Khan calls on the Kapoors

They discussed Mac computers, internet and Nasir Husain on a quiet afternoon. They are Aamir Khan and Shammi Kapoor

Expect the unexpected from Aamir Khan. He went all the way to Shammi Kapoor's residence to seek his blessings and present a copy of his film music and seek his blessings. Kapoor was obviously thrilled to receive Aamir and he did so with lot of enthusiasm and affection.

Aamir's family has a long standing relationship with Shammi Kapoor, as Aamir's uncle Nasir Hussain had made many films like 'Teesri Manzil' and 'Tumsa Nahin Dekha' starring Shammi Kapoor.

Aamir touched his feet and presented him a copy of the music CD of 'Taare Zameen Par'. Kapoor told him about his passion for internet and Mac computers. And right there in Aamir's presence Kapoor heard the music of the film on his computer.

Aamir says, "I spent a couple hours last evening with Shammi uncle, the Elvis Presley of Indian Cinema (not as a singer but as a star). He is a close friend of my uncle Nasir Husain who was one of the most successful directors of his time. I trained under Chachajaan (Husain) as an assistant director for four years. Chachajaan is not with us today but it would have been a very happy day for him. I wanted Shammi uncle to hear the music and wanted his blessings. Shammi uncle is the coolest and I so enjoyed being with him. Very few people have the spirit of life that Shammi uncle has and there is a lot to learn from him. He showed me a picture that he keeps in his room of him and Chachajaan on the sets of one of the films they did together. I felt so happy."

Aamir was accompanied by the music directors of the film, Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy, lyricist Prasoon Joshi and the producer of the music, Bhushan Kumar of T-series. Shashi Kapoor with his daughter Sanjna were also present.
