Organic or hype created by PR? Diljit Dosanjh

As the year closes lets discuss about the stars of 2024. Overall Diljit Dosanjh has been in the limelight for the entire year due to his concerts around the globe. Some say its organic and he deserves it after years of hardwork and some credit his pr team for using social media to their benefit. There have been singers from punjabi domain who have had even more popular songs which people still sing after years. So what sets diljit different? He was all over. If that was just PR then the firm deserves a hike.

I think people do love him, esp in North India. A lot of my friends went to his Delhi concert and they had a blast.

I have only heard 4-5 songs of his and I like those. But I find him really funny, so if I randomly come across his interview on Youtube, I do watch. He is v likeable.

The other singer I heard abt this year is Aujla. He became really famous for Tauba Tauba (and that is the only song of his that I have heard).

I do like some of his songs but the hype suddenly peaked out of nowhere . Honey Singh songs back in the day were bigger blockbusters at the ground level.

I think that only those who attended one of his concerts can give their impression if he was hyped by PR or genuinely merits the praise. The clips I saw gave me a good impression

I’ll say this because I have attended Diljit’s concert this year and I Amma gonna say it - OVERRATED..I bought into this madness around his live concerts but I personally think Sonu/ Arijit/ erstwhile KK have been much more fun to listen to..perhaps because I am a big BW music junkie..my favourite concerts though have to be Shankar Mahadevan and Javed Ali.

In Punjabi space .. I’m glad Yo Yo has staged a fairly decent comeback this year with Millionaire and Payal.

Hype begets hype. People will start turning on him soon, too; it's the way of celebrity hype cycles.

the only clip i saw was the ambani fucntion where the younger ambani requested him to do the performance few more mins. maybe he connects with the audience.

All pr, the Bangalore one sucked tbh. The whole Deepika clips were in the front but it was just boring you never got the feeling of being in a Punjabi concert. Also only few songs are massive.

Compare that with Honey Singh or Badshah or hell even a Daler mehandi songs during functions and weddings get more hype and whistles.

A lot of it is PR, and helping as he is anti government took so the woke crowd have started liking him

From music and concert on the ground nah.
