LOL, I was always unsure of whether to refer to you as Maya or Mayaji in the BW section. You are the undisputed queen there as far as I am concerned.

Nimmi, No need for Maya ji. There are many older members there. I am just 30 😊.

LAK Inspired?

Saif's first production Love Aaj Kal is very similar to a Taiwanese film called Three Times

Saif Ali Khan first home production starring himself and Deepika Padukone in the lead titled Love Aaj Kal and directed by Imtiaz Ali is apparently not an original.

Buzz is that the film is inspired by Taiwanese film Zui Hao De Shi Guang (Three Times).

Waqt-Waqt Ki Baat Hai: Saif Ali Khan in Love Aaj Kal

Versions

A source who has seen the script of the Hindi version says, "The Imtiaz Ali version and the Taiwanese version share similar story-lines.

The story moves in three different eras and the lead couple remains the same throughout. In Three Times, the film starts in 1911 then moves to 1966 and eventually settles in 2005."

Many eras

The source further adds, "Love Aaj Kal is also on the same lines and the story keeps moving from one era to another and also all over world.

From San Francisco to London, the film finally settles in the current era in Kolkata. It basically just tells the story of two lovers in different time zones hence the title of the film Love Aaj Kal!"

Even after repeated tries, director Imtiaz Ali chose not to comment. But Dinesh Vijan, the co-producer of the film simply says, "All I want to say is that our film is not a copy of this movie."

About Three Times

Three stories of women and men: In 1966, "A Time for Love," a soldier searches for a young woman he met one afternoon playing pool; "A Time for Freedom," set in a bordello in 1911, revolves around a singer's longing to escape her surroundings; in 2005 in Taipei, "A Time for Youth" dramatises a triangle in which a singer has an affair with a photographer while her partner suffers.

In the first two stories, letters are crucial to the outcome; in the third, it is cellphone calls, text messages, and a computer file.

Over the years between the tales, as sexual intimacy becomes more likely and words more free, communication recedes.

Yeah, I watched the videos. Sorry, FB distracts me. I had 2 Inbox messages to read. So unbelievably sweet she is. Her showing the khatiya was definitely the highlight of the video. I also ate tandoori chicken too that I made. We have that in common.
What I like about Deepika is the level head on her shoulders. She seems so mature, ambitious, and sure of herself. I like the fact that she is confident and knows what she wants in life. The fact that she remains unapologetic about that is great. So yeah I like her in a very feminist way.
Physically speaking, the girl is gorgeous. She can wear just about anything and make it look good. Sometimes I wish she could have modeled a bit longer, she is just so darn pretty in that regard. That Harper's Bazaar photoshoot was mesmerizing. And she has a presence on screen. Though I am warming up to her acting, she definitely is very photogenic and a very good dancer based on Om Shanti Om.
With Imtiaz Ali at the helm, I am sure this film being a thriller will be great to showcase her talent, and I will see how she has grown as an actress too. Imtiaz usually writes strong roles for his female protagonists so I am sure that will be the case here too.

oh yeah Deepz is a fighter literally. She broke her ankle two times while shooting for CCTC but she still continue with the shoot. Now she got hurt but she smiling like everything is okay. She seems like she's working very hard. It's night time and they are preparing to shoot for the song. If it's night time, I be preparing to go to bed...LOL

LOL, I was so busy watching the surroundings of the video that I didn't realize she got hurt until I read one of the comments. As a sidenote, I want to be in Beverly Hills. I still have to drag my winter coat out in the middle of April. Oh Midwest, how I love and hate you. I just realized that I confused the plot of Deepika's movie with Farhan and this one with Imtiaz. Silly me, lol.

Hmm. Yeah, its set in two different times and how love happens in different times.. I haven't watched that other movie, but I have faith in IMLI and I don't think he would ever copy a movie.

Knowing Imtiaz's track record, I doubt he would outright copy. Sometimes people go towards the same type of concept in a film. Seeing his last two films and how they turned out, I doubt he would feel the need to do that especially that he is now established. At least that is what I figure.
