I think the meaning of stanning varies from person to person & situations. If it's constructive criticism or someone not liking my fav just because (or reasonably).. I think it's okay. Because I, too don't like many of other's favourites. But problem arise when they don't just showcase their dislike but literally wish ill upon someone for no apparent reason. Does smear campaign to the point of spreading vicious lies that may harm that individual's career or state of mind. That's when I feel like defending my favourite. Yeah, they don't know my existence & they are simply doing their job. It's me who chose to like them & somewhere they helped me in ways when I needed. It's a way to give it back with gratitude, I guess.

But Bollywood stars' anties are different from anties of K-pop Idols on stan tweet or of HW celebs.

I don't know about this but once I receive a hate comment and I laughed half the day, on that day I was so happy I started dancing in the shower and I was actually watching one song repeatedly... most I think won't believe this and you have to actually witness it to believe it..

But even if I laugh at people, I do it alone like I don't get a lot of people involved in and say let's laugh together ..

Don’t take it personally even if it bothers you for the time being and you end up in a fight with someone over it try to not hold on to it. If you see the same person making sense in another thread hit the like button or strike a conversation. Basically don’t make it about yourself and move past it ASAP. That’s what I learned my many years on IF. I have seen lots of members who will laugh with you even when you poke fun at their favourites, won’t hold it against you in other conversations and I think it really makes it easier to be here. I guess what I’m trying to say is always remember the member is attacking a celebrity (mostly) and the times we cross that limit (which we all do) laugh at yourself for getting all worked up over nothing and move on.

To the fans here, how do you guys deal with all the haters and negativity aimed at your favorite stars? Sometimes the comments are filled with pure hatred and nonsense and pretty damn annoying especially if they are right under your posts. Do you let them get to you in your personal life? On Twitter, it's easy to just hit that block button, but here on this forum, ignoring those comments must be difficult.

How do you handle it?

Ab toh aadat hai aise jeene mein....smiley19

I love this response the most. Something personal and honest.

It's pretty natural to get all riled up by the mean and hateful comments directed at our favourite celebrities. We all have this weird connection with our favorite stars (I mean, that's why most of us are here) , so when we see these idiotic, spiteful remarks, it stings a bit. What's the shame in admitting that?

You’ve got to choose the right time when to sting someone tho. 😂

Oh, it stings no lies from my side. I have had my share fair of fights over celebrities only because it bothered too much not to say something in retaliation and even a times hold on to it and bash their favorites smiley36I have come to learn to not take it personally even when it bothers me. So anyone who tells you it doesn’t bother them is lying 😭

@Fatalflaw: Yes, you can always do tit for tat as well and open threads on their favourites. Many do and that’s how they cope with it 😭

Absolutely, it's their right to be all spiteful, but what about my right to feel hurt? Can't just bottle up those emotions and act like it didn't get under my skin. I mean, it did, and now I've got this little grudge going on with your fave celeb. Lol
