Moody Talk - Shiney Ahuja
The famously reticent Shiney Ahuja is in a mood to talk. But then, Shiney is changing these days. The actor who is known for his intense roles on screen is now flirting with action (Hijack) and comedy (Harpal) too.
"I am doing Hijack for which I had to shoot for six days, hanging from a chopper. It really did test my limits. I pushed myself really hard and it was at these times that I made use of a lot of things that my father, who is an armyman, taught me."
Are action films the reason why the hunk is sporting bulging biceps these days? "I am not trying to do too much of bodybuilding. I have been weight training, but now I have shifted to yoga.
It is wonderful. It relaxes me and helps me connect with my mind and body. Honestly, yoga has helped me concentrate and stay more in control," Shiney explains.
The health-conscious actor has recently turned vegetarian too. But he insists that has to do with love rather than health. "I was a typical Punjabi boy who loved his butter chicken. My wife, on the other hand, is a vegetarian. After our marriage, she started eating chicken for me. But now, I have turned vegetarian. Look what women do to you, first they leave something for you and then you end up leaving things for them," he says with a smile.
And what about all the rumours of his marriage being on rocks? "People started talking about my marriage and insinuating that I wanted a divorce. When I said that there is nothing wrong and I am happy, they still insisted that I was doing it for appearance's sake. I have now started taking it all in my stride," he says.
