Patel jumps off a height of 20 feet with a twisted ankle!
Upen Patel is hell-bent on proving that he can do action stunts inspite of a twisted ankle. Recently, he jumped from a height of 20 feet without any padding or wires and came away unhurt!
High jump
Talking about the incident Upen says, "The shot was of a song being picturised on Tanisha and me for Ashiwini Dheer's 1-2-3. A huge set of a nightclub had been erected with a balcony. I jumped from the balcony in the middle of dancers without any wires or padding. For me it was a high, as I love doing stunts, but the choreographer Ganesh was reluctant as it looked risky. He didn't want me to hurt myself."
The risk paid off. Upen says, "After the shot got over, they liked it so much that they made me re-shoot 10 times as they wanted different angles."

Upen had injured his foot earlier when he was rehearsing for the same song. "While rehearsing I suddenly twisted my ankle and landed on my hurt feet."
Didn't he hurt his foot once again when he landed on it from a 20 feet height? "I did but it wasn't too much as I have been taking painkiller injections in my leg so it's kind of numb."
Just back
Upen's just got back from London. "I shopped till I dropped there as I didn't know when I would be back.
I bought 15 pairs of shoes and 10 pairs of skinny jeans for men from Oxford Street in different colours and designs - from patchwork to embroidered stuff.
In Skinny jeans the fit is good. One doesn't get good accessories, underwear or shoes for men in India."
Upen however doesn't jump into conversation when it veers of to his relationship with Tabu. "I have no idea where the rumour started from. I am single and not dating anybody.
Right now I am happy concentrating on my work. I want to work and make money. There will plenty of time for love."
