The big three -- Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor -- boasted of big names and equally big banners. While Deepika hit it off in Om Shanti Om, the two Kapoors too didn't do so badly, despite their Saawariya coming a cropper.
So, what's in store for the three? Rediff.com takes a peek:
Deepika Padukone
She has been the luckiest of all.
Besides getting major recognition with Om Shanti Om, Deepika has got many endorsements. Now her face is all over the telly.
And it just gets better for the young actress. After starring opposite Shah Rukh Khan, she is set to do a film with superstar Akshay Kumar.
The film, directed by Nikhil Advani, is tentatively called Made in China, and will go to the floor in January. Warner Brothers' first Indian production -- jointly with Ramesh Sippy -- this is going to be a big-budget feature, shot in China over six months.
Reportedly, she's going for the third superstar too! It is learnt that Deepika may star opposite Salman Khan in his next home production, directed by Sohail Khan.
Ranbir Kapoor
He was touted as the biggest teen sensation of the country.
Like his father Rishi Kapoor -- who became the nation's heartthrob overnight debuting in Bobby with Dimple Kapadia -- Ranbir too hoped to make it big with Saawariya.
And though the film tanked, he didn't. His good performance has been noted.
Now, the actor is all geared up to do his next film. This time it's a Yash Raj Films project, with director Siddharth Anand -- the man behind Salaam Namaste and Ta Ra Rum Pum.
Apparently, the film has four heroines, Deepika Padukone, Minisha Lamba, Bipasha Basu and Katrina Kaif.
We only hope he is lucky this time after the Saawariya debacle.
Sonam Kapoor
She didn't get much chance to act vis-a-vis Ranbir in Saawariya.
Yet whatever little she was called on to do, she did brilliantly.
She is still hearing scripts from various producers but nothing has been finalised as yet.
Last we heard, she is supposed to be doing Rakyesh Mehra's Dilli 6. The search is still on for the hero after Abhishek Bachchan and then Hrithik Roshan opted out. Then it was Siddharth of Rang De Basanti fame. But latest reports suggest he too is not part of the film anymore.
At present, it's hard to speculate about the film as Mehra has considering the project for over a year now.
