I watched it again this afternoon, Disha, and I liked it better than the first time around, and better even than the first battle. For one thing, the overhead shots of the spearhead forces entering the opposing mass were very interesting.

There are 3 points in the whole battle where Rajat was excellent, and I do not mean the action; I will flag them in my post on these episodes.

What I did not like was the way in which he levitated in a circle to bring down all those Nand Jrs. It was unnecessary, and in the first battle, he did the same thing on foot in a superb, strong, circular sweep. The jumping from one shield to another to get at Nand would pass at a pinch, but that too was kiddish. Why get off his horse at all? He seems to do that at the drop of a hat and does not remount for ages. One is always at a disadvantage on foot.

I have not watched PRC, but if you give me some links to specific scenes, I would be glad to see them. I am sure they were much better. In Jodha Akbar, the battle for Amer was frightful, but Jalal was not there. The Jodha-Jalal bout was nice as such things go, though not as good as the one in the film, which of course had a different tone altogether. The one I was talking about was one you would have missed.

As for my PS, I was referring to your description of the spear scene when Rajat was introduced. Perhaps that word is so common for you young people that you do not even notice that you are using it, but it still puts me off a lot. Not that it is any of my business offering you unasked for advice. It is just that I am fond of you and I thought I would tell you what I felt about it.

I think what most of us want is Rajat in all his swordsmanship glory. 😆 With this I mean actual fights, where both him and his opponent are attacking aggressively and not just giving angry expressions and yelling. Plus the stuntmen in the background need to seem like real soldiers who are fighting and not just playing around. PRC was good at this aspect.
I think the mods will give me a nice beating if I post videos etc of other shows, but I can pm you some links if you like.
I've been spoilt by it you can say 😆
Mahabharata had VFX i agree, but it was tastefully used and since it was Lord Krishna's era,a little magical fiction didn't seem that odd as it was a mythological😛 Maharana Pratap,I dont remember watching this scene with Bairam aunty. Oh, it was there, my dear.Soon after than, I quit the show.

I stopped watching JA after the vishkanya track I believe,so I don't know if things became better post that, but until then, believe me aunty,he wasn't allowed to use his full potential. All I saw were clowns doing dandiya dance while fighting against him and there is only so much he could do to make it seem atleast decently good. He seemed over-qualified for the job given to him, while everyone around him seemed below average...I forgot that prince's name..Jodha's initial fiance? He fought a battle with him and that image is stuck in my head. It was horrible.

What I didn't like is the excessive VFX with Rajnikanth-ish action scenes, with everyone flying around. This has been reduced off late in CN,as opposed to that awful spear scene in Rajat's introductory episode.🤢

I personally liked the promos. But the actual scenes in the episodes can be better. And I feel CHetan and Arpit since they were already trained with the swords, they are comparitively better than others. Rajat ofcourse excels in each of these scenes,no doubt. Infact when he is having these one on one combats with Chetan and Arpit, they almost seem real. Infact Tanu Khan, the lady playing Helena seemed quite good yesterday. Because I've rarely seen a woman with a firm hand attacking in a hindi tv show, without wobbling. Great effort.

What I didn't like in JA,is how bad the others were and with CN,it is the excessive VFX.

However,VFX is also being used to multiply the number of soldiers in the army, this portion of VFX is relatively good. But yes, they need to make it brighter, the scenes are too dark.

What Im trying to say,is whatever little they show, they must seem authentic. Combats must not be restricted to screaming and flying.

Other than that I must say, they have improved a lot, definitely not the best, but they have learnt a thing or two 😆
