Though he justifies each role of his. I remember before PRC people making fun of an upcoming historical show, saying who will watch it. But first look of Rajat and historicals became an in thing. He understands nuances of character, portrays each scene perfectly, he is the best in action. PRC and DV show that. I don't think anyone else could have done CGM better, and I would have stood by him in this regard even if I was not his fan.

Problem with height? since when height has come in way of talent? Tom Cruise is a famous actor with short height but innumerable fans and talented enough to deserve that fandom. Aamir Khan is another excellent actor with short height. How ironic, how a more important thing in a person like his talent can be ignored for a physical feature.

Besides, people do not complain when a good looking actor is chosen for the character of a a real historical figure. who may not have been that good looking or he may be what society calls ugly. Why people d not complain and say actor's looks are not appropriate for that character's portrayal.

He was the reason PRC ,DV and Jodha akbar worked...

thats why he ended up winning BEST ACTOR AWARD for each and every show of his.

haters are there just to seek attention..but IT ALSO REVEALS THEIR FRUSTATION seeing rajat being successfu

bring it on haters..itsjust the beginning,he will crush haters with his success😃

I had seen this thread n chose to ignore it. I came here on your recommendation.😃

If I don't like a show, esp it's lead & main protagonist, I simply don't watch that show...😃

I definitely DONT do this:-
1) watch it
2) come to IF n make long posts n discuss about in detail 😆the shortcomings of the show (pun intended😉)

Tom Cruise/Amir Khan to name a few, contradict the 'shortcomings"😆
Voice is of course a matter of opinion 😃...according to me, there isn't another actor in India who could have done CGM Ike RT

RT you rock, man ⭐️⭐️...keep up the good work!!!!👏

😆ignore..its just a way to bring out their frsutration and jealousy for Rajat..
EMPTY VESSELS SPEAK VOLUMES..i hope u will get my point now..pun intended😆😉

My dear Chahat,

There is nothing wrong with his voice. Every actor has a distinctive voice and Rajat has his. I see no reason for him to change anything about it.

I have always felt, and I have mentioned this in my posts any number of times, that Rajat can make three things do almost anything: his eyes, his voice, and his body language. He is not a loud mouthed ham. He is a subtle creature of nuance.

Another thing. Nowadays, as sync sound had become the rule, and shooting for a daily soap has to be done fast, there is no way of correcting inaudible lines spoken by any actor. Watch Padmanand today and yesterday. I had to replay the recording three times to make out what he was saying to Parvatak and then to Avantika. He swallows half his words, and this is a chap who has a loud, clear voice normally.

At times, for the same reason, one cannot make out what Rajat is saying. But this is nowadays an almost universal problem, compounded by the overly loud background music which drowns the words out.

Addressing first line first. "Rajat is a decent to good actor"... Nopes, he is neither just decent nor just good. he is an actor par excellence, a phenomenal actor. For me, he is not just one of the best but sitting right there at the top.

Now, coming to problem of his voice. To some extent, for the part where his dialogues sometimes come out as whispers might be a problem and I am sure if anyone points this out to him. He will not mind but work on himself with even more zeal. But I do not mind his voice. In fact dubbing will ruin the entire affect, those who can relate to him knowing the actor portraying is Rajat Tokas. Those who are used to his voice, ( mind you actor's own voice is much more impactful in many terms. Including most if not all viewers being able to relate to that scene and character more)

I have been watching him since PRC and personally I would not prefer getting his dialogues/voice dubbed. It may even force me to stop watching show or skip it. (Besides I am watching this show for Rajat's acting, and his complete avatar on screen, voice including. I wont like a substitute.)

Let's just hope, our voices reach him and he starts taking care of not only his throat, his voice but also his diction.

I really don't know what to make out of the criticism like the one we are seeing here. It is just nitpicking for the sake of it, or these people have made dislike into a habit. If you are going to watch the best of the shows performed by the best of the actors with the intention of fault finding or a judgmental attitude, you are going to find a whole lot of them.

Even Oscar winning films and Actors will not be able to fulfil this touchstone. People with realistic expectations are always going to find Rajat a phenomenal actor, and CN an entertaining show. Regarding height or voice, it is genetic. Nobody can change the essential quality of the voice with which they are born. The things which can be changed are probably diction, dialogue delivery, etc. Rajat is doing fine in all those aspects. And many of us watching CN are very happy with Rajat's voice. We know it and will not be able to accept any other dubbed voice replacing it. It would look shoddy and seem like patchwork.

Regarding height, I think some of the greatest generals in military history were short. Napoleon was reputed to be short, Alexander the Great even shorter, and Ghenghis Khan the shortest of the lot. Nearer home, Shivaji was also reputed to be a short man. So height is not a standard to measure the greatness of these great people. We never know how tall historical CGM must have been. However he did not have a reputation for height either. So the question that Rajat does not suit to be CGM because he was not over six feet in height doesn't merit any consideration.

There is a saying in Telugu which I will translate for the benefit of all, "The Palm tree grows tall and so have you; but of what benefit to anyone around you?" So the essential thing is not the height of a person, but the height and loftiness of their personality and goodness.

@ bold couldnt agree with you more!! these people will wtch the show, the actor Rajat Tokas and then make their time for IF and bash him😆i too founf this thread very useless at first..these things also make me laugh...the jealousy of some fans of the PREVIOUS SHOW(wont name it but everyone can guess)are hell bent on finding faults in the shoe..and now with the actor😆😆

now the show has improved a lot so they cant complain much on the episodes...TRP is also decent..so they found a new excuse..ie Rajat's voice😆 which is laughable at the most!
Let them find faults, they are getting frustrated seeing the hardwork and success of Rajat...empy vessels speak volumes...and we can see that

This is a dangerous forum and anyone who wants to dissent mildly better stay away. If you say a word against RT you will be clobbered. Shyamala, you criticised the EDT on the Ashoka forum as much and as often as you wanted without anyone interrupting you. You said people there were of one mind and did not appreciate a diversity of views. What is this if not an intolerance for a different point of view? What is this if not indirect bullying?

Why can't I think what I want to think?

I know I will be attacked viciously but I don't care because I'm never stepping in here again.

I said Rajat has a feeble voice and he does and it wasn't a reference to the battle scenes. People may have got used to him

But I haven't.

And I have a right to say what I want to say. How you view a person is subjective and that subjectivity should be respected.

I popped in here after 10 or 15 days just to take a break from better preoccupations and I wish I had not.

Of course you have a right to say what you wanted to, my dear Rohini, and I did the same. I do not bully anyone or use harsh language in my responses. But if others do so, I cannot help it. This said, as far as I could see, no one has used any harsh language in refuting the topic maker's stand. A couple of youngsters got a bit carried away, but even that could hardly be called bullying!

Besides, no one has responded to you in particular. Why do you take the counter comments as directed at you? I for one did not think of you at all when I made my comments.

If one makes a remark about anything one has to ready for counter arguments. How can you expect that tolerance of dissenting views means there should be no argument at all about those views? The problem with your approach is that you are not allowing for counterarguments at all. If you want to stand up for your point of view, you have to respond to the counter arguments.

As for the tolerance in the EDT, that was because I always expressed myself in very measured tones and obliquely when suggesting a little more balance in the reactions to Kaurwaki. And they liked it when I compared her expressions to that of a dying duck.😉

But the minute I critiqued Devi, I was dubbed a hypocrite, and worse, in shrill tones, and no one but Subha and Shailaja defended me, and that too NOT on the freedom of expression grounds. So enough said on the EDT tolerance angle, don't you think?

Rohini my response was to the criticism per say (voice of the actor, height of the actor, etc) and not in any way personal. Just as criticizing was your freedom of expression, defending was my freedom of expression. Just as you can express dissent, we can also express assent and heap justified praise.

Edit: This was one of the criticism against Rajat in the earlier pages of the same post. I am copy pasting here for your kind reading and perusal. The person was asking a replacement of Rajat in the show because he does not have the voice or height and is not at all suited to the role. After reading such kind of criticism, if you are expecting me to keep quiet and not even defend Rajat, then you are asking too much from me.

"Sorry to say...but I don't like Rajat as Chandra Gupta..Ekta should cast another actor for this role..He's too short and his voice too husky for an actor..the show will be completely different if Rajat isn't the lead..Sorry.. "-LiahAlam

I agree with you...not everyone has to be Rajat's admirer..he has faults..and everyone has the right to speak out their opinion..for me Rajat is only succesfull for doing mithological show...Why doesn't he take a gut and grab the role in modern show..he's not such a good actor if he just doing the same typical role again and again..not good at all..👎🏼👎🏼 and it's not his apreciation thread so everyone is free to critisize him
