I changed it to an Aish gif afterwards because I felt her presence was needed on this thread. Now thanks to your quote, we can have both.

It's Deepika's head they are cutting off for Padmavati's sake. They are not vilifying Padmavati but Deepika herself because they feel she has wronged Padmavati.

But I will agree that SRK gets extra hate for his religion. While there are many superstar Muslim stars, there are so far no female ones.

Why would they villify Rani Padmavati? She is their queen

You said there was religious hatred against Deepika. I am telling you that there wasnt because it wasn't a religious issue, it was a regional political issue with pressure groups like Karni Sena trying to gain support from locals in name of protecting their cultural phenomenon

The hatred was for portrayal of Queen Padmavati not because of Deepika's identity,

Not denying what happened with her, just making distinction between 2 different issues

They gain support from locals in the name of religion. The overall political goal may not be religious but the mass fervor that exists is from the everyday common person who doesn't see the bigger picture and only sees the rhetoric that something is anti-nationalist or anti-Hindu.

Deepika's identity is being an actress. As an actress, she was attacked for her portrayal of Padmavati. Thousands of women said they would commit jauhar in protest if this movie was released.

I don't think calling out this behavior minimizes the atrocities performed against SRK. It is not a victim game where the winner is who has been attacked most. Deepika is just as sensitive of what has occurred against SRK as he is sensitive of what has occurred against her. SRK would never downplay another woman's problems just to highlight his own. He is the same actor who gives his leading ladies top billing over his name in the credits.

To prove that Deepika is unfairly targeted more compared to others since people seem to relish in hating on her here.

🤦‍♀️

You are the one who came up with "SRK is male Deepika" and compared decades of hatred against him with one incident.

Being an actress is not a religion so do understand in clear words that I was correcting you not telling you which one was worse.

Weren't you telling Maroon that what Salman or other face isn't as big of a deal as what Deepika has faced? Why such comparison if you don't believe in comparisons?

SRK is a male Deepika in the sense that if she is the most targeted actress in BW, he is the most targeted actor. In fact, Deepika replaced Aish in this sense because originally Aish was the most targeted actress in BW. And can we remind everyone that a large deal of that is due to SRK himself!

One incident? I have given countless examples on multiple films and events where Deepika has been vilified, attacked, and shamed. I only focused on Padmavaat because you were so intent on sticking to religious issues.

I said Salman is very powerful in the industry and well-protected, hence why he's evaded jail. Deepika, as powerful as she is as a self-made woman, will never be as powerful as someone like Salman or even Karan or Alia because they have a large network of support from being in film family dynasties. And going back to Salman, much of what he's been targeted with has been due to his own behavior and actions. I sympathize with him but he has to own up to his own bad behavior. In all these Deepika incidents, I've never once seen her ever commit an actual crime like murder or physical abuse.
