Mumbai, May 10: Amitabh Bachchan has revived his old enmity with Shah Rukh Khan (SRK) by calling his latest show Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hai' a flop. Amitabh Bachchan made the comments about SRK's game show on Star TV on his blog.
Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan have been locked in a long running battle for the top spot of the Indian film industry Bollywood. Though SRK has completely overshadowed any other star in Indian cinema industry, but Big B has a never say die sprit and he is never out of reckoning.
He compared his show on star Kaun Banega Crorepati by saying, "the strength of KBC as a game show is quite apparent. 'Who wants to be a Millionaire' was and is successful in over 80 countries, so India moved with some degree of advantage, Star TV having tested the waters so to speak, before its launch."
He said that when he was hosting the show it was a big success and he was amazed why Shah Rukh's show failed to match the TRP ratings with his. "Major stars presenting it came as an added benefit and the little prelude on morals and life I think became attractive for the elders. KBC 1 ran non stop for almost two years and then with an adequate break the 2 and the 3. I am unable to understand its falling interest as the graphs show despite the fact that they were presented by bigger and more popular stars, namely ShahRukh" said Bachchan.
He said that he was bewildered to see the bad format of Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hai' saying "and now to see 'Panchvi Pass', or as one rival channel executive sniggered, 'Panchvi Fail', after its not too encouraging numbers, facing relative lower ratings is what I wish to debate".
He questioned the game show's format for the lackluster response it has received. "Is the format of question answer game shows loosing its shine?", said he.
Bachchan went on to add insult to injury saying, "despite the presence of the biggest name in the business, why its depleted performance?"
The game show is almost the copycat of the famous international game show "Are you smarter than a 5th grade".
