Salman-Katrina: Making history

Bollywood's master crafter, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is famous for his opulent sets and knack of extracting dynamic performances from his actors. Khamoshi, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas, Black and Saawariya are among Bollywood's grandest films, but Bhansali's most ambitious film is yet to be unleashed. Audiences can soon revel in the director's vision with Bajirao Mastani, a period film starring Bhansali's favourite actor and good friend Salman Khan and the lovely Katrina Kaif.

Apparently, Katrina's role was first offered to Aishwarya Rai. Ash, however, immediately turned it down, as she wasn't interested in working with ex-boyfriend Salman. The offer then passed to Kareena Kapoor, who declined for unknown reasons. Perhaps the role was always meant for Kat, Salman's real-life lady love.

Bajirao Mastani is said to be Bhansali's most expensive film yet. Scripting is now complete and shooting will begin soon. Let's hope the mega-budget project compensates for the lukewarm response Saawariya received.

hmm.. if this project works out for sallu & kat, i'll be so happy for katrina. SLB can bring out really good performances from his actors/actresses. i mean he even brought out great memorable performances from sallu & srk, both of whom aren't 'acting' actors.😃

but din sanjay himself say he wn't make dis film widout salman 😕
