Sahib Biwi Aur Ghulam in trouble
Despite Salman-Priyanka-John, the chances of the film being made are slim
PNC announced the remake of Gurudutt's Sahib Biwi Aur Ghulam with much fanfare, with John Abraham, Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra in leading roles, under the direction of Rituparno Ghosh.
However the project is looks like it's indefinitely delayed, though PNC is trying to keep the project afloat.
The project has been riddled with problems since the day it was announced. As per the last announcement, the film had John Abraham in the role of Bhootnath, Priyanka Chopra as the Chhoti Bahu and Salman as the Zamindar.
The problem is with the casting. A source reveals, "Rituparno was keen on casting John as Bhootnath, but Salman wanted that part and even asked the director to consider him for the role. But Rituparno wasn't convinced. Since the announcement of the film, John has almost distanced himself from the project. Rituparno, who is very close to Bipasha Basu, won't go ahead with the project without John."
Too much
Adding to that is Salman's feud with Priyanka, and now it looks like SBAG will never be made. The source continues, "Rituparno is very keen on presenting his take on the film and has been pressing PNC to revive the project. He's also spoken to John and asked him not to back out of the film."
When contacted Pritish Nandy denied the development and said, "This isnt true at all."
