Selena Gomez asks fans advice on fragrance

Selena Gomez is the latest star to jump on the celebrity fragrance bandwagon — but the singer's debut scent will be designed with a difference. The Disney star is reportedly enlisting her fans' help to develop the product by asking them to vote on their favourite ingredients. According to Women's Wear Daily, "her fans will be invited to log on to selenagomezperfumes.com later this [autumn] to vote on accords [themes] and ingredients they prefer for the fragrance". The US magazine adds: "The most popular notes will be incorporated into the finished scent. The first 50,000 participants will receive a free sample of the fragrance and will be entered into a draw to win a tour of the fragrance lab with Gomez." The 19-year-old Wizards Of Waverly Place star, who is currently dating teen pop star Justin Bieber, added: "I am excited to make my own fragrance that is romantic, rich and sweet. I wanted to make a fragrance that is able to make my fans feel special [sic]."

Disney star Selena Gomez has insisted she will never change for a guy. The 19 year-old, who is dating Justin Bieber, said she once let a boyfriend's likes and dislikes rule her but now she will always just be herself. The Wizards of Waverly Place actress said: "I wasn't myself for a year. I think that was really damaging. I felt like it was me who was always trying to be perfect for him. "Everyone around me hated him but I didn't listen. I think I had to go through it because now I'm the strongest I've been. I dare someone to try and change me again." Selena said she lost her sense of fun until the romance was over. She added to Top of the Pops magazine: "I always dressed nice. I don't think that he ever saw me in sweatpants - and I love sweatpants. "I'd always be well-mannered and go to his favourite restaurants or whatever. There was a point where I lost myself completely. I didn't smile as much, I didn't laugh as much. I wasn't a goofball. I didn't get up and dance like I usually do. "And when that one ended, I didn't know where I was. But I got it back and was really happy. My family were happy to have me back."

Selena Gomez leads ALMA award nominations

Disney star Selena Gomez is leading the list of celebrities who have been nominated for an ALMA award. Gomez, Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Lopez are among the top nominees announced for the 2011 ALMA Awards, which will be presented in Santa Monica, California, in honour of entertainers who promote a positive image of Hispanic culture. The trio were nominated, along with Naya Rivera and Shakira, for favourite female music artist. Gomez was also nominated for favourite TV actress for Wizards of Waverly Place, while Aguilera was nominated for reality show The Voice and Lopez for the smash hit American Idol. Aguilera also received a nod for favourite comedy/musical movie actress for Burlesque, while Gomez was nominated in the same category for Monte Carlo. The awards, presented by the National Council of La Raza, will be bestowed during a September 10 ceremony at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. George Lopez and Eva Longoria will co-host the event, which will be taped and broadcast in the US on September 16.

Selena Gomez laughs off pregnancy rumours

Selena Gomez has laughed off speculation that pregnancy was actually the cause of her illness last month. The former Disney star, who is dating Justin Bieber, was hospitalized and treated for malnutrition after complaining of headaches and nausea, and rubbished reports that the cause had anything to do with a mini-Bieber. Talking about the claims, she told Now magazine, "I laughed. There is nothing you can do. You just have to blow them off." Meanwhile she said that the real cause was her poor diet. "I wasn't really healthy. I was low in iron. I was dehydrated. I had actually got back from vacation, so I wasn't overworking. "I'm probably not the healthiest eater." Selena turns 19 on July 22.

Selena Gomez plays prank on fan

Selena Gomez wore a bulky bubblegum outfit for new TV show PrankStars - in which celebrities play pranks on their fans. The singer also wore geeky glasses and a hat as part of a fake TV advert. However, the bulky outfit proved hard to dance in and Gomez fell over. The "producer" of the advert was then rude to Gomez's fan, Mary, before the star revealed her identity and told the fan it was all a prank. "Mary was such a good sport," said Gomez at the end. "She was so nice, so it was really hard for me to keep up the act when Kara was being so mean to her. It was very fun to prank her and I think she did a very good job.".

The 18-year-old went public with her relationship with Bieber, 17, in February and she said she's been shocked at their reaction. She said to UK newspaper Daily Record: "It's weird, it's just weird, but I don't pay attention to it, I just try to live my life as normal as possible. "I just like to not focus on what the whole world is saying about me and just be happy with myself. I try to not read magazines or the internet but it's obviously unavoidable. "I mean, it's everywhere, so there are moments where I read things that hurt my feelings. But not most of the time. I don't surround my life with magazines or the internet."
