I don't think it's a given. Filmfare generally hasn't recognized Katrina. She's only had 2 Best Actress nominations (New York and MBKD) and one Best Supporting Actress nomination for Zero. Many felt she should have won for Zero like Anushka won for Jab Tak Hai Jaan.

Filmfare snubbed Katrina for Rajneeti, Namastey London, Ek Tha Tiger, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Bharat, Tiger 3, etc. 2012 was her year between Ek Tha Tiger and Jab Tak Hai Jaan and she could easily have gotten 2 nominations for both films but she didn't even get one.

In comparison, she has 3 Best Actress nominations from IIFA but for completely different movies than her Filmfare nominations. Namastey London, Singh is Kinng and Rajneeti. So it shows how both Filmfare and IIFA never really seemed to know what to do with her.

She has a lot more award nominations and even wins from other award shows. But Filmfare and IIFA never warmed up to her and they're the two main ones. That's why I think Katrina is not necessarily guaranteed to get a nomination but I hope she does.

But yes, I think Kriti is most deserving to win for TBMAUJ. Her Sifra is already part of pop culture and this film will be seen as a modern romcom classic like JWM, Band Baaja Bharaat, Hasse Toh Phasee, and Khoobsurat.

I will watch BB3 later today so I'll be able to gauge Vidya's performance for myself. But I think she's more likely to get a Filmfare nomination for Do Aur Do Pyaar. She got very good reviews for that film and it's the type of performance Filmfare likes to recognize from her (like Mission Mangal, Shakuntala Devi, Sherni, etc.)

Tbh those were some very meh performances. I don't see any FF bashing for not nominating katrina for movies like JTHJ (which was massively criticized esp for her acting) or movies like Bharat, tiger etc..where was the acting even? In fact FF nominated her for another meh performance in NY just because she happened to move some facial muscles over the absolutely brilliant koko in WUS..i mean katrina is the last person to be snubbed coz baring 2/3 movies her acting has been so bad and for those 2/3 movies she got nominated and praised..don't think anyone did her dirty considering her super limited craft..that being said..i do feel she deserves a nomination for MC but again def not deserving to win

P.S: if IIFA nominated her for Singh is king as best actress then i end the discussion here..

The ones who FF did dirty are actually tabu '& urmila and you pretty much wrote later what I wanted to say..how come these brilliant actresses have no FF best actress..thats just beyond biased &' unfair

Stree /Shraddha should win as she has the biggest hit amongst the popular women in Bollywood this year !! Now critics side that will probably goto a lesser known this year in my opinion who as shown something worthy in my opinion.

Kriti deserves it for TBMAUJ,Crew and Do Patti then there is Shraddha for Stree 2 who gave one of the HGOTY of this year, ,Parineeti for Chamkila and Bebo for Buckingham Murders.Pratibha and Nitanshi deserve best debut or Janki from Shaitaan.Jo bhi hai hope the worthy onee get the awards this year

In case one is thinking that it’s about who truly deserves to win then smh in case some haven’t learnt that but I’m going with Shraddha to win because she had the highest grosser amongst the popular stars she had a huge base ( popularity is important on these awards) and she as gotten praise in her role and she was whom the posters and promotions were based on.

I like Shradda and she did well in her role in Stree, but don’t think she performed a best actress worthy performance there. The Tripti one I said as a joke , her roles r so random Tbh I don’t even know who deserves to win though I watched some movies this year . Like someone mentioned Kriti could be a good option, tbh I didnt like her that much in that robot movie but she was good in Crew and Do Patti. But I liked Kareena’s acting more than Kriti in Crew .

Alia I actually liked her acting in Jigra but that movie didnt work in box office, movie was average but more than that I felt they put almost no effort in promoting that movie anyway, only posted the siblings song and thats it I think it would have done much better in the BO if they promoted it more. If I were to inclue web series too, struggle Ananya actually did well in Call Me Bae (cause she was playing herself somewhat )

Regarding Vidya, I have watched BB3. Vidya's performance is NOT nomination-worthy, unlike her performance in BB1. More or less, this was more of a supporting role for Vidya. Madhuri was even credited as a Special Appearance. I mean it was a decent, strong supporting role. Why call it a "special appearance"?

Do Aur Do Pyar was decent but even critical acclaim was not very strong.

I don't think Tabu will even be in the conversation this year. And like you said, she doesn't really need it at this point especially as she's returning to do HW work on a global scale. She's never been in the mainstream Bollywood circle and that's the group that seems more interested in awards. She seems rather above and beyond all that at this point. Not sure how big her role will be in the Dune TV show but if anything, she could be an Emmy award contender.

They already tried that with PR, ignoring Kriti and Tabu, and claiming that Bebo was responsible for Crew's success alone...ignoring that Crew made only slightly more than TBMAUJ which if anything, implied that it was Kriti boosting both movies. Bebo's "starpower" was evident by Buckingham Murders, a box office disaster that was actually beaten at the box office by the re-release of Tumbbad, a film with no A-Listers.

I've also seen BB3 now and I doubt Vidya or Madhuri will get nominations, although it's not entirely impossible. But they won't be Best Actress nominations for sure. I think Madhuri was billed as a special appearance because she's only in the second half of the movie or because she's such a huge star that giving her such little screentime is only justified if she's billed as a special appearance. Maybe it was something she asked for herself to keep her superstar image.

Vidya actually talked about not getting a Filmfare nomination for the first BB. How she was told that since it was a film remake, it wasn't eligible for a nomination. I find that very suspicious though because Aamir and Asin did Ghajini, which was a remake, and both got award nominations. Maybe because Asin was in the original, she was allowed to get a nomination for reprising the role but Aamir wasn't in the original Ghajini and he still got a Best Actor nod. So it doesn't make sense why Vidya wasn't allowed to get a nomination for starring in a remake.

The film reviews weren't unanimously crazy about Do Aur Do Pyaar but Vidya's performance was fairly lauded, moreso than the film. And Vidya generally has gotten Filmfare nominations for performances or films that weren't super well received like Shakuntala Devi. Even her Tumhari Sulu win, many people felt was unnecessary.
