According to me Martin doesn't kill characters only to troll readers, His character's deaths actually make sense. That certain character made lot of mistakes and other things goes wrong (which were not in control of that character) at the same time.And of course that event is tragic.

Does anyone else find it interesting, how similar the story arcs of Jon and Dany are? The parallels are so obvious, I just wonder when will they meet. I cannot wait for them to meet.

Although, ice and fire can be interpreted in many ways.
