazzling like a serene Goddess. She looked out,she still had 15 minutes. Wasted no time , went to his chambers and sneaked in.

Chandra was standing facing his back and was writing some thing . Maybe related to governance,who cares.
Nandini purposely removed her anklet, and went to him. He was deeply involved in the work.
Hugged him from behind.
"Durdhara... " Chandra said
" I have caught you atlast... " Nandini spoke softly.
Chandra gathered himself " YOU NAndini...How did you come inside?

Nandini : by front door. Who could stop me...I am your wife.
Chandra: I am going to Durdhara now.
Nandini: Go,who stopped you. I just came to tell, that I am also very much present in this vast palace.
Chandra : who denied it?
Nandini : Nobody can ... In fact there is no one who can take me out...
Chandra : Oh... I get it...
Nandini: you dont get it... Because Just leave it..

Time passed, she heard footsteps and door opening sound. Some mild perfume lingered in her nose. Yes it was his perfume. "What ,he .. why..."

Chandra saw her laying in floors with her head down. He lifted her and pinned her to wall. " What is your problem...Just because I am married to you, I should not attend my other wives... Am I your waiting dasi... If I went to Durdhara ,you accuse me of manipulating you. Are you my equal... Is You are only way to reach Nand... Then why the hell I need A man called Chanakya..Common Nandini.. Your are completely immature.you understanding is very little. I am a King... I have duties to attend. What you think of me ... your words are like a bee sting... You wont understand... I am wasting my time.

Nandini ":then why you avoided me...
Chandra : you accuse me ...If that the case (he stopped)... What should I do now.. Should I serve you.

Nandini I am feeling lonely. I have no one except you.. This is my problem... (she hugged him tightly and cried.)
She continued "Durdhara and Helena are different. They have their maternal home somewhere,where their family is there,waiting for them. Father is there ,brothers are there. Look at me... I have a father who has been overthrew ed. He is cunning and selfish .. My mother who always says me to get physical with my husband to have place in his heart. Myself Nandini,who cannot understand herself and feels very terrible if her Love does not speak to her or comes to her. You may think these are silly expectations,but for me my day starts and ends with you alone. I cherish time spending with you... Problem is with you.. You think I am a born bought up princess whereas I consider myself as a girl who is happy when she is with her love.. You think I love golds and silks.. I am contented with a glass bangles... Now say me... Am I wrong... I dont want any title... I am happy ... I am happy with your company... I dont understand politics..I am least concerned whether you are a king or a commoner or even forest dweller. I am ready to run with you anywhere and everywhere.I cannot bear separated from you... Hey Krishna .. I dont know what language my husband understands.. If possible make him understand.

Chandra did not reply. He just looked with surprise .He did not understand How Nand's daughter can be so simple and sweet.

Nandini at last gave him a shock "Maharaj, YOu ARE late,Durdhara will be waiting for you. I felt like sayiing ..so said my feelings. You are independent... I am not stopping you.

Chandra : Its a wonder... How did you take birth as daughter of Nand... are you his daughter.You dont have any of his character..Even gods make mistakes.Yes I am getting late... I dont like wasting time.

Saying so he went towards the door. Nandini felt very sad... To her surprise, he did not go out. He just locked the door and came to Nandini.

Nandini smiled at him,he too smiled " I am sorry... " Just at time , small pleasant breeze flowed on Nandini's face making her curls fall on her cheeks. He just gazed at her eyes which spoke more than she spoke. He felt her intensity of love.. Then, he smiled and kissed her on the check and there was silence... after a while he embraced her and kissed her lips . Nandini and Chandra heard each others heartbeats . They waited for it to regularize. Nandini parted by kissing him on his neck and saying that I love you. He just kissed on her forehead and said "I too". Both of them fell on the bed..Whatever happened next is purely desired bliss.
