Priyanka Chopra featured in the "Hot Stuff" section...

Hottest male co-star: Shah Rukh Khan
What's hot about Shah Rukh?: Dude, the fact that he is SHAH RUKH KHAN! (sigh)

Kareena:"During the shooting of Asoka, there has been times when Shahrukh would tell me,'Kareena....concentrate on the shot...not on me'"

In a word, how would you describe Shah Rukh Khan?
RANI: Irreplaceable.

Any particular actor you would love to work with?

Vidya Balan:Shah Rukh Khan.Even a song sequence with him would do.

Boman Irani talks about SRK and MHN

------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------

Spit & pyjamas Boman Irani narraties some real howlers

So Boman Irani knows how to make you laugh like no one else can. But what tickles his funny bone? We got Boman to pick six of the funniest incidents that have hit him recently and he came up with some real howlers!

We had a blast during the making of Main Hoon Na... especially when Farah Khan got hyper! Farah is really funny when she's angry—she then starts talking in a monotone with a blurred accent: "Haay-Boman-what-are-you-doing-here-man? Listen-I-am making a fulltu-masala-film!"

But there were some non-Farah moments too. People find the spitting scene in MHN hilarious but trust me, it was even funnier for us. Because Satish Shah had a ball spitting on Shah Rukh, while SRK had to keep a deadpan expression throughout.

The dancers and the technicians would all gather around to watch the fun but they had standing instructions not to laugh till Shah Rukh did. So they'd just grin and wait for Shah Rukh to start the laughathon.

What was equally maddening for Shah Rukh was that Satish's 'spit' was erratic. Sometimes he would spit more than required, sometimes Shah Rukh would be all ready and waiting and no spit would emerge at all.

And through it all Shah Rukh had to 'grin and bear it'!

One day in Darjeeling, I went to the mall for a stroll. Since some of my ads were on air at the time, people recognised me and it felt wonderful. A group of girls came up to me and asked to click a snap with me. I was embarrassed; nothing of that sort had ever happened to me before. But they gheraoed me and asked me to spend some more time with them.

So I sat with them on the park bench. And then beautiful kids with pink cheeks surrounded me and kept saying, "Sir, you are so sweet. My friend finds you very good looking." Deep down I thought, Lord, I've never heard that before but it must be true.

After spending a good half-hour with them, I started back for the hotel but they just wouldn't let go of me. They were literally clinging to my arms and I felt, wow, what a fan following I have amongst the girls.

When we were almost at the hotel, the prettiest girl raised her voice, and declared, "Boman, we tried to be friendly with you because we want to know when Shah Rukh Khan is coming to Darjeeling." Oh Almighty, and I thought they fancied me. Shah Rukh, I don't stand a chance with the girls when you're around! LoL...

Here's the last one from Main Hoon Na. One day I was reading a book in my room after dinner, dressed in pyjamas and my Parsi sadra. To the uninitiated, let me reveal that I love wearing pyjamas with cartoon prints. Sometimes it's Popeye, that day it was Tom-and-Jerry.

So there I was, relaxing in my room when I heard a knock on my door. I opened the door and I saw the prince himself, Shah Rukh Khan.

"Can I come in, Boman? I've come just to thank you for doing this movie for our company," was all he could say before he looked down and spotted my pyjamas.

For a minute or two, he just lost his cue. I could sense the very confident Shah Rukh Khan searching for words. My pyjamas had made him speechless!

Finally, he just said, "Boman, if you need anything, I am just next door," and left the room.

My pyjamas had choked the prince himself. He must have fallen down laughing as soon as he reached his room.

One day, I'd like to barge into his room to see what pyjamas he wears to bed!

Kajol"If you enjoy working with the people around you, it shows on screen. I really enjoy working with Shah Rukh. He is my friend. That bonding is reflected on screen. It creates cine-magic."

Hrithik Roshan

"Shah Rukh Khan will always be a friend, an elder brother whom I'll look up to. He's seen me grow up. I always wanted to be like Shah Rukh. He was very helpful. He has been my best costar so far."

Rani Mukherjee

"Shah Rukh constantly motivates me to give my best. His dedication and focus have shown me how to conduct my own career. He treats me like a child. A co-star who is concerned about more than just himself is really helpful."

Sushmita Sen

"I've always thought that Shah Rukh and I would make a very interesting casting coup. But other than Farah, nobody seems to have looked at it that way. Shah Rukh's a lovely man, besides being a lovely producer and co-star. He treated us so well. There would be chocolates and flowers in our vans everyday. And he'd personally make sure, 'Sush aur Amrita (Rao) ne khana khaya?' These little things he does makes him a good man…"

Saif Ali Khan

"Shah Rukh is a top actor and I am trying to get there. I have a long way to go. I just tried to keep up with his acting standards so that people can get a high level of work to watch. It's like when you are with him in a scene, you are forced to give your best."

Preity Zinta

"Shah Rukhs's brilliant and a powerhouse of energy. He's always hyper and he wants you to do the shot fast. He's excellent with improvising. He's very unselfish and will never try to take your place. He keeps you on your toes. His timing is great and if you are not alert, you drop the scene from your side."

Kareena Kapoor

"Shahrukh Khan is one of my favorite actors. There is something about Shahrukh, the way he dresses, his boy next-door appeal, his energy and sense of humor that is amazing."

Zayed Khan

"What can I say about Shah Rukh, man? I love him! I've been a great fan of his work. My respect for him multiplied after I worked with him. I guess it's the same kind of respect that I've for Amitabh Bachchan."

Priyanka Chopra

"My most memorable moment of the Miss India competition is Shah Rukh Khan. My day was made when I picked him to ask me a question. My cousins who were in the audience were sure I'd swoon. I'm such a die-hard fan of his. Later, at the photo-shoot with him, I was tongue-tied. I was nervous. He still teases me about that."

Amrita Rao

"Doing a Shah Rukh film immediately increases your national and international market. It's a giant leap in one's career. He's like Midas. Starring alongside one of the country's greatest actors is amazing, especially during the beginning of my career. He's so enthusiastic and energetic. It's impressive because his following is huge and his fans unconditionally accept him."

Suniel Shetty

"I really admire him. He gives his life for films. I used to think that I am committed to films, but when I see him I feel I am nothing compared to him. He breathes cinema. He understands cinema. He knows the pulse of the audience. That's why SRK is the greatest superstar of our country today."

Lara Dutta

Shah Rukh is an amazing human being. His being involved made Kaal all the more special."

Esha Deol

"In Hollywood, I love Sylvester Stallone. I think he is too cute to be true. In Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan still rules."

Riteish Deshmukh

" Shah Rukh Khan is the reason I became an actor , " .He continues in his low , confident voice , " He is what every guy wants to be - the ultimate cool guy , the ultimate lover , the ultimate friend . I remember watching him in 'Darr' when I was still in college and thinking , 'If only I could feel even an ounce of that passion for someone , it could be amazing ."

Manisha Koirala- "He is so full of life, he makes everyone around him appear like wimps."

Yash johar: Shah Rukh Khan is an actor par excellence. What is most enduring about him is that success has not gone to his head. He respects human values and relationships.

Unlike a lot of other stars, he's not a burden to a producer. If he gets along well with a producer he goes out of his way to help him. While we were shooting for duplicate, Juhi's mother expired in Prague and because of the tragedy we had to postpone a lot of our schedules.

Shah Rukh knew we were having a lot of money problems because of this, so he wouldn't accept any money from us, till i gave it to him on the last day of
the shoot. He is a big star, with a bigger heart.

"It's difficult to know Shah Rukh, but never to love him."
-Farah Khan

"SRK are three alphabets that everyone wants to make four-letter words with."
-KJ

"There is a certain languid sensuality about Shah Rukh Khan when it comes to romantic scenes. This, he effortlessly combines with his gaze, which reflects a controlled desire." –Juhi

"He is one person who can just turn around and be a different person, so i don't know which one i am dealing with. He keeps you unprepared for that and I think that's a mark of any great person." –Sanjay Leela Bhansali

Sushmita Sen

Shah Rukh Khan: He has a soul connection with me. What I like most about him is the fact that I like him and I've got a very distinguished taste in men. I also like his energy. What keeps him going is his ability to never sit down and grumble, "I am tired."

Riya Sen:She might have flaunted the hottest boyfriends in town, but this sexy actress has different parameters when it comes to choosing a husband. Every good-looking man is not husband material after all, even the sex-kitten Riya endorses that. So when we popped the question - 'Which Bollywood actor according to her makes perfect husband material', she was quick and smart to answer it. "It's Shah Rukh Khan. He has this amazing image on-screen and off-screen. I absolutely adore him; he makes perfect husband material." We aren't surprised; more than half the nation's women want SRK himself, or at least a man like him to take home.

Rani Mukherji

Contrary to the popular belief, she believes that the SRK-Rani on-screen pair is the best. "I always feel I looked best with SRK, and perform better with him. I love romancing him and Aamir on-screen. Off-screen they have their respective partners. I can try my luck as their love interest in my next birth," she laughingly quips. She continues, "I am talking completely from a fan's point of view. I started out quite young, and today of course, the equation is more that of friends, I learnt everything from them. Subconsciously, I have always followed them."

Ashley Judd on SRK: His charm and grace floored me

Penelope Cruz:"I am a great fan of Indian cinema and I would love to work with Shah Rukh Khan"

Priety:

The talk then veers towards her co-star Shah Rukh Khan. And Preity states that working with him was the best part of Veer-Zaara. "We discovered each other," she smiles. "And I actually learnt to trust him. When he's carrying me over the bridge in the film, the shot looks so simple. But my heart was banging against my chest. There was a river below and I don't know how to swim. But he didn't even look down once. He was looking at me or looking straight in the camera. I asked him if he was okay and he said, 'Don't worry, Preity.' And I stopped worrying. That kind of trust is on a very human level."

Elaborating her point further, she continues, "For the helicopter scene, we were suspended for 6 hours on the harness. Yash uncle told me, 'Beta, you can come down and take a break.' But I refused because if I alighted, I knew I wouldn't be able to climb up again. It was killing me to be up there. I knew Shah Rukh had a neck problem. But he was so supportive. He told me if I wanted I could put my feet on his feet. He was in terrible pain. But he was bearing all that pain and a little bit more just to make me comfortable. And I felt that in life we can be so petty and small. And when things like these happen you realise the true value of friendship and love."

And that comfort level extended to the world tour as well. "He's the most amazing person to do world tours with," she natters on. "Because he's so quality conscious, he makes sure everything is great. This world tour was great because of the kind of people we had on the shows. You know, it's the biggest hit ever. The shows were packed. One reason why we enjoyed ourselves so much is because there was so much positivism. I go along terrifically with Rani, Arjun, with Priyanka. We had a blast. Out here, all the gossip was happening while there all the fun and partying was on."

Akul Kasbekar, Photographer

"I think he represents the equivalent of the great Indian dream. He is hardworking, focused and intelligent. He came from nowhere, made it big completely on his own merit. He is inspirational. He picks up things very quickly, and is usually two steps ahead of things-wether it is understanding a concept for an endorsement, or imaging. In fact, he always wants to do everything himself, and it would help if he delegated things a bit! Once we were shooting at Mehboob Studios, and an old lady came there with a medical document for her son, who needed surgery for cancer. She clearly couldnt afford it. Shah Rukh told his secretary (to)take the lady to the hospital and see that all her needs are taken care of. He did it very quietly. I just happened to be within earshot, or I would have no clue. And he does a lot of this. Once at his house, I saw him telling Aryan, his son, to learn to give toy to another child. He told his son, "someone up there will bless you with a lot more if you learn how to give."

Boman Irani, Actor, Photographer

"I met him first in Darjeeling. I had turned in early that night. He had just arrived and knocked at my door to welcome me to the film. I opened the door and was in my infamous pajamas and Parsi sudra. He put up one of his finest performances to make sure he had not noticed my hilarious pajamas. His welcome was warm and so gentlemanly that he chose not to look below my nose. We kept thanking each other for some strange reason. He may have (thanked me) for entertainment and I for his straight-faced performance. I was on the floor when he left and I am sure he was too."

Cory Walia, Make-Up Artist

"He is a communicator. He gets through to people. He makes an effort with everyone, from the common manto the people of his social class. he gets along with just about anyone. This is ShahRukh Khans trily outstanding quality."

Deepa Gahlot, Film Critic

"His most remarkable quality is his extraordinary charisma and star power, which draws the audience even into films that are not great. Apart from the star quality, he has tremendous energy, an endearing eagerness to please and undisputed professionalism that makes him a favourite with this directors."

Ehsan Noorani, Music Composer

"He is the King! He is today what Amitabh Bachchan used to be. Not only he is a great actor, but he also draws in the fans as well. He has a great fan base-from children to much older people. He is a phenomen."

Farooq Sheikh, TV Anchor

"Extraordinary. He does regular style roles with zeal, commitment and energy. He takes us high on a wave he creates. He is an extraordinary performer."

Gautam Rajadhyaksha, Photographer

"There are several incidents I can think of when Shah Rukh has proved beyond doubt that he embodies the zenith of professionalism. One clear incident in my mind is when I had written the film ANJAM, starring Madhuri Dixit and ShahRukh Khan. I told Rahul Rawail, the director, that I have only enough time to work on the one-line, the overall structural sequence of the film, after which I may only be able to supervise things a bit. I had no time to do the dialogues, or the screenplay, or to come to the sets,. The film did happen, but it was unpolished in parts, and didnt cause such a stir. Shah Rukh then told me something I can never forget. He said,"You must never abandon any creative endeavour, wether it's a photograph, an article, a quote...stay with it to the bitter end, it is your property, it must not be given over to someone else."

"He practises this in his own way. Shah Rukh will always describe work as "our photo session", "our shoot", and if it means he needs to extend himself beyond necessary levels to help a photographer achieve a certain result, or a director get the best out of a particular scene, he will not flinch. He is all eyes, all ears, and will give his best, and yet never interfere. He respects anothers frame of reference, deadlines, and will squeeze in everything hes got in the time he has."

Harsh Goenka, Industrialist

"As an artiste ShahRukh Khan personifies energetic and spirited youthfulness. As a person, he exudes charm and has a strange sense of confidence and along with it, vulnerability. His acting skills are absolutely fantastic. Definitely ma favorite actor today.

Ila Arun, Singer

"We went for a World Tour together in 1996, where we were both performing on stage. I saw him performing, his energy on stage reminded me of my energy when I am performing. He is a very sincere and disciplined performer. Very intense. He has a strong personality, an extraordinary person. He is not tall, not broad, but what is reat about him are his inner strengths-his expressions, his facial strengths. There is nothing macho about him, except his inner strengths."

Vidya Balan:

I love Shahrukh Khan.
I met him recently, when 30 stars shot for a number in his production 'Om Shanti Om'. He's so gracious. He has been a part of my impressionable years in the way he wooed his heroines! I feared being tongue-tied on meeting him. But he put me at ease effortlessly.

Tanushree Dutta

"I have been on Mission Shah Rukh ever since I came into Bollywood. I would love to do a role with him. What has inspired and impressed me is his boundless energy and passion for acting. He is just amazing. You won't believe that I have watched Asoka 15 times because I adore Shah Rukh more than anything else in the entire film industry!"
