Laaptaa Ladies girls are also there for a tough competition. They are definitely winning the Best Debut this year, but they surely deserve a nomination in the Best Actress category.

As for as OTT awards go, don't they only consider "webseries" and NOT "webfilms". Someone please double check this and clarify here because I dont have the energy to do that.

Because for webseries, it has to be Manisha Koirala or Sonakshi, for Heeramandi.

I forgot that Merry Christmas was a 2024 release. I keep associating it as a December 2023 release. It would be nice if Katrina was recognized because I think she did some of her best work there.

but kriti for TBMAUJ seems the best fit so far..

unless VB gets it for BB3? provided her role and performance was at par with tabu's in part 2 (who won critics choice for best actress) or her ownself in part 1..i haven't seen it movie but from the reviews and feedback it doesn't look like

Tabu should win for whatever movie she did this year. But she will never win popular actress because of how corrupt bw awards are. Wth is critics choice? Best actress is best actress. There is no popular or critics.

I don't think it's a given. Filmfare generally hasn't recognized Katrina. She's only had 2 Best Actress nominations (New York and MBKD) and one Best Supporting Actress nomination for Zero. Many felt she should have won for Zero like Anushka won for Jab Tak Hai Jaan.

Filmfare snubbed Katrina for Rajneeti, Namastey London, Ek Tha Tiger, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Bharat, Tiger 3, etc. 2012 was her year between Ek Tha Tiger and Jab Tak Hai Jaan and she could easily have gotten 2 nominations for both films but she didn't even get one.

In comparison, she has 3 Best Actress nominations from IIFA but for completely different movies than her Filmfare nominations. Namastey London, Singh is Kinng and Rajneeti. So it shows how both Filmfare and IIFA never really seemed to know what to do with her.

She has a lot more award nominations and even wins from other award shows. But Filmfare and IIFA never warmed up to her and they're the two main ones. That's why I think Katrina is not necessarily guaranteed to get a nomination but I hope she does.

But yes, I think Kriti is most deserving to win for TBMAUJ. Her Sifra is already part of pop culture and this film will be seen as a modern romcom classic like JWM, Band Baaja Bharaat, Hasse Toh Phasee, and Khoobsurat.

I will watch BB3 later today so I'll be able to gauge Vidya's performance for myself. But I think she's more likely to get a Filmfare nomination for Do Aur Do Pyaar. She got very good reviews for that film and it's the type of performance Filmfare likes to recognize from her (like Mission Mangal, Shakuntala Devi, Sherni, etc.)

BB2 was her best chance of winning since that was her most commercial film. But we all know what happened there and who won. *rolls eyes*

Andhadhun was her other best chance of winning Best Actress for her other very successfully commercial film but surprise surprise, she lost to the same person. *rolls eyes again*

So it's very unfair because both years she could easily have picked up the award.

Tabu, Manisha, and Urmila are all examples of stellar actresses who never won the Best Actress award. Only got the Best Actress (Critics) award because all three of them never made it into the mainstream. Urmila came closest with Rangeela but no one could win over Kajol and DDLJ that year, and Urmila signing only RGV movies over big banners like YRF meant she was never going to have any better chances after Rangeela.

It has to be kartik aryan for BB3 Watch the climax to believe this

I will be happy if both Kriti and Tabu win this year. I would still prefer Kriti to win the popular award. Because it will be encouraging for someone at her age and stage in career to win a 2nd popular award. Tabu is already a legend, and these awards don't really make a difference.

Only worried that if both Kriti/Tabu win this year, then Kareena's fans might throw a fit that and clain that Crew worked primarily because of Kareena.

Regarding Vidya, I have watched BB3. Vidya's performance is NOT nomination-worthy, unlike her performance in BB1. More or less, this was more of a supporting role for Vidya. Madhuri was even credited as a Special Appearance. I mean it was a decent, strong supporting role. Why call it a "special appearance"?

Do Aur Do Pyar was decent but even critical acclaim was not very strong.
