It is the eldest who gets the throne right? Every single historical source mentions Ashok as an arrogant and brutal king in the first phase. Then came a change. I am not saying Ashoka wasn't a good king because that will not prove anything but myself stupid.
Very little is known about Ashoka's childhood first of all so we hardly know what exactly was the case. No source says Sushim was a bad prince (Not even after Ashoka came in) but when you know from birth you will get a huge pizza when you are eligible and all of a sudden someone who wasn;t supposed to have the pizza takes away your whole pizza (along with the Choco Lava Cake) I don't think you will forgive that person. Sushim was the eldest by the way so he is supposed to get the throne
That does not make Ashoka a bad king and I don't intend to insult him but History is always pro-kings and power. If you see it from above as from everyone's side then there is wrong in all sides. Politics is all about that.
