Hi friends,
Farhan Akhtar had originally planned to start the film in the beginning of year 2009, but Shah Rukh Khan's schedule is so packed that he has not been able to allot any time for Farhan's movie in the next year. Now, if Farhan still wants to go ahead with the sequel of 'Don' in next year, he will have to search for some other hero to play the lead in place of Shah Rukh Khan.
Sources close to King Khan say that Aditya Chopra has been waiting to complete his shooting for 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' with Shah Rukh Khan, as soon as the former returns from his vacation in London. Shah Rukh is playing the lead in this love story opposite Anushka, a newcomer from Bangalore. As Aditya had got Shah Rukh's dates for this film after requesting Karan to postpone his own 'My Name Is Khan', he is not likely to give his dates to anyone else.
After Shah Rukh completes Aditya's film, Priyadarshan's 'Billoo Barber' is lined up and King Khan can not ignore that film as the dates of other actors like Irfaan Khan etc have already been booked and can not be wasted. Shah Rukh plays a film star in the movie, who is friendly with a barber, played by Irfaan Khan
After that Karan Johar would like to complete his film 'My Name Is Khan', which is based on a serious topic and is to be shot in New York. The film is based on the experience of a person who has been kept in captivity after the twin blasts of New York. Shah Rukh plays the lead, while Shabana Azmi is playing his mother.
Soon after Farah Khan will be directing him in 'Happy New Year', which will be produced by Shah Rukh's own production company. As Farah has given box office hits like 'Main Hoon Naa' and 'Om Shanti Om', Shah Rukh would not like to disturb her in this venture for Farhan Akhtar, whose 'Don' was at best a moderate success at the box office.
The buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that besides being busy, Shah Rukh Khan also wants to avoid doing Farhan's film for that reason. In any case, a sequel has never done any wonder at the box office and even his first 'Don' with Farhan Akhtar, was criticized for being a poor adaptation of the original Big B's film.
Even Farhan Akhtar is more or less aware of the buzz and hence planning to start another venture 'Voice from the Sky', instead of going ahead with Shah Rukh Khan starrer sequel of 'Don.'
