12th Fail seems to be the film of the 2023 year! I recently watched it and was mind blown. It seemed like this was the impact Dunki team was hoping for but missed their target

Again a comparison that makes no sense to me (other than - for the n-th time - hit out on SRK). Quite low...

12 Fail is indeed a superior movie to Dunki, but Dunki has its own charm. To me, Dunki is one of the best film sof the year along with Dhak Dhak and 12th Fail.

I know...which I find 'low', too.
Btw, SRK wouldn't have worked with Hirani under VV Chopra production house after the Paheli allegations...and rightly so.
When Hirani got ousted (rightly or wrongly, we won't know as the assistant only talked to Anupama and the rest happened from there on), he approached SRK as he always wanted to do a movie with him.
Haven't watched Dunki, so no comments..
But 12th Fail indeed is a cinematic brilliance.. Wasn’t expecting anything less from Massey and Chopra's partnership though..
Addition: please consider also the amount of support/bashing both movies got.
Both movie subjects are relevant for Indian society but just reading what was written here, for Dunki it was less about the subject but about an SRK movie...
Both. I think 12th Fail is objectively a slightly better movie but Dunki is right behind it, if not exactly side by side, and Dunki has the SRK factor and more of a commercial film.
12th Fail isn't a 'mainstream' movie, Dunki wanted to make a serious subject also a 'commercial' one.
So many differences, the only common thing being the importance of the subject.
It would be - in no way - a fair comparison.
