I am leaving 'Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat' with a heavy heart, says Queen Helena aka Suzanne Bernert
Suzanne Bernert, who plays the role of Queen Helena, is leaving the show as her character will die in the coming episodes. The actress is not too happy to leave the show. Although she played an antagonist, fans have appreciated her villainous character.
On her last day of shoot Suzanne Bernert opened about certain things that took us by surprise. She never wanted to leave the show, and her character is going to die even before the producers had decided to kill her.
Suzanne told TimesOfIndia.com, "Today is my last day. It has been an amazing journey, great experience. All these words fall short to express what it was to be Queen Helena. I don't think anyone expected this character to be so loved and to have such a long run. Every time in the story whenever they tried to make me more evil, people sympathized more with Helena, as whatever she did was for her family and to undo the injustice inflicted on her because of being a Foreigner."
Calling the end of her character abrupt, she said, "The end is abrupt and not my choice. Helena was supposed to die in jail before the leap but my Producer Roopali put a stop to it. She said Ashoka without Helena is impossible, but this time decision is taken out of her hands. So with a heavy heart I am leaving. I wish the show all the Best."
The actress further thanked her team on and off screen who helped her at every step and giving a push to her each time.
The actress, who hails from Germany, said that she always had issues with the writing as she comes from Western acting, where it is less about words and more about feelings, looks and emotions. She said, "I tried to turn the words to make them my own and I want to thank my dubber who did such a fantastic job in emulating me. Thanks to Color's."
