Votes, votes and nothing but the votes! India's biggest and only Bollywood opinion poll, Star Gold's Idea Sabsey Favourite Kaun 2008 reached its pinnacle as over 2 million Bollywood fans across the country voted for their favourite stars. Indian Cinema's biggest and brightest stars came together at a glittering night that saw some dazzling and electrifying performances by heartthrob Shahid Kapur, ravishing beauty Katrina Kaif and above all a never before seen act by multi-faceted singing sensation Himesh Reshammiya.
Hosted by the popular and charming Shilpa Shukla, Tanya Abrol Chitrashi Rawat and Vidya Malvade. The finale evening also presented the viewers with their dynamic act by the presenters for the first time on the stage. The finale was attended by Sharukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal, Shreyas Talpade, Rishi & Neetu Kapur, Ranbir Kapur, Arshad Warsi, Rahul Bose, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Celina Jaitley, Tanisha Mukherjee, Minissha Lamba, former hockey player and coach Meer Ranjan Negi and former Indian cricket team captain - Mohammad Azharuddin.
This year's nominee's witnessed cut-throat competition amongst the stars and it was truly 'Pure Fan Power' which has made the best walk away with the honors.
Sabsey Favourite Hero: Shah Rukh Khan
Well, its Shah Rukh Khan all the way. The Badshaah of Bollywood proved that he is still the famous Khan around winning the SFK title for the fifth year in a row. With two hits under his belt this year, SRK walked away with the first award of the season. We are sure the others will follow suit.
Sabsey Favourite Heroine: Katrina Kaif
Katrina Kaif was the biggest surprise of the year. After delivering a superhit at the beginning of the year with Namastey London, Katrina went on to woo the audience with her performance in Partner. This award was a tie between Katrina Kaif and Rani Mukherji.
Sabsey Favourite Comedian: Arshad Warsi
Arshad Warsi first showed us his comic style while hosting the SFK awards. He became a household name when he essayed the role of 'Circuit' in Munnabhai. Ever since there has been no looking back for Arshad Warsi who has been revelling in comedy.
Naya Hero: Ranbir Kapoor
He comes from a family that has been part of films for deacades. Ranbir Kapoor made his much awaited debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya and won a lot of accolades for his performance. Therefore it is no surprise that he won the Naya Hero award.
Nayi Heroine: Deepika Padukone
She was a supermodel who is now being touted as the next superstar. Deepika Padukone made a dream debut alongside Shah Rukh Khan in his home production Om Shanti Om. The movie became a super hit and Deepika became a star. With films from big banners already in her kitty, Deepika is headed right to the top.
Sabsey Tez Sitara: Himesh Reshammiya
He had the whole nation dancing to his tunes and now Himesh had floored the audience with his acting skills. His debut movie Aap Ka Suroor was a hit and Himesh got himself a new career option.
