PwP is P orn without Plot, it's common fanfic terminology
The smut was fine initially, but after a point it felt so boring and repetitive. It was a 396 page book, and like 85% was just smut. If I wanna read PwP I can just go to fics, they'll serve me far more in far lesser words, and for 120k words I can find fics that are absolutely exquisite.
This book was a disappointment and a bore. The only thing going for it were the family bonds. I'm always a sucker for found family vibes ❤️
Speaking of fics...
Lizzie, if a fic is 17k+ words can I include it in the log? It's just 700 words shy of 18k, that's like 2 pages less than 60
Is there any chance it's possible? 🙈
Yeah you can. It’s just that every log needs to have at least 60 pages, so you can read a smaller fic of 1000-2000 words and include that along with this one to make up 18K + wordsSpeaking of fics...

Really? 😍 I can do that??
Thank you!! 😘😘🤗
Yeah made that change this month since many requested. Check the first page for the rules. You can read smalller fics as long as 5 of them can total to 18 K+ words/ 60 + pages (max 5 are allowed as one entry in your log)

Oh man, I hate reading such books with no plot. I need a good balance. Though the second book in this series looks a bit tempting, its an office romance, so I might give it a try
I honestly hate reading fics jab se I started reading novels though, like why read them when you can just read a novel? For me, I associate fics more with teenagers and when I read them I imagine them being written by teens. Novels seem more "mature". The only time I would read a fic is if it;s based on a couple/show that I'm a fan of or it's been written by someone I know.
This is the same reason why i still havent been able to read a Chinese novel the translations remind me of fics written by teens
And I do wish I could read as fast and as much as these people read, theres sooo many books I wanna read

You haven't found the right fics then. I have read fics that are better than actual published novels. The plot, the characterisation, the writing style... everything top notch. I have read fics that have made me cry, even ugly cry at times — and this coming from a person who can probably count on one hand the number of times she's cried in her life. I've read tragedies, thrillers, romcoms, erotica, dystopia, paranormal... basically every kind of genre that I enjoy. Fics written by good authors are nothing short of a miracle. You feel privileged to read them, because they're creating something so beautiful and exquisite, just out of passion, and you can feel it in every word.
This kind of fic I only associate with ao3 though. I'm sure Wattpad, ff.net, LJ and Tumblr also have their fair share, but the tagging on ao3 makes it easier to find exactly what you're looking for, which is very imp to me as a mood reader. Sure there's a lot of garbage too — those "immature" fics you're talking about that reek of teenagers and cringe, every fic site has them (and ao3 probably has the most tbh), but at some point you just know how to wade through them and get drawn to the good ones. And the good ones are absolutely worth it ❤️❤️
There are ao3 authors that I'm subscribed to, and for some of them, whenever they publish any new chapter or new story I will legit drop everything to make time to read it. I'm that addicted to them, not even kidding. Idk if I have that kind of loyalty towards any published author.

Yeah well the problem with fics is that you dont which ones are written well and which ones are not, and then I think why read fics when there are SO many novels out there to read? Too many books, not enough time.
Waise, even though Wattpad is cringe and I stopped checking it years ago, but I believe a lot of well known novel authors started with wattpad and later got their story published or even continue writing short stories after becoming well known. I know Colleen Hoover wrote Too Late on wattpad first and then later on went on to publish it as a book.
And the fics which you are talking about, if the writers are so talented, why aren't they writing and publishing actual books instead of writing online? And are these stories OGs or fan fictions based on shows/movies? Just curious.
