My faith into everything concerning the legislative (including the different departments) - not only the Indian ones - is always according to the way things are handled...and in this case - again - it is quite obvious that the work of the police doesn't inspire me to believe into a thorough work. Not once a statement from their side brought facts as such but only something they pretend to be facts. Imo, it isn't farfetched to think that they just grabbed someone in a weak social/legal position and now try to manipulate things to make him the culprit. Everything that had been reported by the police could be a lie they turn into truth. In my thinking, that isn't "conspiracy" from my side but just knowledge about police work and legal matters.
I think, there is a very valuable reason that Saif and family don't interfere by making public statements themselves. They have enough to do to deal with the aftermath of the incident. I'm in no hurry to hear something from their side.
I also guess, that several high profile Hindi film celebs with children have to deal with a lingering anxiety about the current state of affairs.
