Can you leave reading in between?

Hey Friends,

Well, I have this big problem. Whenever I am reading a book, and someone calls my name, I can't answer him/her without finishing the line I am on. Sometimes I don't reply till I've finished that passage 😳

And as you can see because of that I can get into trouble especially if someone elder is calling my name and I don't reply soon enough. And I can't get up without finish a chapter. No matter where I have to go/do I finish the chapter and then get up 😳

So does that happen to you? You can't leave a sentence/passage in between? Does it go to the extreme that you have to finish the book?

I've gotten in trouble a ton of times when I'm supposed to be doing something else and can't pull myself away from the book (because it is at SUCH a crucial/incredible stage.) On the other hand, often, at times some people start feeling like I'm ignoring them if I pull up a book and starting reading. Which leads to an argument, me in turn putting the book down, and ending with general iffiness in the air, which is not all pleasant Stick Out Tongue

So not really the same problem as you, but nevertheless, the love of books can conjure trouble in many ways 😆

Oh true, the Ignoring thing does come in as well. People do feel bad and believe as if I am ignoring them or am avoiding them. Unfortunately, way too many times I have to explain that I was just reading and had nothing else in mind 😳

Oh yeah trouble in many ways definitely, so the thing about everything has a good a bad side is obviously true in this case well. 😆

It depends on the book.... sometime I have to finish the whole thing before I do something else and sometimes I can leave it midway through the chapter.... but luckily my family understands me well enough to know that I'm not being rude or ignoring them or anything...

It actually depends on the book😛 The last I read was the Twilight series and trust me I read it like crazzzzyy. I almost forgot abt the world around me, I was just obsessed with it. ( well I still am)

I was reading the book when my mum called me and asked what I wanted for dinner and I replied " Mountain Lion" thats edwards favourite ofcourse!😆😆

This happened to me quite a many times..actually not always because it depends on the book..but trust me all da ppl thought n still thnks i dnt reply to them juz to ignore them 🤢but the fact is i just cant concentrate on something else while reading a nice exciting book..the craziest thing i did i guess was last year when i got the book love story n i wz reading it till 3 am n mum came n swithced off da lights as i had skool at 7 am ..so then i read the book with the help of a tiny torch light kinda thing which provied me veryy dull kinda light but i wz able to read.😆

omg lol 😆 i have the exact same problem

we were just discussing today and i was saying how my mum gets annoyed when i don't answer straightaway 😕

also i read before bed and even if im exhausted i have to finish the chapter before I go to sleep 😳

yes its true nut depends upon the book or the story content .This happens to me when i am reading the newspaper and specially PG3 and someone calls me , i get irritate.
