Hello everyone!
Thank you for the love you've been showering on the story so far. Like the title says, this story is more about Rishabh and Raina's love story so there will be more of that than the Brahmarakshas. But don't worry Brahmu bhaiyya will be making an reappearance in the next chapter so keep reading!
Cheers,
Neet
Chapter 3
Raina groggily opened her eyes to the bright beams of sunlight filtering in through the windows. As her eyes focused to her surroundings, she became aware of the fact that she was lying half sprawled over Rishabh and the other half on the floor! At some point at night, she figured they'd gone from sleeping sitting to lying on the floor and she'd landed up in the embarrassing position over him. True to his word, even in sleep, Rishabh wasn't holding her. Mortified at the fact that she had sought to cuddle with him in her sleep, she tried to get off of him quickly before he woke up. But as luck would have it, her hair was stuck beneath his arm. With great effort, she managed to free her hair and just as she got up, there was a knock on their door. Afraid that somebody might barge in and find Rishabh sleeping on the floor, Raina ran to the door and opened it just wide enough to poke her head out. Rishabh's sister and bhabhi stood at the door.
"The two of you? Here? So early in the morning? Is everything okay?" Raina asked. Bhabhi nodded her head as she said, "Well as long as the Brahmarakshas is alive, nothing can be perfectly normal in our lives, but.. anyways, since this is technically your first day in this house as the daughter in law of the house, mom wants you to cook breakfast. It's a ritual that the new daughter in law performs to bring prosperity into the household." "Oh okay.. Give me ten minutes to freshen up Bhabhi and I will be downstairs," Raina said in a hurry to have them leave.
"But Raina bhabhi.. Where is Rishabh bhaiyya? Hasn't he woken up yet?" Rishabh's sister asked, trying to see past Raina into the room. "No.. no.. He is.. He is still sleeping," Raina said trying to block her view. "Oh do you need help waking him up? You know he hates waking up in the morning and Mom would assign me and Ved bhaiyya the task of waking him up. Trust me, I know ways to wake him within seconds!" Rishabh's sister said. "No.. its alright.." Raina tried to stop her. "He is just a little tired. I think we should let him rest." "Awww.. that's so sweet of you Raina. You are so concerned about Rishabh. If this isn't true love, then what else could it be?" bhabhi asked. Raina looked away. "Awww Raina Bhabhi is blushing!" Rishabh's sister teased Raina. "Okay. Okay. Now don't embarrass her. Raina, get ready quick and come down so we can get started with your rasoi rasam," Naina instructed her. "Yes Bhabhi," Raina replied. When they both had left. Raina shut the door behind them and let out a sigh.
"Oh Rakshas! Go sleep on the bed!" She prodded Rishabh till he opened his eyes wearily. He turned to look at the clock and saw that it was 6 o'clock. "Oye Chindi Chameli! Are you psycho? Who wakes up at 6? Why are you waking me up?" He said rubbing his eyes. "Normal human beings wake up early. But my dad used to always tell me that demons did not like to wake up early. Now I have even more proof that you are a demon. Anyways, I wasn't trying to wake you up. I was telling you to go sleep on the bed before anyone sees you sleeping on the floor like this and unleashes a barrage of questions as to why." With that she went into the bathroom and bolted the door. Sleepy eyed, Rishabh barely managed to make his way to the bed before he crashed on it and fell asleep again.

As she was cooking in the kitchen, Raina realized that she was really sore and achy from sleeping on the floor last night and found herself constantly having to stop and stretch to relieve the aching. Mohini noticed this and asked her, "what happened Raina? Are you not feeling well?" "No mom! There's nothing like that. I just.. I mean.. I guess I didn't sleep right so.." Raina fumbled as she tried to think of an appropriate excuse. Rishabh's sister was quick to jump in, "Mom, try to understand, they are newly weds. Sleeping through the night is the last thing on their minds. And when you have too much fun at night, it's given that you'll be a little achy or sore the morning after." Raina turned red with embarrassment but could say nothing in response. Mohini swatted Rishabh's sister asking her not to tease Raina and shooed her out of the kitchen.
When breakfast was served, Rishabh came down massaging his neck. "What happened Rishabh? Are you alright?" Nalin asked. "Yes dad! I'm alright. I guess I just didn't sleep right last night," Rishabh explained. Rishabh's sister and Naina bhabhi burst out laughing, elbowing Raina while Mohini gave a knowingly smile. Raina glared at Rishabh before making an excuse and hurrying back to the kitchen embarrassed while Rishabh sat looking confused. What was wrong with the women in the house today? He wondered. He could never figure women out, he thought as he focused on the food.
"Oh wow Mom! Have we got a new cook? This food is amazing!" Rishabh commented as he licked his fingers off. "Actually.." Mohini started to tell him that Raina had cooked the food but before Mohini could say anything, Rishabh's sister butted in, "Is the food really that delicious Bhaiya? Then you should give a gift to the cook." She winked at Raina slyly. "Gift? What gift can I give?" Rishabh asked confused. "There's that phrase in Hindi, what is it? The food is so tasty, I could kiss your hands," Ved pitched into the fun. "You want me to kiss the cook's hands? Are you out of your mind? I'm not kissing a guy's hands!" Rishabh declared. "And what if we tell you the cook is a girl?" Rishabh's sister asked. "Oohh!" Rishabh exclaimed but quickly curtailed his response when he cast a glance at Raina. "No thank you. I am a married man now. Now every other woman is off limits for me," Rishabh replied solemnly. A small smile curved along the side of Raina's lips but she quickly got rid of it. "And what if we tell you, its none other than your wife? Our Raina Bhabhi?" Ved asked. Rishabh was genuinely surprised. "Chindi.. You made this food?" he asked Raina surprised. Raina didn't respond. "Of course she did. It was her rasoi rasam and she did fantastically!" Mohini replied.
"Now bhaiya, you can't go back on your word! You said you would couldn't kiss any other woman's hands but surely you can kiss your own wife's hands," Ved said. "Yes! Yes! As a sign of appreciation," Rishabh's sister chipped in. "No! No! There is no need for all this," Raina tried to refuse but Mohini stopped her. "Arey Raina beta. Its tradition that when the new daughter in law of the house cooks for the first time, the whole family gives her gifts. Knowing Rishabh, he probably has no clue about the ritual so he hasn't got anything for you. He has to make up for it somehow na?" "But I honestly don't need anything from him," Raina tried to argue. "I think Raina is feeling shy. Don't be shy Raina. As it is, husbands don't shower their love on you for long. Enjoy the romance while it lasts," Naina said. "But Bhabhi.." "No more ifs and buts, come on Rishabh bhaiya!" Rishabh's sister pulled Rishabh out of his chair and pushed him toward Raina. Raina looked at him angrily but Rishabh shrugged his shoulder indicating he had no choice.
He came closer to her and took her hands in his. She had her hands clutched into fists and he leaned in and whispered just for her to hear, "Relax, remember I promised you I wouldn't touch you against your wish?" She looked away, unable to meet his gaze, his proximity wreaking havoc on her senses. He lowered his head towards her hands clasped firmly in his but stopped when his lips were just a breath away from her hands. To the outside world it seemed as if he'd kissed her hands but both of them were acutely aware of that one breath that separated his lips from her hands. Somehow, it turned out to be way more unsettling and unnerving than if he had actually kissed her.
When Rishabh walked into their bedroom later that morning, Raina stood ready for murder. "What was all that?" She asked him, blocking his way. "What?" He asked genuinely confused. "What were you doing downstairs?" She asked, hands on her hips, lips pursed in a thin line and eyes shooting daggers. "Oye Chindi! You and I both know I didn't actually kiss your hands. Oh wait a minute, are you actually upset that I didn't kiss your hands properly. Come, I can take care of that right now," he said teasingly, reaching for her hands. She swatted his hands away from her and he yelped in pain. "What is you problem Chindi? I don't understand!" Rishabh asked, rubbing his hands where she'd swatted him. "You are my problem you Rakshas Shrivastav! And why did you tell them you were achy from not sleeping right?" Raina asked angrily. "Seriously Chindi? That is your problem? We both know it's true because thanks to your stubbornness, we both slept on the floor last night!" Rishabh said, now losing his patience.
Raina was taken aback, "you.. you know that.. I.. I mean.." "That you were sprawled all over me in your sleep last night? Oh hello! I was asleep. I hadn't fallen into a coma that I wouldn't realize when something so heavy fell on my chest!" Rishabh replied. "What?!! Did you just call me fat?! You Rakshas!" Raina picked up a pillow and threw it at him. Rishabh dodged it neatly and ran to the other end of the bed. When she chased him, he grabbed another pillow and threw it at her. Their pillow fight was on in full force when Raina slipped and fell onto the bed with Rishabh on top of her. They had just slipped into an eye lock, forgetting the world around them, in the slow realization of how her soft curves fit perfectly against his hard planes when an indiscreet cough had them springing apart. Rishabh's sister and Naina stood at the door giggling.
"Bhabhi! Looks like they are not done with last night's program," Rishabh's sister commented. Raina stepped away from Rishabh and shook her head, "there's nothing like that. Did you need me for something Bhabhi?" Raina asked. "Nothing at all. We just came to tell you that Mom wants all of us to go to the temple in the evening. You both carry on. And we'll make sure to shut the door behind us so you don't get disturbed," Naina bhabhi said and before Raina could protest, they'd left, closing the door shut behind them.
"What program from last night were they talking about? What has gotten into the women of this house?" Rishabh asked. "I.. I don't know.." Raina lied as she tried to sneak past him to leave but he caught hold of her hand. "When you don't know how to lie, why do you even try?" He asked. "Actually, I was cooking in the kitchen this morning and I was a little sore and achy from sleeping on the floor. But Naina bhabhi and your sister thought something else. And then you came to the breakfast table and said you were sore and achy so then they just.." Raina muttered. Rishabh got what she was trying to say but couldn't let go of the chance to tease her. "Huh? They thought what? I don't understand," he faked being confused. Raina glared at him and he laughed, "I get it. But why are you so mad about it?" "Because there's nothing like that between us!" She exclaimed. "Oh! So you want something like that to happen?" He teased. "NO!" She said, "I just don't want them to get their hopes up that everything is normal between us. Because once we kill this Brahmarakshas, I am leaving and that's for sure. And then they'll all be heartbroken!"
Rishabh felt a sharp ache at the center of his chest when she said that so casually. He walked towards her and turned her to face him, "Raina, why are you so insistent on leaving?" Before she could say anything and move away, he tightened his hold on her shoulder and placed a finger on her lips. "I know how stubborn you are but you are forgetting something, Mrs. Raina Rishabh Shrivastav. If you are stubborn, I am even more stubborn than you are. And I've decided Mrs. Shrivastav, that I'm going to do everything I can, and I mean everything I can, to woo you so you give up this idea of leaving me. I don't know what your problem is, but it can't be bigger than the Brahmarakshas. And I promise you, we'll get rid of the Brahmarakshas and we'll stay together even after that's done. You are not going anywhere Mrs. Shrivastav. I assure you that. The challenge, however is, to see how long you, Chindi Chameli, can resist a handsome hunk like me," he chuckled as he leaned in closer. Raina used all her strength and pushed him away, "Keep dreaming you Rakshas!" Was all she could manage as she literally ran out the room.

Could someone please remind me what Rishabh's sister's name is (the cousin one who is always hovering around but has no real role? lol!) For the life of me, I can't remember what her name is so throughout the update you'll realize I've just called her Rishabh's sister instead of giving her another name and having to change it later.
Thanks in advance!Neet
