Ashok reminiscences his mother. He stumbles and falls in front of Sushim who tries to provoke him but Ashok snarls at him to not get him angry as he is presently very volatile. Sushim and co remain stunned.
Ashok prays to God. Chanakya comes to bring him to the funeral but Ashok refuses standing up one one leg to pray for his mother's return. Dejected Chanakya returns to funeral ground and cajoles Bindu into burning the body against the wishes of the other people.
