if a book can be pre-ordered for more $$ and it will be cheaper later, do you choose to order it before so you can get it sooner? I have done this, in fact even ordered it overseas because I cant seem to wait the extra couple of weeks. Or would you either wait or try to get it in a library?

I've never quite done that. I was crazy about the last HP book but still I never pre-ordered it, and waited patiently.

The patience can be hard sometimes but it's well worth it in the end - You pay less (which is definitely a bonus considering the economy these days), and of course after that much patience, you love the book even more!

So far, I've only done it once. And that too becuase I was so impatient to get the last book for the sequel of Twilight that I had it pre-ordered like months before. I don't really regret it because I finished the book in 2 nights. And I don't think it would've made a difference because I think prices are still the same.

I'm guilty of it...especially when it comes to HP!😒...and it wasn't even worth it!! Mine came on the day it released in stores (where it was HALF the price!)

Usually, I just wait to get it in the library. Actually, I reserve it months before it comes out, so I'm first on the list! After I read it, if I still want it, I find someway to get it at a cheap price. :D

I pre-ordered the 6th Harry Potter Book 7 months before its release & the 7th Harry Potter Book 5 months before its release😳 I guess I was just jumping on the bandwagon but still it was worth it coz the Book Shop in which I ordered those books gave their first 100 Customers to pre-order them a free copy of any other HP Book of their choice😛
And yeah, sadly brand new books are so expensive & so most of the time I also depend on the library for most of the books but I just love going to the Bookshop( when I can afford it😆 )& buying new books & putting them on my bookshelf. When I was younger & the pocket money was nowhere enough to buy all the books I wanted, my mum got me to do so many chores I absolutely hated & frequently avoided doing by bribing me with promises of visits to bookshops😛

Exactly!👏 I never pre-order books either, but I make sure to reserve it in the library about 4 months before it's supposed to come out. That's what I did for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. My local library ordered about 15 copies of it because of its waiting list (I was #2), so I got to read it on the day it came out!😃
