chapter 6

Nandini looked at this august gathering.Everyone was happily speaking with one another and enjoying the lunch. Chandra himself was very busy in speaking with the delegates. Female members of the family were sitting in group and chitchatting. Durdhara waived her hands at some lady and both started speaking. It seems they know each other very well !!! Chaya returned to her chamber because of her nausea.

Nandini sat at a corner of the hall aimlessly and looked at balcony. It was afternnon.The sky, a beautiful canvas graced with sky blues and pure milky whites. The blue in the depths beyond and the smooth, rounded, sugary sweet clouds in the foreground. A green lawn aand a yellow butterfly dancing above the steamy urban pavement with an invisible partner to a made up song.Nandini felt " I have never felt this much lonely! in my whole life...Life has no meaning for me.I am an unwanted guest here!! I cannot blame anyone...Pity me feeling so lonely...
HER THOUGHT WAS broken by a sweet affectionate voice "Mitra"
Nandini turned her head towards the voice and quiet unsure about what she heared

Nandini " My name is Nandini..you are mistaken I am not Mitra.
Lady : You are my daughter Mitra indeed... Common don't fool me...I know ...
Nandini was bewildered with her talks and tried to explain that she is not Mitra.Chandra came to her rescue and said
Chandra : Nandini , She is My Acharya Chanakya's wife ,Sujatha. And addressing the lady "Pranam , Ma"

Sujatha " Ayushman bava... Chandra ,is she is not Mitra... She is playing with me ,... You don't recognize her...
Chandra " Ma... yes she is Mitra.. How can I forget my Mitra... And looking unto Nandini "Mitra ,why you are playing with Ma,, Ask sorry"!he ordered her!

Nandini understood that he is doing just for Sujatha's peace so she asked sorry"

Nandini " Sorry Ma,,"
At that point of time, Chanakya came and took hold of Sujatha's arm and yelled

Chanakya : Sujatha ,our Mitra is dead... She has gone long back.. Why do you trouble by seeking her. She is maharani Nandini,Chandra's wife

Sujatha You may be right Arya,Mitra did die to come back in form of this girl to Love Chandr.a She mumbled
.Chanakya looked angrily at his wife. Chandra knows his mentor's temper so to control the situation

Chandra Dasi ,inko kaksh pe le chalo aur inhe vishram karne ki vyavastha karo..(After they vacated the room)

Nandini head started spinning . Seeing her perplexity, Chandra took Nandini to corner of rooma and Whispered

Chandra : She is my Mitra's mother... She is in disturbed mental state after my Mitra died due to snake bite.

Nandini Your Mitra? Isnt she is daughter of acharya... how can be she be yours Maharaj..

Chandra yes ,because That is true.. She was my Love...Love of my life and very existence.(tears flowed from his eyes).

Nandini Maharaj are you ok..

Chandra Yes I am fine... he paused to continue " She was my strength !!We both shared our feelings and everything was going smooth,until a snake came and bite her!!

Nandini Acharya knew medicines right

Chandra Nothing seemed to work. She collapsed right in front of everybody's eyes.What is the use of speaking now... I sometimes feel ashamed that I could not save her...

Nandini looked into his eyes to say something ,But he went away ignoring her...
He resumed his place amidst guest.Nandini felt ackward... She felt sorry fro him,since he lost his lady love right before eyes.She could not believe that Chandra could fall in love with someone.She could no longer sit in that hall. She returned to her room . Day passed slowly and was replaced by night.Nandini tossed in her magnificant bed . She was unable to sleep. Her mind was full of Sujatha ..She woke up and started making walk.Chandra came to her room and stood behind her

Nandini Maharaj,you at this hour of Night
Chandra yes,
Nandini Do you want anything maharaj
Chandra yes... I was seeking you for that only
Nandini What do you want Maharaj... Should I .. before she completed her sentence
Chandra I need you ,Nandini..
Nandini I don't get it ..

Chandra too felt bad for hurting her.Silence prevailed there for some time.
Nandini suddenly decided to give in.She too wanted it to ward off her loneliness. This very Nandini who plotted against him,now submitting herself unto him.Neither nandini nor Chandra know why they are seeking each other at that time. Both have their own reasons to hate others,but those things are completly meaningless now. Passion made them to long for each other company to forget their loneliness .Both were fed up with their own lives. They never lived for themselves.These two lonely souls which had their own sets of pain,sorrow,despair ...Chandra loved Mitra and he felt her in Nandini. Nandini though rejected him when he came to her, she was glad that her epithet as nand putri is replaced by Mitra. She liked the attention of him. Nandini is famous for mood swings.Thanks to her age. Even she does not know which side she will take. She decided to accept him

If you want to show my loyalty towards you by obliging your desire.Then I can do that for you.For you my Lord...I can submit myself to your feet.Nandini at last uttered
Chandra suddenly softened and turned towards her . He was happy and did not expect that she will yield to his pressure . He lifted her and embraced. He kissed passionately.

"I guess it's pretty clear now," he said in a husky voice. He leaned down and kissed her again.

Nandini swallowed lump in her throat seeing the intensity of passion in his eyes.Nandini closed her eyes.He grabbed her by his hand lifted her face and spoke "look at me Nandini, am I a tiger or werewolf.. I am not going to kill you or hurt you...See How much I love you"he continued 'I ve had many sensual experiences before with Helena and Durdhara, but this one is different somehow.I am more in touch with my feelings. My mind is calm and quiet now. And most of all, the experience is completely friction-less because deep down I knew that you are mine. It is a beautiful experience of Oneness.and pulled her close to his chest.
They felt really nice. Nandini begin to feel a surge of warmth, tenderness, and caring for her. Holding and being held by him was like being wrapped in a blanket of love.It was a beautiful and continuous flow of love waves.Her heart was pounding. Chandra scanned her face and brushed away her unruly hair from it."You look like a angel.." he remarked.


At that night where moons and stars looked upon them,their bodies became one,the shadows of the wall was a witness to pure desired bliss.It seemed like a fantasy!!
It was few hours before dawn. Both of them lay awake in their bed. They did not speak anything . Nandini broke her silence
Nandini : Chandra... Can I ask you one thing.
Chandra lost in thoughts ..What ...oh yes ..go ahead
Nandini What I want to ask you is ..(Hesitantly ) Can you please forgive my father..
Please dont kill him . For my sake ..
Chandra That is impossible Nandini
Nandini you have killed all my brothers...
please spare him.I promise he will not provoke you. He is already defeated
Chandra If you forgive a snake,it will come back seeking revenge..Your father is a snake monster.
He will definitely come to wage a war against me. Nandini you can have only one of us.
Its either me or Padmanand. WHom do you want.

The story and characters are coming out very well. Your descriptions and narration are becoming more detailed and even better with every chapter and update. It is a real pleasure to read this story. So finally the Mitra angle comes in. I am glad you brought in Chanakya's wife and also the fact that she seems to be a nice and sweet lady and not a shrew.

I brought a mitra angle just as a reason 4 chandra to fall 4 Nandini... else I dont have enough reasons at all to make him fall for her...i am using passion instead of love... I dont know whether there is any love bw them in this chp,but definitely they are smitten by passion of desire...Chanakya's wife is positive here

Chapter 6 part 2

NANDINI kept silent.She knew that matter will be blown out of proportion by him.Streaks of diffused light from moon filtered in through the curtains of the solitary balcony. She decided to get up, go to the balcony, open the curtains, look outside only to be pulled down by him.

Nandini sighed heavily,"Why .?what do you want now". .
Chandra sleepily replied "why do you want to go now,still night is remaining."
"Because Iam unable to sleep...came a tired answer from Nandini "Me too..I don't know what magic you have casted on me .. " Chandra seductively cajoled.

"you are mad..." Nandini smirked

"Is it You're like a madness inside me, a fever I can't cure." Chandra giggled.
NANDINI whispered "you are impossible... What do you think of yourself"

CHandra "I am a person with heart melting for feelings, touch etc etc..You by this time know what I meant"

Frowning at him with her eyebrows arched for few seconds .She did not want to react to his coax.
She shrugged him off and tried to get up again
Chandra held onto her hand to stop and looked at her intently "Why are you so quiet, I don't like my Mitra to be quiet ! I like my stubborn & talkative Mitra" He whispered.

He was hushed by Nandini's finger on his lips "My dear ,I am Nandini... dont address me as Mitra, it hurts me..." she said gazing at him "This is so hard for me to digest that You imagine your long lost Love in me...Don't you have any place left in your heart for me! We may look alike ,but I am a totally different entity with lots of feeling, emotions. NAndini is my name and my identity. I dont want it to be changed or replaced by anyone which I totally hate "She turned her face other side.
CHandra turned towards her cupped her face.Tears was continuously flowing from her eyes which made him more weakened

" I dont wanted to hurt you, It made me feel better when I addressed you Mitra, ok alright, If you dont like I will not call you Mitra. Now please stop crying"
Nandini irritatingly "I want you to love me! love me ...as Nandini ...I need that you claim me as yours and like that I will feel that there is no one between us"

Chandra looked at her innocent face who is still staring at him."ok, Let me see How to call you ... hMM I will call you as cute little khargosh"
"What Rabbit..Do I look like one..still Its lot better thAn MitrA".She gave him a punch in his chest .He pulled her towards him.Wrapping herself in his arms, she place her head on his chest and found his heart pounding fast. After some time elapsed which seemed like eternity.

"Why did you allow me to come close to you,I mean I never thought you would allow me ... " Chandra raised his doubt .

Nandini took a deep breathe . She did not want to make careless comments at that moment. She knew both chandra and herself are very fragile . Small words can devastate their relationship beyond repair. She is not certain whether he asked this question genuinely or had some other purpose.

"Chandra,because you came to me and pleaded before me. So I decided to hear your pleas. I dont want Emperor to fall at my feet asking for a favor" Nandini jested to cut short the talks.

"Well... I am glad that you listen to me... So I can believe that you have forgotten your past and accepted me as your husband" Chandra waited for her answer.

"Fretting over past isn't going to help either of us." Nandini eyes filled up with tears while speaking.

"Ha ha, In that case my victory is now complete. Its worth... To have a beautiful princess as a reward... Though Padmanand snatched me my rights,he could not resist his one and only lovable daughter falling for me... " Chandra chuckled.

"May be ,you are right. I have to ... accept you ... no other viable option left for me... Daughter has to bear father's wrongdoings in her back." Nandini mumbled, which Chandra chose to ignore and cuddled her fondly laying in the bed.He felt now that he was not simply close to her, but that he did not know where he ended and she began.
