Aishwarya-Funeral Pyre

In Hindu culture, it is said that it is bad for women to go to a funeral pyre. Apparently its unlucky. Why did she and Shweta go? In Hindu culture, the men go to cremate the body and the women stay at home.

I mean, I can understand why Shweta would want to go. Teji Bachchan was her grandmother. But Teji Bachchan wasnt even competent when Aishwarya joined their family. She was already in critical condition. She shouldve stayed at home w/ her mother-in-law.

But Amitabh Bachchan seems like a man who honors traditions and culture. Why didnt he stop them from going?

Can someone clear this up for me? Please?

I agree with you. suhan and juliechand. I don't understand this criticism. Aish was not going around the pyre. She was seen far away from it. please leave her alone.
