How can your forget Madhuri and Aishwarya? LOL the list is def messed up!

Rani deserves to be on the list. She was fab in saathiya, yuva, black, hum-tum, lcmd, Veer-Zaara... she IS a deserving actor. period...

but well yes i agree... there are many who should have been in the list. Actresses like Konkona, Nutan, Waheeda Rehman, Madhuri Dixit should hv been in the list ...Preity deserves to be on the list too !

I think madz should definitely be up there, and something in kareena's defense. She's NOT up there for JWM. She's up there for Dev, Refugee, and Chameli, and the roles she played in these movies was definitely women oriented and showed women in a very strong light. Oppressed by society, all three of these characters rose above their circumstances. Aaliya, Chameli, and Naz were very strong women.

Rani deserves to be there!..I dont understand what point many of u guys here r trying to make by saying how she doesnt deserve to be there! 😕 😕 .....her roles in films like Saathiya, KANK, VZ, Mangal Pandey, Black, LCMG, Yuva, Saawariya, Bunty n Babli all were diverse roles, hence shes there for a reason!!!..how on earth does she not deserve to be there! 😕 ..and plus, she knows how to act, unlike many others!..she acted superbly in each and every role..its different to do diverse roles and then fall flat on the floor by acting awfully..but Rani has acted well in each and every film of hers! ..and she has worked hard to get where she is today!

Rani even goes to the extent of being the supporting actress in many of her films, despite being a mainstream heroine..she totally deserves every appreciation she gets and i think many of us should realize that she is a versatile actress and start appreciating!

i think a lot people here are mixing a good actress with a path braking actress, i want to ask them if they know what path braking means, if so then how did rani, kareena, and kajol break paths, and before you name black and gupt, people lets not forget they are actors so obviously they will act in movies, and please dont even bother mentioning jab we met, path breaking is doing extraordinary which actresses like tabu, waheeda rehman, nutan have done.
in this generation i think more than anyone else konkana deserves the title, with the range of roles she has done, from mr. and mrs. iyer to 15 park avenue to aaja nachley and everything in the middle. she is awesome at what she has done.
also preity zinta should be in the list for keeping her head high and maintaining her dignity, doing good movies, and making a mark outside bollywood, bringing change in the budget to help women, coming together to clean mumbai streets, a cricket team under her belt and a lot more that she has done in the past, no actress comes close to what she has done. yet she manages to maintain her ever so gorgeous smile and her vivacious nature!
but why am i complaining since the author of the article mixed path breaking with good acting and bias too, i bet the situtation must have been something like this, the night before women's day the author got off from bed with an epiphany, "hm...lets make a list of path breaking actresses, boss will be impressed" but as the author started with the list s/he ran out of names so s/he started to add his or her list of favorite actresses 😆

Ash, Does path breaking mean some good performances in arty films? Then Nandita Das, Seema Biswas, Pallavi Joshi, Deepti Naval and all are path-breakers too.

Well! take out all pretty looking glam dolls and put entire arthouse as path-breakers.😛

Where is Devika Rani? Wasn't she the first real heroine of Hindi cinema? She broke paths in several ways😆.

My list would include Smita Patil, Waheeda Rehman, Zeenat Aman and Sridevi.

Probably Madhuri Dixit for just one reason that at one time she commanded highest remuneration in Bollywood when all other male actors were billed lesser than her. Only Sridevi and Madhuri could achieve that and for that I respect them.

Now it is all corporate money and male leads get 3 or 4 times than female leads. The gap is too huge to be filled by any female actor.
