Vinod Khanna on small screen wid Smriti

Vinod Khanna is happy playing Kashinath on 'Mere Apne'.

He was one of the big actors of the 70's and the 80's so, when Vinod Khanna decided to transition to the small screen, Producer Smriti Irani had to make it a worthwhile experience for the star.

Veteran Vinod Khanna commented on his role, "The character of Kashinath which I portray in the serial is within my field of experience and I also, think that I am doing justice to the role."

Based on sources close to the production, Smriti Irani is paying big buck to Vinod for the show, and when we asked more about this to Mr. Khanna, the actor gave a witty spin to it, "There is the money factor of course and I felt the need to justify the demands of my fans, who have been asking to see more of me."

Vinod in fact, loves working with the cast and the crew whom he describes as, "Mere Apne."
