why did abhi-karishma engagement break? - Page 5

It is very very sad...how culd a mother be so cruel? both the mothers...but then what about the kids?

why didnt abhi and karishma stand by each other?...karishma knows that its not an every day thing where an actor becomes popular with his first movie...even she had to struggle...I wonder why didnt they stand up for each other and let their respective mother decide their fate. 😔
....now Abhi looks happy with Ash...without a doubt they look happy with each other....but the same is not the case with karishma...she looks very different after her engagement broke...there is always a weird sadness in her eyes...even though she is smiling....it is very obvious in her pics...it is like she has erected walls all around her...
.....but dont know...It would be very interesting if any of them spoke about it...how they feel about each other today! 😊

I agree Karisma did change alot around that time. If you saw her at award shows and other events around that time, she was always in indian clothes and trying to act like the dutiful bahu (i.e.check out the video from AB's book launch in 2002). Her behavior was strangely similar to Ash's behavior now. I guess that is what is expected from a Bachchan bahu. 😕

I agree with you completely. I remember she came to Filmafare award function to hand over an award to Kareena just after her wedding and she was quiet and sad and did not have any glow of newly wed.

Also, I remember reading she went into depression after the breakup.

That's life. One wrong decision and it can have life changing effect on us. In such situtation I always think of Silsila song - aksar ye sochati hu main ye hota to kya hota....

From what I know... Karishma and Kareena did not spend much time with Kapoor khandaan growing up. They stayed mostly with their Mom - remember famous filmfare award function speech Lolo gave where she thanked everyone except her dad and when asked about it she said her Mom told her not to.

I completely agree with you there. I actually posted a topic about this about a week ago. Karisma used to look so full of life, now she looks completely down and the glow is completely missing from her face. But I guess that's what happens when you marry a man who seems to be more interested in boozing and partying than being with his own wife! I still can't believe she married that man, she could have done so much better. However, its obvious the way things played out after the engagement broke off, that Sunjay was her rebound guy. Its sad that she took such a hasty decision and is now paying for it big time! I also wonder what Karisma thinks when she sees Abhi and Ash together and all the attention they get.

In a way u cant even blame BAbita.....she had to raise two daughters with very little money. Randhir and she had split and Randhir wasnt raising the kdis, Babita was......irrespective of whtever reason Radhir-Babita broke off, it is a still a fact tht Babita single-handedly raised Lolo-Bebo and in every Lolo-Bebo interview it is evident how close and indebted both of them feel towards their mom......obviously Karishma picked her mom over Abhi----most women would pick their mom over any1 else in the world.....obnoxious she might be but she's still ur mom and if her mom wasnt happy with the marriage then maybe karishma gave in!

As for marrying Sanjay----I heard Karishma had a crush on him when he was younger.....it did seem lik a hasty marriage....ifnact Abhi gave in interview when there were reports of Karishma-Sanjay breaking up n Abho said tht he hoped KArishma was ok esp coz she has a young kid n he said some otehr ncie stuff abt her......and even KArishma apparently congratulated him on his engagement (and after KANK she said ABhi was the ONLY godo thing abt the movie).

Pity---I quite liked their pair.....she stck by Abhishek when he wasnt the cool dude post Bluffmaster....she was with him when he was the laughing stock in town who didnt even have a proper hairstyle!

Yes Dear, I remember reading your post...I even replied there...I agree with you that karishma married sanjay very hastily....she should've waited just like abhi to find the right person! he is not a nice person...becuz during the time of their divorce one news channel showed an e-mail which karishma wrote to sanjay...where she mentions how he used to verbally abused her...dont know how authentic it was.....bcuz no one denied it...but then she chose to write her own destiny...she has to be with him atleast for the sake of her daughter...and not make foolish mistakes like her mother!
